The piano is a 1941 and was Horowitz's Piano and Eugene Istomin's. It has been taken very well care of and is definietly not past it's prime. If anything, it's in it's prime! We have two actions for it and Jean-Efflam picked the American Action for this performance, a perfect match for Ravel!

Bavouzet is a magical pianist playing beautifully on a Steinway way past its prime-from late 60s or early 70s maybe.
His Haydn sonatas are the best as well as his recordings of Debussy.

Title of this piece is french for "water game". Makes a lot of sense as a trickle or water-fall of notes!
