3:20 just gotta say, that artist makes the best warhammer stuff. One of the 40k rulebooks was full of his work and it just made the imperium look so beautifully dirty. Same with fantasy. I haven't found anything for the empire but I hope there is something. Edit: remembered his name, John Blanche. Wonderful art.
The way you describe the novels makes them sound really interesting! I've never read the Warhammer fantasy books I've only read 40K books so far. This story sounds badass though
Interesting vid, Indy! I just want to express my love for a ship that has a giant f'ing hammer on the prow that actually smashes other vessels. I can't wait to see what the Lizardmen and Skaven dlc bring us in the future, but as far as I'm concerned I think we have enough factions in the game. Amazons always seemed more like an auxillary to the Lizardmen to me thought beyond that I'm a little fuzzy on their lore (I also recall a Slann mage-priest who actually took invaders of his temple-city and used them as lobotomized supplements to his own forces). Araby could be neat but in addition to being fuzzy on their lore as well that portion of the map also seems a little crowded as is what with the Tomb Kings all over the place. I also don't know what their niche would be in regards to other factions. Albion would be a surprise to be sure, but I don't think their roster was ever really big enough to constitute a full faction (would be funny to see if CA would put that active Lizardmen city in the middle of Albion on the map). Dogs of War always came across to me as more of a hyper-powerful mercenary system. For instance, the Empire does hire Ogres and Giants to fight for them. The Dogs of War mercenary bands could work like Regiments of Renown but with far more specific requirements and in some cases higher hiring costs. Perhaps they could be hired by any faction and one way to get a hold of them is to defeat the army they currently reside in.
@@TheIceDragon225 Wrong game, witch hunter perhaps but their squad army broke and ran from a victory I'd played on table top some years ago. It was a multi-faction battle and I think Estalia or Tilea came out on top.

Perhaps a Panther Knight (I think they were big on purging). Ah well, to some degree I'll miss Fantasy tabletop-I'm glad they put it in game form. I won't miss some of the more stupid rules like not letting my pirate faction fire into a crowd of ogres and something else (neither were part of my faction) because the 2 were in melee combat. (At the time I was WTF I didn't care about either one of them so why not shoot both?!). Thankfully that nonsense did not make it into the game. Yeah, CA gave her skilltree some buffs to the Sartosan Units but they can't even handle low level units well enough and won't be able to compete with anything above an empire swordsman. Maybe some modder (SFO maybe) will buff them enough to be a viable option for a campaign playthrough.
@@Lucitaur Oh, stfu. If we hadn't gotten Aranessa with Vampire Coast we probably never would have gotten her at all. And who else would have been a good candidate with enough lore to support their position as an LL?

Sucks Saltspite had to be shoehorned into commanding the undead instead the living. It also makes no sense she had the same goal as rest of the vampires because she should've been against them. :/
If they ever introduce naval battles, it would have to be in a huge DLC probably a while after the full trilogy is out. Something like the DLC's for Rome 2. I honestly hope they do do that, because making naval would be like creating a whole new game from scratch, and I'd gladly pay the extra bit for it.
I don't care what legal bullshit they have to go through for the rights to do it, I would give them money for naval battles in Total War Warhammer, 11:28 I'm here as I type this comment, and I have to tell you, I know too I know, they licensed the naval stuff to another company, but wouldn't you like to see that in a Total War game? It's gotta happen. We need to make a petition. TAKE OUR WALLETS CA AND GW!
legal rights really arent the issue when it comes to Dreadfleet or Man'oWar Naval battles, CA could easily procure the license to those things if they wanted them I think. Pretty sure GW would be willing to give them access to any part of the IP they wanted with how well the Total War Warhammer trilogy has been handled. The question is it worth it for CA to flesh those things out when there is still so much left to do in terms of the major races of the Warhammer world, and the fact that WHFB is land battle focused. and the answer is no, probably not. Not when the Daemons of Chaos, Ogres, Chaos Dwarfs, Warriors of Chaos rework, and additional content for game 1 and game 2 races still need to be done. When its all said and done, perhaps they will return for naval battles, and it could definitely be awesome, theres a lot to do there. But I definitely dont think it takes priority over adding as much WHFB content as possible, and that means major races and armybooks first
Absolutely, if they have to wait then I'm perfectly fine with that. I'm worried they're going to get rid of naval battles in general with what's going on with Three Kingdoms. Maybe someday.
Its would never be Dogs of war, due to it being only part of the Old realms. Every Major race pack added was involved with the Vortex campaign in some way. And i just dont see that from the dogs...
Dogs of war and southern realms have tons of locations they could be put on the vortex map, the entire purpose they serve is wandering bands of explorers and conquistadores of the new world. but neither the Vampire Coast nor the Tomb Kings were involved in the race for the vortex in any way shape or form. and CA have already shown the ability to heavily alter the mortal empires and great vortex maps between patches as well. if they wanted to Dogs of War, they definitely could
The New World Colonies literally use the banner from a Dogs of War unit (Pirazzo's Lost Legion). As for boring? Seriously? The mercenary bands include Ogres, Halflings, Undead, an Elf on a big dragon, a Werebear with a unit of Marauders, Orcs with crossbows, Slayer pirates. Even the humans have cool stuff like some blokes in flying contraptions as those designed by Da Vinci. Plus duellists, very heavy cav, crossbowmen with pavises and various unique and colourful blocks of pikemen. And did I mention Slayer pirates?
I doubt that a naval battles update will ever happen, simply because it's impossible to balance a game with artillery, giant monsters and magic into fighting over some ships
none of this is fact.. i just watched PotC: At World's End, this is a very poor synopsis of that movie.

It was released in 2011, and quickly swept under the rug when it didn't sell.

Tabletop.
Awesome lore, but it only reminds me that we will never see Aranessa with a proper pirate crew :|
