RE 6 remake does sound intriguing. There will be a bunch of obstacles, if they want to give a similar experience. Coop was one of the big features as well as an invasion mode.
I honestly really like you idea for the remake, the separation of parts feels like it would be amazing for all the different stories/characters you can play as in that game.
Honestly never thought about splitting it in 2 games, that’s actually a great idea. I want to see what they do with 5 first though as a caveat. 5 is going to be hard to reimagine. 6 is a whole other beat to try to tackle though.
I can totally relate to what you were saying about the game feeling bad in 2012 but somehow great after all this time. I used to hate it a lot (RE0 enjoyer btw) ; however, a friend asked me to play it with them, and I totally had a blast. 20 hours for a single playthrough is insane, but I do see the potential of a great remake. Great video, man! It definitely spiked my interest :)
If they remake it, there’s nothing much they can fix, but this game has a lot of divided opinions between love and hate… definitely an interesting and far from original plot title, but enjoyable… Really remarkable moments, like Piers :(
@@legendg219 It's a really long Michael Bay movie. Thing is, for what it is, it's pretty damn good. If they could balance the horror and action, then it could be amazing.

I love this game me and my friends played all the scenarios at once and when it came down to doing a team up we would all be in the same server that being said i believe like DMC they should have made it its own game and i like to this 7 is the true 6
I agree, whenever they get to remaking 6 they should split it into two parts to give the game more time to breathe. I think the set pieces and overall plot should remain the same but the story should be rewritten to make more sense and connect to the larger series. It just feels like the series concluded with 5 and this game was tacked on. A nitpick I also had with the original, the winner section takes place on Christmas Eve and Day, but it doesn’t utilize that setting. I hope the remake would take some inspiration from Die Hard or Christmas horror movies to add some of that into the game.
I think RE4 managed to set the precedent for how 6 should tackle a lot of things. The rough edges were smoothed over a bit, but they never shied away from the wacky moments either.
Despite the fact RE6 ran like shit on my laptop and had tons of flaws I enjoyed every minute of it and enjoyed it alot more with my friends which is how I recommend you play it. If an RE6 remake does happen I hope they implement the horror elements more heavily while still maintaining the action from the original it would be perfect imo
It's gonna be such a hard line to walk, but after looking at the other REmakes, I feel like the current RE team can get it right. By the way, it's so rad hearing stories of people who got to play it co-op when it came out. That's how I first played RE5 and that's when these 2 games shine.

