The two cables you disconnected are a) to keep the deck lid from opening too far under normal use and b) prevent the torsion bar/hinge from slamming into the glass when the deck lid is removed. In your case you got lucky :) . The service manual actually recommends to place a piece of plywood in front of the back window to reduce the risk of this happening.
My pro tip: If you have the 2.8 L engine it is A LOT easier to get at the spark plugs on the far side of the engine if you remove the decklid as shown in the video.

eelecurb Thanks for the input! The Fiero community is one of the most helpful ever. I guess it’s better to be lucky than good ! Lol
@@wingedhorsegarage473 It looks like the hump on the top of the decklid is touching the rear glass when it's up.
What did you use to fill in the hood imperfections before applying the primer? And how did it work out?

fabio40 Absolutely! Thanks for watching and sharing! 👍
Ah, decklid, that’s what I shall call it. Cause it is not a hood, and not a trunk
Untitled Car Show Hey, thanks for watching!
That fiero watch though ....
Lol, I was waiting to see who would catch that!
@@wingedhorsegarage473 Where did you get it?!
I bought it on EBay. They used to sell a lot of them but I just did a search and couldn’t find any . 🤷🏻♂️
