The Martinique Island Versicolor Tarantula

Caribena versicolor is one of the most loved tarantulas around the world. This beautiful species from the Caribbean Island Martinique changes colors through its lifecycle.
In this video we show you a little history of when it was described and by who, the natural habitat as well as the different color stages.

i love versicolors they are so beautiful my biggest one moulted ~a month ago and went from being secret spider who didnt come out much to a very calm and friendly spider who sits out all day 💕

This was some great footage. I have wondered how the wild population was doing after all the hurricanes that have been hitting that area the past few years. Does the wild population look like it's doing ok?

Yes I’m sure the population is doing really well! But measures still need to be taken to prevent people from illegally poaching them ❤️
