Flying the 737 since last year and wow never realized you can just download directly from simbrief. I never went down the whole list so I only saw the pln files 🙀Nice one! I always take ages to type in all the info and it won't take all info fro sim brief directly so my workflow is more involved than I like. For example: all the entries the FMC deems invalid I can convert via navigraph's in-game map (which takes all the info and convert them to data I can then put into the FMC, coordinates excluded - no idea how to do that. Liked, subscribed and became a member. Thank you so much!
Thanks so much I was wondering what kind of simbrief integration we would have and how it would work. Keep up the good work and can't wait to see more for you.

one more question. can you see how many miles left to final destination? Currently I can only see the NM left to a specifiek waypoint in FMC "legs" menu. Like in the A32NX it shows how many miles left to the airport
Thanks for your video! Unfortunately I only got the 777 but not the 737 files under the given path I could upload the flightplan to. What could cause that?
If you use the Simbrief Downloader, that should detect the installs and place the .rte file in the correct folder. If not, if I recall, you can enter the path into the Downloader and every subsequent .rte will be correctly downloaded.
Absolutely right 🙂 the instructions are in the description for those who want to use the Simbrief Downloader (I like doing it the way I've shown but know that is a simpler way with less clicks) 🙂

The blame for that needs to be pointed at Asobo though for not allowing C++/WASM modules to access the internet, while JavaScript code can. Once they unlock that, I'm sure PMDG will then create an internet import option
@@simulacrae FBW is written in JavaScript which is why it can access the internet. The CRJ cannot access the internet either (that's why importing simbrief requires the same steps as shown for the 737 and why you can't display charts yet). Fenix still remains unknown, though it is known that they are running a separate exe on the side for most of their simulation calcs (which might make it possible for other things to access internet).
@@Ashleigh_T allowing c++ to access the internet is really dangerous though because some innocent looking mods can download all kinds of malware etc. Javascript is sandboxed so less of an issue, I can see why Asobo did it that way.

You used the simbrief downloader to download into the rte and the wx directory, but it downloaded both into the rte directory and you had to manually move the wx file. Is this a bug? Thanks.

Not wishing to state the obvious - but I am assuming that there will be a PMDG 737 MSFS "Profile" for the Simbrief utility to work with - and that will be available to users to download and add? Currently, there is one for the FBW A320NEO and the Headwind A330 for example ....
@@BritishAvgeek Thanks Luke. I did wonder because so many of the profiles are not too accurate! Using the Salty 748 for example, with the default Simbrief B748 profile, left me short of fuel going across the Pond to Miami and caused me to divert to Jacksonville with about 3 tonnes of fuel left! Nice video!
Im new to PMDG addons but is there no way to get this to integrate the same way as the FBW A32NX? On that you just put in your simbrief pilot details and it pulls in your latest flight plan when you start the sim.
Hi Robert... Not yet. They're entirely redesigning and updating their EFB which is why there isn't any integration yet. When the EFB is finished there will be Simbrief and Navigraph integration 👍
I am a total Airbus guy... I really don't know if I should wait for the Fenix because I don't know how long that will take but boy the PMDG sure looks tempting. What do you guys think? Should I wait?
In my opinion it depence on the price of the PMDG 737. If you have no problem to spend some money in to it then I think you should try it, but if your are limited in the money which would like to spent on aircrafts for the MSFS I would advice you to wait until the Fenix a320 comes out. :D But usually you can't go wrong with a purchase from PMDG if the aircraft they offer appeal to you. They are mostly worth their money.
To be Honest, If you can afford to get both. Get both. If not we dont know how far off the Fenix could be. Could be a few Months yet. Theyre Very Different Aircraft but thats what makes it fun right ? :D Hope that helps :)
@@jdzzl Yeah I think another A320 is, while different and probably a whole lot more sophisticated, still another A320. The 340 or 300/310, or the future A380X will be incredible appealing though. I think ultimately if you want a little more hands-on type flying with a Boeing, and the ultimate level of immersion from the top tier folks at PMDG then this is a must buy - this has very quickly become my favourite aircraft in MSFS

