There's definitely some improvements needed to make this a worthwhile feature. Having only one real shot at tracking, and then having to delve straight into frame-by-frame editing if it doesn't work isn't an elegant solution. Having some way of selecting tracking zones and setting the size of tracked areas, or arranging a grid within the shape to assist the algorithm in tracking would be a great help, even if this comes at the cost of rendering speed. Even just being able to manually adjust one keyframe, then run the process again for the remainder of the clip would be a significant help.
@@VEGASCreativeSoftware Also I understand the first part of my suggestion is a much more technically demanding one that I have zero knowledge of how to make work or how your current tech performs it, but it's a feature I've seen in competing solutions where you can set tracking points and areas against more obvious locations to assist in more accurate tracking. The last bit is more one an ametuer like me would need. Usually if a frame slips tracking, the rest of the frames end up turning to total garbage. So being able to adjust the frame it begins to slip on, then recalculate the remainder, would give me a lot more control over how the final effect works. It's also entirely possible that this is already a feature and I'm just not doing it right! I have loved using Vegas for so many years now from its ease of use and sheer potential, and some of these recent changes are incredibly powerful tools.

How about a video about the new features and fixes in the new Vegas 17 build 353 release please..? There is very little I can find out about it online...
We have a community forum for exactly that purpose! I linked our official announcement below, which includes the patch notes with all of the new features and bug fixes in build 353. www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-pro-17-update-2-build-353--117761/
Not bad. But it's still far from precision. I am asking for it maybe in the next version of Vegas Pro transition zoom in zoom out etc. I really like Vegas Pro! Thank you very much for your commitment to improvement and new functions.
Thank you How will I go about a Curved figure eight? The above show a rectangular mask What about ie. the area around my 2x eyes that I want to do lighter? What and where do I hook it on to? I fiddled and tries it but seem to miss something in the tutorial Can someone help please? Thank you for Vega P:)
So I've successfully tracked text and photos to moving objects? what I would like to know is it possible to apply the motion tracking data to a background. for instance a sky replacement on a handheld shot?
okay, let's say theres a green screen on a picture frame, do u suppose to mask the green screen, or do you mask the picture frame and the green screen?
Key out the green screen, then mask and track it. If you get a good key, then the masking doesn't need to be amazing. It just needs to be good enough so that you can track an image onto it.
it does a tiny amount of the keyframes but not all of them. Then one time i got this error "vegas 17 an error occured during the current operation. an argument was out of its legal range" Any fixes?
Ouch. I'm sorry to hear you have such a harsh experience with this feature. Can you give us your input as to why you dislike it? I would love to pass your comment onto our development team.
@@VEGASCreativeSoftware First I would say that it is far from intuitive. I have used movie studio for a few years and recently decided to upgrade to Vegas Pro. You can see in my account I do not make hugely complicated videos but the allure of being able to attach a logo and have it follow perspective would be a huge addition. The issue I am currently having would be once it is tracked the angle is off and trying to correct is vastly difficult. I had a rolling car shot and wanted to have names fly by on the side and could not get it text to stick to a location without issues. It would do weird angles and not be at the place desired. Basically something that Seemed simple but is rather not.
Think you I have a blue eye from a home invasion How do I put my left eye over my baggy blue right side? hi ,I'm currently using sony vegas 16 , I found that picture in picture is actually different to vegas 17, there is no free form option available, any ideal how to solve it as there is some curved which require to drag manually ? thanks

Looks a lot better than the first release of motion tracking in Vegas. Still some work to do, though, but at least there's progress.

Hi, thanks for the video. Could you kindly walk us through on how to edit the frames manually?

The motion track area will always be rectangular, but you can add a Bezier mask to limit your color correction to any shape you want.
*WOW tracking??? great :)*

In Vegas Pro 18 Suite, the "tracking" option does not exist within the Bézier Masking effect. This is normal? If so, what would be the alternative?
i have the same problem. In Vegas 17 i can use the Tracking option but in Vegas 18 it's not there

the Tracking is more easy in a magix pro X . there are to much manipulations in vegas pro for that. So I use Mocha pro for the moment.

I'm not sure what you're referring to. No changes were made to the program in that area between versions 17 and 18.
how to do manual trracking
You can use keyframe animation to position things exactly as you want to frame by frame.
how to do this in Vegas 18?

First, nice video.
Try but very tough as the vehicle keep moving away from me the plate is getting smaller
Sorry to hear that. We will make a note of this for future development.
it just tracks in oval, diamond...in curve, after marking the dots and tracking (play start), at play it doesn't track at all...
請問vegas會出繁體中文的介面嗎?
