33:36 enemy rolled an energy and you said they aren't on any planets with energy but the AI base galaxy counts as both energy and culture. I'm just playing my first few games but that's the only mistake i spotted. Other than that great video.
Holy cow! Haha ive been playing this game wrong! Ill pin this comment to let the viewers know! Thanks for watching my video and the rules help pirate painter! ☠🎨!!! 🤘😁
@@redbeansdice6151 yeah it certainly makes the game harder as right from turn one if the Ai rolls a energy or culture they get 4 right away. Still fun tho
Pirate painter: how does that work? does the AI receive a +1 energy +1 culture on the Galaxie track - if the AI rolls one energy? I'm confused here. I read the solo rule but I'm not sure.
@@chaindriven61 no it doesn’t acquire both but any ships on the AI home base card count as either energy or culture if you look at the icons near the top of the AI card you’ll see both icons and an arrow pointing down. So just because the enemy doesn’t have any rockets on a planet doesn’t mean they don’t get energy or culture as home base always counts as those for the AI too. Does that make sense? The AI is brutal as even on the home base they’ll gain both where as your home base only produces energy. You’d have to be on a plenty for culture.
@@The_Pirate_Painter I see it! thank you kindly for the clarification. Have a great night!
Best,
Greg
Thanks! great explanation and enjoyable to listen to while learning the solo game :D
Glad you liked it Ella! Thanks for checking out my video and the compliment! 🤘😁
great video! Thanks for doing this!
No problem James! Glad you enjoyed it!
i like it..beautiful looking game!
Hi and thank you for posting the video, it's helped me so much. Question; for the solo rules - I looked for the rule(s) "not to use the planet cards special abilities if in the solo game but I cannot find that rule in the rulebook. I know about using the special abilities if I were in a multi-player game.
Thank you in advance.
Greg
I believe your first roll of energy... you should have taken one for the ship you had on your galaxy mat... correct? About 12:30 in.
Nicholas! Sorry for the late response! I believe I actually messed up and for some reason had a ship movement dice up there by accident! Sorry for the confusion! I should just be rolling 4 dice to start out with so that extra one up there shouldn't be on the mat!!! Thanks for checking out my video! 😁👍
@@redbeansdice6151 Hello, very late into watching this :) but i think he meant when you rerolled your first dice at 1230 ish . you did not collect any energy because you had no ships on a planet card.. but you still had one of your starting ships on your main board. which would collect 1 energy.
I came here to say the same thing. At 12:30 you should have collected 1 energy because you had one ship in your home galaxy mat.
@@redbeansdice6151 that’s not what he’s talking about
Nice playthrough. I still dont know if you have to re-roll the rogue galaxies culture or energy if it has already been maxed out on their same turn either, @44:15 does anyone else know?
I found the answer!
Roll "normal" turn dice
After 5 dice are rolled, Check if any resource is at max.
If energy is max, upgrade and set energy to 0.
If culture is max, roll 3 more dice. DO NOT move culture to 0 until all extra dice are rolled.
If energy is rolled in "extra" phase, energy moves up.
If energy maxes during "extra" phase, it will resolve in step 3 during the rouges next "normal" turn.
Culture dice rolled in extra phase are "usable", but since culture is not reset until after the "extra" phase, nothing happens and they are discard.
I have a question. In the rules it explains using the Rouge Galaxy Activation Bay which is on the back of the regular Activation Bay cards, but watching this video and another solo video both times its not used. Does the Activation Bays make a difference in solo mode?
i’ve just played my first solo playthrough and realised flipping the Activation Bay Card would have help immensely during play, at least for myself 😅 i kept having to remind myself who’s turn was it, had i knew i could have turned the card over soon after ending a turn i wouldn’t need to figure it out lol. also there a rogues action explained on their side of the card which is very helpful. in saying so, it doesn’t necessarily make a difference when you flip the card over. if you remember the rules and can keep track of who’s turn it is you’ll be fine.
Why you have not landed on a planet to gain it's action and instead you have each time tried to colonise ?
Very good question Pawel! My strategy was to try and get the victory points as fast as I could with my limited ships!... obviously my plan was not good because I lost lol. Maybe I should have landed a ship or two on the planets like you said! Thanks for the comment and checking out the video Pawel! 🤘😁
I think you should progress culture 4 not 3, because ship on galaxy map also counts?
Oh nice! Good catch Jacek! If you could give a time stamp of when it happened so i can share it with other viewers that would be appreciated! Thx for checking out my video Jacek! 🤘😁
@@redbeansdice6151 i played first time yesterday (you can read my impressions on solo groups on FB), and I was watching your playthrough to understand the game :)
Thats awesome! I started making these videos to help people out! Glad you enjoyed!!! Ill see if i can check out that post!
@@redbeansdice6151 i recommend solo board gaming groups on FB, you can learn a lot from them about what is popular etc :)
Sounds great! Ill have to check it out!
Everything is diplomacy haha :)
Pretty sure you made me worse at this game. Lots of mistakes that confused me more. I won’t be trusting you for anymore walk throughs.
Post the perfect video then since you’re such a master that never makes mistakes. You don’t have to click on these videos if you can’t handle imperfection. 🙄 SMH
Correct! He used the incorrect terminology and rules for the game.
@@2046mb waiting for your super perfect demonstration too. Interesting how this exact same video is what helped me to understand this game. Perhaps it because I was smart enough to understand what he meant and was talking about even though he didn’t use the terminology that was approved by your highness. 🙄
I've definitely watched videos where people mess up the rules and it's frustrating! Thanks for the honest feedback. I had a lot on my plate and rushed this a bit probably. I also am mildly Dyslexic so sometimes words & reading can be tricky. Love your name & profile pic!!! keep on gaming!