Specifically the Prague to Skiathos routing is included in the description of each of the three main episodes covering a full flight 👍 stick with the tutorials, keep practising and download my checklist I've created on my website too on the 737 page britishavgeek.com/pmdg-737
Thank you for this, it helped me a lot :)
You're most welcome 🙂
Wow, that's one old fashioned way of uplinking flight plans :)
The blame for that needs to be pointed at Asobo though for not allowing C++/WASM modules to access the internet, while JavaScript code can. Once they unlock that, I'm sure PMDG will then create an internet import option
@@Ashleigh_T the FBW can access the internet, same as the crj and from what I've heard so will the Fenix.
I don't mind it - to be honest I'd likely just import the wind data with the .wx and plug in the route manually myself
Hi video is great
My flight plan loads in fine but then on the Nav menu on the plane it looks well off, looks like it’s taking me nowhere close to the airport
Any ideas?
Not sure what you mean really, I'd need to see some images/screenshots to show what you described
I have same issue I created nice plan on sibrief like 7 waypoints between start and finish and when I load the plan in the sim it got only 2 waypoints after departure and then nothing.........
Hello thank you for the tutorial,
Quick question can this aircraft pull navigation data from this sim Manon menu map automatically??
I don't believe it can but I haven't tried myself
You just earned a sub
Thanks for this great video!
You're welcome!!
Thanks for the tutorial mate.Well Done 👍
Thanks Paul! Hoping whenever it releases it'll be helpful to everyone
Hello, I am really having problems in knowing how i get my simbrief flt plan to appear in the simbrief downloader menue "PMDG Flightplan, i created the simbrief flight plan OK, what directory should i put in the simbrief downloader i have C:\Users\Charlie\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages\pmdg-aircraft-736\work\Flightplans and i copied the .rte flight plan to the flight plan folder but its not exporting to the FMS. Any help much appreciated kind regards Charlie
I understood everything untill you put a NDM 01 approach in where did that come from? Can someone explain?
It's the approach we flew into Skiathos - the NDB based approach we showed on the charts
Have you tried starting the sim and flight up first and then importing the flightplan into the pmdg folders after, to see if it still works?
Good question - I'll try it today on the live stream!
great tutorial
Thanks 🙏
Can you make a vid how to remove discontinuous in the legs? Not able to figure out how to delete it or how to connect waypoints
Click the waypoint below, then click the Discontinuity and it'll replace it 😁
@@BritishAvgeek thank very much!! That aorks
why does my flight plan request have a datalink fail below it?
You used the simbrief downloader to download into the rte and the wx directory, but it downloaded both into the rte directory and you had to manually move the wx file. Is this a bug? Thanks.
not sure - I personally just download it directly from simbrief myself and drag the files to where I want them to be. it's a few extra steps (same steps in the video) but I like it that way :)
@@BritishAvgeek I just got the PMDG 737 but haven't flown it yet. I'll mess around with it
@@steveg1927 awesome well you're going to love it! Check out all my tutorials for it on britishavgeek.com/pmdg-737 and grab the checklist I've made too 🙂
is there a mod ar anything just to use the world map for flights? i dont want a super realistic flight, the most i can handle is a CS 777.
Sadly not!
Not wishing to state the obvious - but I am assuming that there will be a PMDG 737 MSFS "Profile" for the Simbrief utility to work with - and that will be available to users to download and add? Currently, there is one for the FBW A320NEO and the Headwind A330 for example ....
The default simbrief B737-700 simbrief profile is what I've been using and it's been quite good
@@BritishAvgeek Thanks Luke.
@@BritishAvgeek I wonder if you will be able to file a flight plan like in the A320FBW with ATC/Ground clearance etc......?
Thank you!
Do you have on any ideas of Pax,cargo load planning. I know there’s something in the FMC. Like how much.
in Simbrief it'll tell you passenger loads etc :)
so does the plane actually follow the flightplan ??? because my a32nx certainly does not
It does indeed 🙂
I just don't care enough for another A320. Yes its a CEO but I couldn't care less. It's time to get some Boeing planes in the game
@@jdzzl Yeah I think another A320 is, while different and probably a whole lot more sophisticated, still another A320. The 340 or 300/310, or the future A380X will be incredible appealing though.
As of now I'm still very open to all kinds of Aircraft and had great fun with the CRJ, the A32NX but also various high quality GA aircraft like the Cessna 414.
I think ultimately if you want a little more hands-on type flying with a Boeing, and the ultimate level of immersion from the top tier folks at PMDG then this is a must buy - this has very quickly become my favourite aircraft in MSFS
I've tried this many a time and can import flight plans without a problem but when trying to load weather I get a data uplink invalid message, any help @British Avgeek?
Have you put the .wx file into the WX folder?
