I bought this tape because of the night eyes, it is the softest tape I’ve ever used. And by soft I mean the blade flexes worse than a a ten year old Stanley. (Not a fat max) it’s almost impossible to take measurements over hear pushing into a corner. The hooks aren’t that great, and it kinked within an hour of using it. It also is really difficult to extend passed 13/14’ it feels like it’s binding especially out to 20+ feet it feels like it wants to break. the body is cool, the tape retracts well, I would not recommend this tape at all.
If you want a thicker gauge tape look at the Tajima strong tapes. 1” wide tapes but the guage of the steel is noticeably thicker than the paper thin standard these days. I used to get 3 months tops out of a standard Stanley, now I’m getting close to a year out of the Tajimas. I’m a finish carpenter working 50-60 hours every week, so my tapes get used. I also don’t notice any stretching of the hook, maybe 1/64 over 8 months, but most times none. I usually only replace my Tajima tapes because I wear the paint off them.
@@johnwaugh8633 well I bought 3 each different time same issues. It’s so annoying you’re in middle of working then the one tool that you use the most just snaps on you. Wasting half day run back and forth on return. I buy Milwaukee now no issues
@@johnwaugh8633 the problem of going back and forth returning and needing a tape measure at the moment and having to run to store again or looking for a back up when you forget to h as be an extra one in hand or having to climb off later to look for one. To much work rather get a new better one.
It was only off because the end was bent, take a pair of pliers and straighten it out. Dumb review, this is the guy who also ranks Milwaukee tape measures higher 😂😂
I install cabinets and use this I love everything about it except the blade seems to always get stuck and you gotta work it out with 2 or more fingers my co-worker got one of these a couple weeks later and had the same problem

Maybe I’m just a baby but like why not include the fractions on the tape measure, makes everyone’s life easier, even if you have them memorized

I bought few of there each time it snapped and brake off front return two in just a week use. It’s garbage. 3rd time give up
I had the same issue but I found out they are very good about honoring the warranty. Just keep the receipt. I've had mine replaced 6 times lol
