Watched a video of another guy who spent nine minutes disassembling the whole lower section just to say “clean this part out.” You nail it in under two minutes with the actual issue at hand. Thanks!

While this wasn't what fixed my problem, it did inspire me to look under my top rack to try and get out the spinning thing where I found it was obstructed from spinning by a little light blue clip that came off the rack and was dangling. I removed it, and am now running a wash to confirm it was the problem. This would explain why some and not all glasses were not clean. Thank you for your inspiration!
Update: The test run was perfect. TY again!

This solved my problem! I knew the agitator holes were clogged but didn't know the arm came off so easily. I used a cheap dental tool from the dollar store with a hook on the end. I'd been having trouble for months so I knew there was a lot of gunk built up, but it still took me about a half hour to dig it all out. Unfortunately even a small bit of soft debris that is hard to get hold of will still clog the hole when the water pressure is on it. My husband was about to buy a new dishwasher, but this will extend the life for another couple of years.

Thanks for sharing this one. I'm looking at it in 2024, and I just cleaned out the debris from my dishwasher arms based on this.

This may help with increasing the pressure to the upper arm. If there is a flat tube that runs from the bottom of the dishwasher up to the upper arm check to see if you can remove it and see if it’s blocked up. Also check the 2 filters in the bottom of the dishwasher. Take them out, scrub both with a toothbrush, dawn soap, and super hot tap water. Careful not to denting the metal sieves/filters. Replace each but make sure they are locked in place aligned with the arrows.

    Thank you. Saved me $500.
My 10 years old dishwasher had the issue. Thought it's time to buy a new one. It's working again after extracting a seed stuck at spray arm.

This wasnt my problem. I had to pull the dishwasher out (after unplugging) found the impeller motor, opened it up (tutorials on youtube) and found it clogged. I cleaned it, put the dishwasher in its place and it worked fine. Free fix!

My dishes were gritty on the top rack. 2 of the end holes were clogged just cleaned them out and I bet this fixes it! Thx for posting!

What if the agitator is clean but the top rack still isn't getting clean?

My Whirlpool has two pumps underneath that are relatively easy to turn and remove. I am assuming one for recirculation and one for drainage. I found my recirculation pump completely clogged with soggy paper and hair. Definitely led to poor pump circulation/efficiency and prevented pressure getting water to the top rack. Easy fix and giving to my son.

I have a whirlpool dishwasher that the top,arm doesn’t move. Water sprays out but doesn’t rotate around. Spray arm holes are clean along with the filter.

I'm screwed. Every video is cleaning it. Mine isn't old and it's not spinning. It's like the pressure coming into the washer itself it too low

    • @charlesflanigan5398
      @charlesflanigan5398 11 місяців тому

That shouldn't matter how low the pressure coming into your house it sounds like you have a bad pump the motor or pump would create the pressure to wash the dishes not the house water pressure
      Good luck

Before replacing the pump try these. This may help with increasing the pressure to the upper arm. Check the 2 filters in the bottom of the dishwasher. My issue was the rubber part on the back that meets the wall was too old and didn't make a good seal anymore. Less water pressure I'm thinking. Just ordered a new arm that includes that rubber part. $40. Hope it works.

I believe my dishwasher is like yours on the top rack on the bottom there’s a funnel that’s supposed to slide over the pipe. Well mine is going on top of it. How do I fix that?

What if I’ve already did that and it still isn’t coming clean, like top dishes are dry? What’s the next step?