can anyone tell me why my routes always end up as “dead ends” or overlapping other waypoints? I cant seem to get a fluid route with connecting waypoints from point A to B. I make sure no discontinuities exist but some waypoints end up leading to no where and the airplane will just fly in the same heading forever..
not entirely sure - do you have any nav discrepancies, or have you moved/pushed back before making sure the IRS are aligned?
Do we have a simbrief profile for this?
Sorry, shouldn't ask here. But what's the RNP/ACTUAL 1.00/0.06NM ? Sounds a bit like accuracy
Absolutely right - it's the accuracy of the system to how many miles out it is - 1.00 being 1nm and so on
Where do you get the SIDS and STARS as SimBrief does not give them?
Charts
Thank you for the Video
You're welcome - bit early as it's not yet released but something to bookmark, and it shows that it's easy to add too and will work with simbrief 🙂
@@BritishAvgeek we dont Know the price but I think I will buy the -700 and -800 because when er have the 700 we have to wait 3 more months
@@spectacularflying3905 absolutely - estimated about 12 weeks between the two variants there from the release of the -700 and both will be great in their own rights too
@@BritishAvgeek yes, I like the -700 very much, sie Really is a beauty too. But I want other planes like fenix,… hope it wont cost too much.
@@spectacularflying3905 there are a lot of very good aircraft coming soon. The FlyByWire A32NX is at a great level of detail now too in the experimental branch with their VNAV - go check it out if you haven't done already 🙂
PMDG 737 excellent best simbrief connection is Flybywire .. no need for Simbrief downloader .. pity other sims don't have the same ease
please don't cut the video during the moments you press the buttons of fmc, we have to try several buttons for seeing the same screen than the screen which apprear suddenly in the video....
I cant find the flightplansfile in my pmdg file?
Bit complicated importing flight plan from Simbrief. Wish it could be done as in A32NX
In the future it will be, when the EFB arrives and it'll also have navigraph chart support in the EFB amongst other features too but for now we have to do this
@@BritishAvgeek Good to know
How do I enter the correct pax and fuel weights that simbrief gave me? Does perf init. Do that? Thanks!
You can add the payload/pax in the FS Actions menu of the FMS using the info on your Simbrief OFP... perf init will calculate other data based on your final weights
@@BritishAvgeek thank you!
Is there a way to do this with the dc-6
In order to use Simbrief, I need a Navigraph account which is not free, correct?
Half and half... There is a free element to simbrief still but you will have an out of data airac thus may have flight planning issues
B.A - i cannot find your PC settings - can you add to the video "more info"? Thanks.
The settings? It's a blend of High and Ultra 🙂 mostly the High preset though
Not as straith forward as in A320 Flybywire????
Nope - it's a Boeing after all 😅 perhaps in future there may be something but this is an easy enough step and if you have the Simbrief Downloader Program it'll do most of it for you too 🙂
My download download over internet explorer? Useless have any ideas why it’s not showing up as file
When I press L nav nothing comes on or v nav
if no LNAV or VNAV it means you've missed a step
Hmm, I have neither "flight plans" or "weather" folders in the work folder.
do you have it in any other location within Local State?
Thanks for the step by step guide but I get invalid entry?
check your nav data in that case as it may be out of date/incorrect
My route is KDAL/13L SNSET4 HULZE DCT TXO J72 ABQ J78 ZUN EAGUL6 KPHX/26
I already put in the via info (SNSET4.HULZ TO HULZE)
So every time i try to put in DCT after HULZE, it keeps saying "INVALID ENTRY." I followed every step, and now im stuck on putting in the next thing cause it keeps saying invalid entry (PLEASE HELP!)
Hi what about the airframe do we use the simbreif one or pmdg has its own airframe like the a320nx ???
Simbrief has one set for the B737-700 and the other varients too so you just click B737 and done 😁
mind only shows one leg after i click on the rte
When you enter it in the FMC does it already add the arrival runway or do you have to plug that in? Thanks
You need to plug that in 🙂
@@BritishAvgeek Ok thank. I rewatched your vid and found out I need to enter the SID and STARR. Where do I find that? Sorry I'm a noob
@@drewtownes505 yep! And good question - it's in the DEP ARR page (if it helps, before the 737 is released I'll have a full flight tutorial split into three episodes to go from cold and dark) 🙂
We need a Jepensen type of file to drop in that will make it a functioning FMC that can be edited on the fly lol
It doesn’t work for me and this is the 16 tutorial I’ve watched. I just want to fly a plane😢
Hey Great video, helped me get started with th 737, but I have a quick question,
So I import flightplans from simbrief into the flightplans folder, now that's not the issue, they work fine, the issue is when I remove them from the flightplans folder, they are still the MCDU, does anyone know how to remove them from the MCDU?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Hi! great to hear :) after restarting the sim?
@@BritishAvgeek yes, i have deleted them all from the folders, but there still MCDU, there is like 10 or 11 now
@@Ibbo-fl6ml when you load them in do you press the button for Save on the FMC or just Activate? If you're saving the flight plans they'll be saved again elsewhere and I suspect this is what is happening
