Hey mate, I was wondering if you could help me. I try to play mortal empires as Mazdamundi with Steel Faith overhaul. A problem arise when fighting Skeggi, who has between 4-7 hounds of pestilence, and my units in the beginning can't match them. Do I just suck or do you have a way to deal with them?

@milkandcookies dude these lore videos are awesome! You have me hanging on a thread with these. I want to start reading about all this. What should i start with as far as timelines? Could you give me a couple of trilogies to start with please?
The Gotrek and Felix books are great as are the Malus Darkblade books. There is also a series of books called the "Time of Legends" that goes into various events in the history of the Warhammer world from Sigmar to the Sundering. If you can get a hold of one, the old army books have the entire lore and history of the various factions.

Big fan of your lore videos, great job as always. When Total War : Warhammer was announced i knew barely anything about it's lore except for the factions, since i am more of a 40k guy. But your lore videos really helped me getting up to date and made the game so much more enjoyable.

1. She could have a version of the High Elf's intrigue like you said but could cause vampiric corruption in the land of the target factions when she uses it.
2. Additionally her agents could be invisible on the campaign map unless a faction has their own agent close enough to see them. Maybe upon completion of an act against an enemy faction she could make the diplomacy penalty for actions affect a different race. Say you assault a bretonnian garrison but make the brets think that the dwarfs or wood elves did it instead of you.
3. She could get percentage bonuses to actions while inside the territory of a faction she trades with for each trade good being exchanged. So if tileans are trading wine and exotic animals and she is trading marble and diamonds then that would be x% times the number of trade goods (here 4). Maybe make it 2 percent per trade good so with 4 trade goods being exchanged that would be a 8% increase in action success while in Tilean territory.
4. She could have a mix of VC and TB units available like Arkhan the black.
5. Serious penalties to diplomacy with Dwarves.
Thoughts?
I'm ok with some of the vc units but they'd need a new skin and maybe some human special units like lahmian legion or a guerilla unit called lahmian protectors

Well, I purchased the Time of Legend collection since I thought that would be a good starting point and I'm curently reading the Sigmar Trilogy. Finished the second book recently. Really enjoyed it. The world they create is incredible and I feel like I barelly just scratch the surface of it.

Personally I prefer the Rise of Nagash version where Arkhan teaches her the necromancy.

I love these lore videos and how they would work in total war, as I have never been interested in the war hammer universe before now. These give me some great backstory to potential characters and factions that I don't know about when I play the games.

Call me crazy but I think Game 3 will see a Elector Counts DLC and perhaps more likely a Kislev at the Gates DLC. If game threes factions are Chaos Dwarfs, Chaos Daemons, and Ogre Kingdoms, giving us Kislev as a fleshed out faction that can go east an kick ass and take names with bear cav and winged hussars just makes alot of sense.
Kyle Vidauri +1 game 3 feels lacking content if they dont implement the alternative army lists and minor factions (pls i want the karak kadrin slayer army list!)
Well, we're getting Kislev, and as base content too, so I'd say your comment aged pretty well.
She had one of the best parts in the End Times, defending the last humans together with Khalida.
Never read the End Times, for cringe reasons... but that sounds almost feels-worthy. Really liked both of those characters.

Unnamed Shadow Doubt it'd happen unfortunately. They wouldn't give out something for free that would unlock paid content. And the only real changes to DLC races we've seen have either been balance changes. Or the regiments of renown.
She is a vampire faction not a tomb king faction so she would use vampire and skeleton units mostly and be tied to the Vampire Counts due to her being one... likely mostly skeletons and some own unique ones. If shes added I hope they name the Vampire Coast LL like the Red Duke. :) I dont mind if they do a few of these than full LL that are playable just to get them into the game (less meaningfull ones but still big enough to be worthy of a new modell and name). I do think however Nef will be an LL at some point.

