Gotta say...love your video. I watch it repeatedly. Love the urban ride. Lots of turns, changes in speed, loads of external factors affecting the ride. I have a 2007 S40 and it’s a great bike. I try to get out and ride it about once a week, but sometimes it’s difficult here in Colorado in wintertime. Hope to get a more capable highway cruiser in the near future, but for now it’s great for cruising around town. Please show us more of Melbourne!
@@69mwagner Yeah, mine’s been a great bike. I’ve already put more miles on mine than it had when I bought it a year ago. Almost at 7000 miles on it now. Congrats on getting your first bike!
Great Job! I think you might be running lean mixture? If you pipe a bike, especially a carburetor one, you will reduce lean running and can burn your valves! You also have to re-jet the carb.
I think Suzuki should re-launch the big V-twin! These are great city bikes and better than a certain former British single made in India.... Nice vid! One little section reminded me of St. John's Wood just behind Lord's Cricket Ground in London. Best, Pete.
Good video, looks like a nice machine. A little more commentary would be welcome. How do you like the bike? What works, what doesn't, and what are you looking to change?
I was till recently I found out my front pulley has striped the drive shaft and Peter Stevens wont cover me so I have pay half price of the bike to get it fixed. :/
I don't really like the newer model S40s. The blacked out style isn't just for me. Anything pre-2016 when it still had the chrome plated goodies is good enough for me lol
Yeah. Basically the same bike over the years. Just a few minor cosmetic changes. Most notably the handlebars going from a pull back style to a narrower drag style type. Must be for taller riders.
yeah that's true and to be honest I live this handle bars specially with my height there are perfect and over the bike is extremely nimble and easy to ride and after the changing the muffler very satisfying sound . :D
Nice vid. Only thing that annoyed me was you forgetting to turn off your indicators. This can get you into trouble. Is it because the Speedo etc is on the tank and out of view ?
I had it for 1.5 months now I did 1400km on it I'm happy with I have to say it's not the best bike for cruising at 100km/h is not the most comfortable but more than capable do even do more I think the max is 130 km/h that can go with. And for the exhaust no it's not the stock one, that one was so quite and you could barely hear the bike so I change muffler with this one. I have to say this one isn't exactly straight pipe it has something in that in the low rpm the bike isn't loud which is perfect my conditions
I'm keen on this bike. You say not the best for cruising 100km/h, why is that, is it to viby or a lot of wind buffeting or both. Nice note bye the way.
I guess you could say it's not the best, but I have spent hours on mine at that speed with no problem. The Airhawk seat cushion makes a serious difference to the better, and a windshield helps, I think. On four lane roads the low weight of the bike reacts to trucks and cars, but on two lane roads I can cruise all day at 60 mph. I took a Harley 2007 883 out on the highway and honestly it vibrated more than my S40 at 65-70.
Sorry my friend, but I couldn't go far from 11:34. The noise of the escape of your motorcycle is very annoying, your driving skills are too bad what turns everything boring to watch. You must be more consistent and let the bike flow. But don't quit and keep riding.
Why is it that only beginner to intermediates post vids on UA-cam? Not the best example of riding skills. And, yes, it sounds good to you but it’s cursingly loud to bystanders, not that you GAF or care. That’s the point hey, getting attention, not riding.
Oww thanks for the input, yeah this video is beginner because I was a beginner that usually how it works if want see more skills suggest to see my other videos. and yes my bike is loud to piss people like you off. hope you enjoy rest of your day :)
It's obvious you've never had car drivers not giving way & pulling out in front of you when riding enough. .less chance of that happening if they hear you approaching.

I just bought my first bike....2007 S40 as well, I’m absolutely in love with it!!!!

a great motorcycle….I m about to buy a 2019 …..nice vid. bR00
Very cool video! I wish more UA-camrs would have a long video of just riding so a person like me can see what it’s really like. Thanks.

Fingers crossed!
This bike is single cylinder 650cc.
i love the black on the s40
Yeah it looks really nice I have change the look of the bike now I'll might put new video out to show the bike.
@@fardidryder9360 I'm thinking about getting this as a first bike so I'm subbing for sure
I just bought a 2018 s40 I like the black out but I have a silver gas tank
Good video, looks like a nice machine. A little more commentary would be welcome. How do you like the bike? What works, what doesn't, and what are you looking to change?
Create more videos please, greetings from Mexico!!! And Add music
what exhaust are you using? sound really nice!
Fire pipes
hey, still riding this bike? considering buying one off the shelf and wondering how you're getting on a year later
Gazillion NZ yeah I am. It’s been really good I made into bobber now and I’m really in love with, on top it’s reliable and really easy to work on.
I was till recently I found out my front pulley has striped the drive shaft and Peter Stevens wont cover me so I have pay half price of the bike to get it fixed. :/
@@fardidryder9360 How did that happen? Any ways to prevent that? :(
@@zhen-yuanli1097 not sure really
Find it very odd that you don't adjust the mirrors. 🤓🤓🤓
How did you make all the controls black. The ones attached to the bars ? Thanks!
It was like that when I bought it new.
@@fardidryder9360 Ok cool
What exhausts are these? Sound nice. Very throaty.
what kind of muffler you have on your s40 sounds good
Thanks for the vid.
What is all the clacking noise (not the thumper engine)?
:D no it's the exhust on it but because the go pro is in it's case it doesn't sound that good but in real life sound much better.
Is it original exhaust or custom?
What year is that S40? Never seen one with black handlebars, unless it's a 2017 model.
you are exactly right it's 2017 Model :D
I don't really like the newer model S40s. The blacked out style isn't just for me. Anything pre-2016 when it still had the chrome plated goodies is good enough for me lol
it's just the pain the rest of it I think it's same from 90s till now

Awesome vid and bike! What pipes are you running?
I can't remember TBH it was Australian company base in Queens land.

mark goulding yeah that doesn’t help also I was still new to my bike so I wasn’t use to it but now doesn’t happen as much
@@fardidryder9360 all good keep up the good work

I wanna know exactly which exhaust you have. I want one
I bought from here:

Sounds too loud, like my grandfather's farts