I'd rather have 5 remade. 6 had overcomplicated controls, boss fights don't feel like you're a participant as it seems they don't react to your shots and you're waiting for 1/5 cutscenes to trigger, and I wish story was more focused. I honestly wish 6 was COMPLETELY remade/rewritten to make each campaign longer or cut out 1 of them to extend the other 3 Ada's could easily be cut as it doesn't really add anything new. I also wish they made the Juavo more like traditional zombies or maybe like the lycan, not complete morons but more likely to melee than having entire sections of Call of Duty shootout segments. Maybe also make the inventory and combat system like RE4remake make guns customizable and have attache case upgrades apply to both character boxes but make them smaller overall so you can't carry a metric ton of healing items. IDK I still would rather have Re5 with RE4remakes improvements as I feel that's a better game but I know Capcom is a bit worried making that game in ""current year"" with everyone being overly sensitive.
@shadowmitchmovies Oh! For sure. I just wish we'd get 5 or Veronica 1st, hell I'd even celebrate if we got a remake or spiritual successor to Outbreak, something about having a survival horror with 2-4 people having to coordinate resources seems like such a cool concept and I'd prefer that over these re:verse/resistance abominations.
@shadowmitchmovies I kind of like the idea Outbreak had where different characters had different niches. It could easily setup some interesting puzzle design if set in Racoon City during peak outbreak. You could have more infected roaming around to compensate for more team members and you'd have to carefully decide on how to divide the team and supplies to make progress. It's what I wish Re6 did when the stories intersect but all it did was add an extra AI running around taking potshots
I kind of disagree, I feel like they should try to compact it into more of a rich and full experience that isnt so repetitive and pointless. Get rid of stupid characters like piers and helena. Maybe join chatacters' stories instead. Like add sherri to leons campaign then we are playing as leon and sherri reunited and thatd be cool on its own. So ustanak and all that could be added to leons story more as a focus too but done better. Make the whole game a more tense and horror focused game. Jake could be just part of the story we dont need him to be a main playable character. He could even play a semi villainous role maybe we even fight him in hand to hand combat with chris.thatd be neat I think. And to replace helena they could throw claire into the game, completely re write the story or even Jill and they could be there to brung chris back from his alcoholism. That makes more sense to me like where tf are they and whos piers he doesnt even know chris so one of his last partners or even his sister coming to rescue him and bring him back to the bsaa would be waay better and make sense. Throw barry in a few cut scenes too. Make this the big resident evil character reunion everybody wants. Could even throw in hunk begind the scenes working in the shadows alongside ada setting up for sequels to expand on thoee characters. I dunno re 6 is fun but its also awful haha Edit: spelling
These are all awesome ideas. My biggest issue with cutting it down is it's hard to do it neatly, and a lot of the good ideas the original RE6 had would benefit from more time, so even if they cut a bunch out, it might still end up being quite a long game. It's a hard game to defend, but I love it for what it is.
Ada could close out the story upon discovering the true Wesker, with the one who died in 5 being revealed to be a clone, given how cloning was big in her story
I have a question to ask and hopefully we can come up with fruitful suggestions, how do you fix the issues surrounding firearm wielding j'avos to better fit with the horror feels WITHOUT removing their use of firearms? How do you define horror really? Does it need to have dehumanizing aspects to be such? A very tough question indeed but its worth to discuss about haha
I think the look of the j'avos goes a long way towards making them scary. A remake could take it a step further and make them really unnerving, particularly the multiple eyes on the head, and the way their bodies change after physical trauma. As for the weapons, it doesn't really bother me that they have them, but for several reasons, I think it'd be better if they weren't so good with them. Their minds would be gone and a lot of it would be muscle memory. That could have an uncanny valley sort of ugliness to it!
@@shadowmitchmovies What about the idea that J'avos can do suppresive fire instead of only shooting at the player ? Meaning that they would shoot their firearms at any area where they think the player would go to in order to either take cover or flee from the encounter? Because for me, the horror of them using firearms is that they do not need to get close to you to attack in comparison to melee enemies where they actually need to get close. The difference here is that i had discussed with someone on UA-cam and they said melee enemies gave you time to think of the horror they do while fire wielding enemies will just simply shoot at you before you even notice their presence or know the time of their attack, think of it like a jumpscare - its sudden and loud occurences for a short time is rather reactionary instead of forcing the player to think just how helpless they really are. Going back to my idea about suppresive fire, let me give an example. You play as Chris Redfield who is low on resources ( both healing item and ammos ) and then he sees a door to left at the end of this room that leads to another room but not without alerting 3 J'avos wielding weapons, your expectation could be that they will all shoot at you. But instead of that, 2 will do suppresive fire. One J'avo will fire at the door and then slowly draws its shot at Chris while the other one will shoot at the ground closing in to the player and then finally the only one that will intend to shoot at the player is one J'avo. But this kind of attack NEEDS to have noticeable patterns to help players predict what the gunwielding J'avos would do. About their appearance, this will be a hot take but take some inspiration from the crestures in Callisto Protocol where most of them have additional limbs, eyes or whatever kind of noticeable body parts that grew on their body. For example, J'avo's right hand could have 2 more additonal fingers with an appendage that resembles a small hand erupting from its elbow. I would say it is fitting if you see this kind of things as a metaphor on just how many types of mutation can they turn into, its a lot. I do still have some point to add though.
Sorry dude, I didn't get a notification so I'm only just seeing this! I really like that idea, and how it could be used in a future game. I also totally agree with the melee/gun comparison. A man walking towards you with a knife fills you with a totally different fear than a sudden burst of gunfire does. I haven't played Callisto Protocol, but while it copped a bit of shit when it released, one of my friends said it was actually pretty good. I like how that idea could apply to RE6!
My hope is we get 0, 1, 2, 3, CV, 4, Rev, 5, Rev 2, and 6 all remade, then they call it on the remakes entirely. I definitely hope they continue the mainline series alongside the remakes, though. I'd rather RE9 over a remake at this point.
Nope, if they cut a story in two and make the Leon part DLC, I would never buy any of it. Im not waiting 2-3 years just to finish a Story I already know and turning Tall oaks, an important plot point, into DLC would make absolutley zero sense. People would be pissed and the game(s) would fail harder than Operation Raccoon City
I wouldn't wanna wait 2-3 years, either, but the wait between RE4make and Separate Ways was reasonable, I thought. My issue with Tall Oaks was that so much of it felt like being strung along. "Let's just get to the church then I'll explain everything". Cool, we're at the church. "Let's just figure out how to get into the catacombs then I'll explain everything." I loved the university, I loved the city, I even enjoyed the subway, but everything post-bus crash was a bit draining, and the zombies coming out of the ground was goofy as fuck, even by RE standards. Cut that out, and it gives us more time for Leon in China. Even if the whole church part was massively shortened and we got more time in the city and university, that would be a huge plus.
How stupid do you have to be to not be able to follow the story? Just remove the stupid qtes add an inventory system (RE5 like) and cut forced walking. Make it a true fight for survival. It's easily doable even with action. Whatever they do Capcom can't tone down the action. The setpieces yeah but not the combat system itself it's way too good. In fact they should expand on the combat system so it can feel like playing the combat sequences from Vendetta but keeping ammo and stamina management in mind. I used to think level design was the biggest problem because it got a bit uninspired in the 2nd half but I realised watching this that it's the unnecessary hand holding that's the real problem. The levels are great until it gets to China. Imagine Chris's squad fighting the invisible snake but you have full control. Through the entire complex instead of just 50% walking cutscene and 50% fight (it's even less but you get the idea). Leon's campaign had the worst handholding in China and the last two chapters are just glorified boss rush with unskippable cutscenes. His first 3 chapters are good but can hardly make up for that atrocity. You're right RE6 has so much potential that's why it's concerning whether they will just skip it or gut it completely into something it isn't.
honestly re6 gets so much hate but id love to see it get remade. its a great game just a garbage resident evil game. honestly i want another operation racoon city

Man you put it so well. It's great for what it is, but terrible at being RE. I actually enjoyed Operation: Raccoon City as well!
Tf are these ideas… Are you an EA investor?
Hahha no its perfect, period
need resi 5 remake forst
CV is rumored to be next, and I'm very okay with that.
@@shadowmitchmovies yeah i'm really excited for a re5 remake but we just got the re4 remake which is pretty similar so it would make sense if they do it later.
Sounds like you grew some brain cells between your first and most recent playthroughs. Shame a lot of people didn’t and still don’t get this game. Dunno about a remake though, the story is kinda irrelevant to the larger lore and a bit too convoluted. Leon’s campaign definitely isn’t the best, it could be the worst tbh. Best just leave this game in the past, as much as I enjoy it.
Or lost some.
I completely get your point for leaving it in the past, but I feel like there's so much potential for an amazing game in there, that I'd like to see them have another shot at it.
8 is worse than 6
THANK YOU. 8 is a super polished game, but it shits all over the canon.
I feel like they’re remaking all the games just so they can remake this one and make it better lol
If that's the case, I am very okay with it.