I think you are right on the money with this video it makes a tonne of sense. Although they could still turn to the more unusual characters for the third instalment sort like they did with the regiments of renown with heroes that have particular alignment? Like gotrek and Felix? Or thanquol and bone ripper? Just a thought.
ACO soundtrack, NICE touch. On a side note, how and where would these characters of importance would fit? Where would Neferata fit? What about that warrior that died after that battle with Nagashs? It's doubtful that Alcadizaar would be seen as a character. Part of his whole deal is that among all the Nehekharans, he is the only one who achieved peace in death.
As a hero for Nagash would make sense. I would have liked her trying to reclaim Lahmia but even a small role as a hero would work or a quest battle in the Tomb Kings campaign.

I like the image of Neferata at 13:10. It's kind of a cross between the Ancient Egyptian esthetic of Nehekhara and the Gothic esthetic of the vampire counts. It would definitely make for a model in WarhammerTW.

As much as I love her, Neferata was an awful queen whose selfishness, arrogance, and cruelty made her people live in terror, reduced Lhamia to an oppressive shell of its former greatness, and led to her kingdom's total destruction by her (rightly) pissed former allies. By contrast, Khalida was a great queen whose wisdom, piety, and care led her realm into a golden age of military and cultural glory, and earned her the adoration of her subjects and utmost respect from other kings and queens (even Settra).
And behind neferata is Nagash

a nagash factions for the third game would be cool. Nagash and neferata as the LL,. They coul dhave a mix of tk and vc units plus the ones that came out during endtimes like the morghast
We will see Neferata as a sub faction DLC half tomb king half vampire counts......access to unique constructs starting position and using primarily tomb kings mechanics. She would have access to necromancers..black and blood knights vampires zombies felbats, hounds ect and access to skeletal archers and forego some of the tomb kings chariot units and constructs....and honestly VC should also get t1 archers with this release as well. How do I know? CA will not turn a blind eye when tomb kings drops to how they will impact the game and shift the undead mechanics...and honestly Neferata is highly popular on the tabletop as a lord on her mount she is possibly one of the coolest units in the franchise. HIGHLY doubt CA will just ignore her...at the very least she will be a dlc legendary lord for tomb kings....with maybe getting access to vampire stuff through diplomacy. Exciting none the less we can only hope.

As much as I hate the Vampire Counts and wouldn't want them to get the time of day after TWW1, Neferata is the only addition to the roster I want to see happen.
Neferata was available in 6th edition too. She came with her cat Batset.

I thought CA said that game 3 wasnt going to be an End Times addition? There are a lot of legendary lords that need to be added for it to work..... It has the potential to be a huge campaign.....
I think when nagash comes into the game he should start off with only vampire count units but he could subjugate or confederate a tomb king army to gain access to there units he could do the same thing with the jade blooded the vampire coast and the silver pinnacle and Mousillon as I imagine all of these would have there own undead units that are/ were unique to them I also think he should have access to so of his own units like the mortarch and I think he should have some kind of unique system that allows you to unlock custom vampire units like foot knights and dismounted blood dragons maybe even human warriors from salvainia I think there should be a vampire warrior hero the salvainian noble and lots more

Vlad in my opinion is one of the coolest characters in the game. He is honorable yet vicious in war. Noble and just but dark and evil.
I love how they took bits and pieces of both the ancient Egyptian, Greek, Persian, Thracians & Celts when making the Vampires, but I would kill to see Abhorash in the game! :D

