Immaculate footballer. Imperial defender. Immortal hero of 1966. First Englishman to raise the World Cup aloft. Favourite son of London's East End. Finest legend of West Ham United. National Treasure. Master of Wembley. Lord of the game. Captain extraordinary. Gentleman of all time. Thanks for this video, absolutely fantastic tribute.
Cracking that. I was born in East London in 1952. You either supported The Orient or West Ham. My family were all O's fans but we were in awe of B Moore. Legend. He was passing the ball out of defence when Peps grandad was a boy. There will never be another.
From a family of Orient supporters, my late Grandad born Hackney, and yep couldn't agree more. A few years later guess Glenn Roeder was the closest we got, but Bobby was in a league of his own.
and never will. I am Brazilian, I saw too many great players. but no deffensour to compare to Moore. the only guy to have stopped Pelé, Garrincha, Jairzinho, Tostão, Kidd, Best, Law, Hurst, Mathews, Riva, Rivera, Muller, Cruyff...
The greatest gentleman on a football field. He made the game look easier than what it was. He had fantastic vision and could read the opponents moves three passes ahead. As a West Ham Season Ticket holder since 1958 I was fortunate to see him progress from his debut (unfortunately sent off) against Man Ure. His passing was superb, players didn't have to break their stride to run on to the ball. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think he is the only player to collect a different trophy 3 years running at Wembley. F A Cup (64) European Cup Winners Cup (65) World Cup (66).
Lovely tribute to a great man. A number of the people paying tribute to Bobby at the end are also sadly no longer with us. Martin Peters, George Best, Gordon Banks, Ron Greenwood.
Not a Hammers fan, but Moore was the best defender England ever had. As a Captain he led by example and was a magnificent ambassador for the English game. The man lifted the World Cup for us. I'd have had him in my team anytime. Pele said he was the best defender he played against. The FA only admitted after he died that they should have done more for him after he retired. Shame on them. R.I.P. Bobby Moore.
As a Juventus fan I must say that for me personally Gaetano Scirea will always remain ultimate figure of a true gentlemen and perfection on the football pitch, but Bobby Moore is another beautiful example of that dying breed of old school football. RIP Bobby.
82 brazil were the most entertaining attractive side ever .they scored the most spectacular goals in world cup history..brazil were ribbed .socrates scored two legitimate goals .zi co had a blatant penalty that should have been given should have been 4€ 4 score line

Can't add to the comments already made. He was one in a million, and the national team should have used his knowledge and understanding to help out. RIP Bobby Moore, a national treasure. ....
I bumped into Bobby in the street in 1989 in London and he signed my cheque book for me,it has always been and always will be my most treasured possession.❤⚒🏴😢
Bobby and Trevor Brooking were two of only three people I have asked for their autograph. He was my hero in my teens. People who did not watch him week in and week out could only get some idea of what a great player and captain he was.His ball control, passing and vision were on a different level to all other footballers I have seen. He is by head and shoulders the best defender I have ever seen.
My lifelong idol and inspiration. I saw him week in, week out at the Boleyn and was there at his three moments of personal and team triumph. The greatest English defender by several light years. As Jock Stein so memorably said, he saw things happening twenty minutes before they actually did.
It's crazy to see how the modern game is to what is was like then! But huge respect to this man, what a leader and what a player, such a shame he went so soon. Respect and R.I.P.
With his abilities, he would also be a world class defender today. Jack Charlton and him were probably the best the worls has ever seen and will ever see.

He said his words on the football pitch, an absolute class act , skill , timing and vision , he was always 4 or 5 passes ahead of the game . A true gentleman and football legend 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Amongst all this notice how our late great Queen passed the cup to Bobby nice and low so he could lift it high for the crowd. Unlike other 'dignitaries' who lift it aloft trying to pinch some of the glory and applause that belongs to the players.

Great reaction at 1:55. He seemed to be really overlooked after his playing days. What a waste - there's so much that kids could have learned from him.
I was two when we won the World Cup, alas I feel we may not win it again in my lifetime; the England team for me are just too inconsistent, you never really know what you are going to get. Don't get me wrong of course I'm proud we won it, but let's be honest, we can't keep going on about something that's happened only once, fifty odd years ago. That said, I have a photo of Bobby Moore lifting the trophy in my sitting room, fancy that a photo of a West Ham player in a Spurs household. A fantastic player who I still miss.
@@cupcakefairy87 Thanks for pointing that out, I did not realise 66 was the last double numerical World Cup. The life of an England and Spurs fan can break your heart and you rely on past glories to supplement the disappointment of failure.
Good Old Bob ! True Story..My m8 was in his Pub " Mooreo's" ( sp ) and he went up to BM who was surrounded by his cohorts. Fully agree.
There will only be one Bobby Moore. We were so lucky to have him. Gentlemen, professional, captain, leader on and off the pitch.
