I remember crabbing for Bluecrab back in the days back in NY, it was something my mother(R.I.P) and eldest sister taught me to do and i loved every minute of it. Cherish your family everyone, love them unconditionally. Love you Mom & Thanks for the memories.

Those 2 boys are being boys. I had a son Waylon I lost him in 2003 he had a fatal dirt bike accident and we did everything together fishing hunting I miss him so much. They grow up fast

If you use 2 tablespoons of white distilled vinegar while you boil any shell fish it will make it easier to Peel off the shells from the meat.

yeah man I know what it's like, I raise 3 boys by myself after their mother passed away my oldest was 12 twins 10 U can do it man just love and love them through it all. and fish a whole LOT man>>> Pray and do things together always. now l'm old and they take good care of me. This reminded me of the fun i had as a kid crabbing in 1970's Louisiana off piers, jettys or foraging on the shoreline after dark.Caught whole ice chests full on string using chicken necks, giblets and fish scraps. Huge family crab boils just like that. Great family memories.

Love some fresh blue crabs! I’m an “old bay” guy though with a little Tony’s creole thrown in the pot. Remember crabbing off bridges when I was a kid, coleman stove and big stock pot. Ate them right there all night long and it don’t get any better! Thanks for the video @Bluegabe and God bless.

I've been a Floridian for a few decades, but I used to live in Maryland. When I was a kid, we would go down to a dock,, tied a piece of chicken to a string and just dropped it in. I think they like the shade of the dock ? Anyway we caught many many blue crabs this way. We would feel the line getting poked at and just haul it up and there were crabs hanging off the chicken refusing to let go. We got bushels with this tactic, but a trap means you don't have to sit there all day and can do other productive activities. My point is , the next time you go crabbing, try chicken. I love blue crab but haven't eaten any in years. We used to have all you can eat places and I loved to sit for a couple hours and munch. I love your idea about cleaning them out before spicing. I may have to go crabbing soon since you got my mouth watering. I think they usually through on some old bay seasoning after cooking ? Since your fingers are covered in it as you open the crab, you still got the flavor. One more thing I learned about blue crabs that is easy to remember is that when you flip the crab up to determine sex, the boy looks like the Washington monument , and the girl looks like the Capital. When your brother seasoned the outside shell of his blue crabs I was thinking the same thing! 🤣Alot of people do.. ima try it. Nice video as always. Do stone crabs have a different taste from blue crabs or..?
When its boiling in water that shit will get adsorbed no problem. Steam does amazing things.
Put the seasoning directly in the water also. And dont change the water for the second n third batch. Cook smaller batches. The steam seasoning gets into the claws n stays there. Once you do that. Bingo you will say. Wow! Wtf was that! Dont boil the whole crab. But about 1 1/2 inch of water with a can of beer. N keep the crab up out the water. Old bay. N dollar store seasoning or everglades 👍

I have never had Stone Crab but grew up catching and eating Blue Crab on the Gulf Coast. I have had Blue Crab cooked twice with the seasoning put in the water and the crab whole unopened. You might have to add a little more seasoning but it does get into the inside of the outer shell.
