I thought I would be able to understand Bode and his actions by the end of the game, but they gave him SO MANY CHANCES. At this point he didn’t need to keep fighting them. He even went as far as hurting his own daughter.
They really tried for the sake of his daughter. They knew the pain of losing a parent. But realistically they'd definitely have to somehow imprison him and he probably knew that. So he wanted to either kill them or die trying

Honestly, I have more pity for why Trilla became a tragic villain. Bode’s betrayal is much more selfish and pathetic.

I agree, I felt bad for Kata because her father was a selfish maniac and an imperial sleeper agent too.
It's Anakin attacking Padme in a fit of rage all over again. Bode's love for his daughter was so strong that when he lost himself in Dark Side, it became an obsession. By the end of the game, Bode didn't really care about Kata's well being anymore. He only cared that he would be happy along as Kata was alive even if she would become miserable. Bode will keep Kata alive, even if it means he had to hurt her.
If anything, the running theme of Jedi Survivor is how good men with noble goals lost their way due to loss and trauma.
Honestly Trilla and Bode are the same in how the dark side became a respite of sorts against the empire, which imposed on everyone and there was no escape from. Just look at how Trilla almost came back to the light, only to then be killed by Vader right after, and now you got Bode, who knows Cal's plans to be safe from the empire won't work, so he keeps to his dark ways. On top of that, we got foreshadowing in the end here that Cal might turn dark as well.
Sad thing about all this is that when Bode asked cal if he could protect his daughter and cal couldn't even answer him. Bode was right but he still did too much to leading up to this moment.

@JDog11 he'd do whatever he needed to keep her alive and protect her. He's already doing it now. So he could say with confidence "yes". Cal cannot do that at all.
@@BlackMarvel25 In this context, if doing whatever needed to protect Kata includes betraying everyone else he loves just like Bode had done, I can understand why Cal is too hesitated to give any answer. Because who else does Cal also loves? BD-1, Merrin, Greez and perhaps Zee, that's all he has left, that's everything keeping him from falling to the dark side which is what he fears the most now. I believe we can say for sure that Cal will do everything in his power to protect Kata, anything except betraying his family

Have to be weird as a child to watch your dad go crazy and then have his friends kill him to then be adopted by them. Man I just watched the entire game. Lots of great story points well down. Rayvis was my favorite part should have gotten him in sequel trilogy.
At least she wont blame them considering her dad attacked her too with the force.

Bode said that everything that he did was for his daughter, yet he nearly killed three times in this fight.
The Dark Side is a helluva drug.
That is the corrupting influence of the Dark Side. We've seen it before, such as when the recently turned Darth Vader choked his own wife, the person he turned to the Dark Side to save.

I really like how the underlying theme of the sequel is that sometimes fighting does no good and in those times you just need to batten down the hatches and hold those you love close.
Love how Bode uses form 5 Shien style and Cal uses form 6
Form six was the "master of none" style. Not great at anything, but decentish at everything. It'd be a good form to teach someone young so they could see a little of everything and choose something better.
Cal lost his master, Jaro Tapal during Order 66. And now he lost Cere and Cordova. Except for Bode. He betrayed Cal.

I think Bode turned crazy because he realized that the Jedi will always be hunted wherever they go if the Empire is around so he decides to raise his daughter in an isolated world where no one can hunt them. It is likely he was betrayed by friends who turned him over to the ISB, causing Bode to become its asset. This goes to show how evil the Empire is in causing so much division and betrayal across the Galaxy because of people's mere fear of being eradicated by Imperial forces. Also, I am intrigued by a dark, horrific soundtrack at the end of the final story cutscene which may indicate that Cal is going down a darker path (Cal holding an orange-red lightsaber foreshadow) even though he is avoiding doing so.
Maybe Is cal here other starkiller Is acepta the Darkside AND Lightside (Mace windu the brutal Jedi) of curse Is opinion
Yeah I think if they make a third installament it might center around that idea of him being pulled by the dark side.

You can see cal pause and most likely think about giving him a fourth chance after he wounding him with the first shot (even after just trying to kill them) and then he looks to merin and makes the decision to kill him
Yes I think Cal knew the people he loved wouldn’t be safe even if they kept trying to take him in. They gave him more chances and he almost ended them. So in Cal’s eyes it was necessary.
Bode was almost like canon version of Starkiller with the lightsaber fighting form, prowess, and aggression.

Cere put up a good fight. I love that she died to vader it’s a fitting end that reminds me more of the Jocasta nu legends death. I think it’s a good creative decision and that cutscene is so bad fucking ass.

Cal is totally not good into saving his enemies, so they could redeem themselves later, starting with Ninth Sister and ending with Bode.
I take redemption for Bode as a yes but for Ninth Sister, I take it as a no because the Ninth Sister is too evil for a redemption arc which could make her Near Pure Evil.

Very underwhelming ending tbh. Bode got of to easy, cal should have cut him into the pieces for everything he cost him. I'll give it a 7/10, it did not recapture the magic of the first game. The combat and animations are still very clunky for me.

I was sort of disappointed in this cliff hanger of an ending. I wanted the catharsis’ of facing the dark side and letting go of it. Suppose that’ll happen the next time though.
I think they are planning this to be a trilogy so I imagine the dark side is going to be a major plot point of the next game
I believe that to be the case well as after the ending of the main story, Cal can still "Embrace the Darkness". It does not revert back to blue as it did before you confront Bode in the ISB base.
Ending feels very underwhelming compared to Fallen Order and older Star Wars games imo. The game still looks great, but I expected much more with the ending.