Great video, sadly neferata suffers from multiple backstory disorder but still has one of the best backstories in the lore. Personally my favorite vampire character in the lore.
yeah End Times changed up quite a bit with her, I tried to go with the stuff that made for the most cohesive and interesting story
she's an awesome character, absolutely deserves to make it into the series
2019 and still no Neferata in TWW2, still Khalida screams for her head.
With the possible implementation of Nagash as a faction (undead legion), there are quite a number of legendary Lords that can make the grade to be honest, 3 of them will all ready be in the game, Arkhan the Black, Vlad and Manfred, Krell is in the game too but not as a Legendary lord (which is what he is when Big daddy is around). Great info on Neferata, you did however miss out a smallish part of her history and that is her relationship with Arkhan The Black. She is one of the few beings that Arkhan actually has emotions for :).
As for the abyssal Mount, Arkhan may actually get one as a mount option, as his appearance from the screen shots are his end times look, This all depends on his magical equipment, as His Tomb Kings version, he has a couple of Nagash's Items including one of the nine books of Nagash, where as end times he has his own
There is no chance of her coming in game 2. Lahmia is not even in the Eye of the Vortex campaign map. BUT like you said, she could come in game 3 with Nagash. However, I don't see how they could come up with a whole new unique roster for Nagash's faction.
As far as VC addition goes... I doubt they would add her as a VC LL since we are in game 2 already. But I suppose anything is possible.
So i recently read the Nagash trilogy and noticed a bunch of differences in a lot of the relationships and events in the books compared to what ive heard and read from other sources. are the books not considered canon? or were they canon at some point then this all got changed in later editions?
End Times came a bit after the 2013 Blood of Nagash trilogy and some things here and there were changed. Like for instance End Times Nagash states that Neferata killed Greenskins to retake Silver Pinnacle, in the novel it was Dwarfs. It is considered canon, but a few things are basically overruled by the End Times armybooks. I prefer the Dwarf storyline, as the Greenskins idea is never really expanded upon and frankly I'm not sure why it was retconned. Its essentially a throwaway line, so its just as likely it was a mistake on GWs part

Yoo. This would be a dope Legendary Lord. Since she hates Ghouls and the rotting corpses, she could literally be pure vampires. She could have Feral Vampires as her "Disposable" Infantry, and have a more vampire-like army.roster instead of having skeles and ghouls.
I've been hoping to see her implemented since I heard about the games. Glad I'm not alone.
I think that neferata is going to be the opposite of Arkhan the Black with a vampire counts army with a few tomb kings units to make her special.

As someone who wants to get into the lore what books would you recommend?
If you like Elves starting with the Tyrion and Teclis trilogy might make a lot of sense. Gotrek and Felix is a good series to start learning about the Warhammer world too
that mechanic for her is fine but i think Neferata's faction/lore/mechanics are too good to be included in a one dimensional game like warhammer 2. she needs an entire freaking game! an open world most likely but man she deserves it

I'm more so looking forward to Abhprash, and Usheron. I'm not much for lots of politicking with my vampires, and would much rather see a melee damage focused, and monster character be implemented. I mean she seems awesome to play but kind of slow as she focuses on manipulations to get what she wants and never leaving her little spot in the mountains

If they did, I imagine it would be possible, albeit very hard, to successfully avert the apocalypse rather than the GW-produced "Rock falls everyone dies" ending.

Marc-andré Deslauriers Yeah but I think that was mainly born because she wasn't throwing herself at him like queen Thotty herself. It annoyed him and beguiled him beyond belief to have a woman so beautiful be completely above his charms till she chose not to be. He was also young and proud before in Nehekara whereas when he came to Sylvania he was much more mature and his pride was much more nuanced than just slapped in your face.

Problem with adding her into TWW2 or 3 is that a lot of her tabvletop stats and abilities come from AoS, making it difficult intellectual property wise
She's a Warhammer fantasy battle character first and foremost though, and originally from that IP. They can make her stats whatever they want. And she's in the End Times armybook as a Mortarch, which is an 8th edition WHFB supplement, not tied to the AoS IP. Getting her in the game wont be a problem, its just whether CA chooses to or not

It's not a matter of "Vampire hating" or whatever label you want to throw at those who don't agree with you, it's a matter of the Vampire Counts blatantly receiving the most care and LLs in game 1. They have 5 playable LLs, meanwhile the most other Game 1 factions have is 3-4 and Wood Elves/Norsca are sitting in a corner with 2.

You talk about what she can offer, not the elephant in the room that is Vampire Counts love. Having her as an addition for Nagash would make the most sense, especially with her seat of power being near the Darklands. I think she could also work as an "Arkhan" of sorts (TK general with VC units), but with more focus on Vampires while still retaining certain units that she would likely have for aesthetic/lore reasons.
