A tip that my trainer gave me after I panicked in open water is to keep my eyes closed when the head is in water ''looking down''. And I open the eyes only when breathing or for checking where I'm going.
Ciao Patrick! I’m just entering the triathlon world and you’ve been a great help so far! Run my first half marathon in may, just bought a road bike and I’ve been swimming for three months now! I’m planning on doing my first sprint triathlon this summer and it would be great to do it with some Sumarpo equipment 🤩 fingers crossed 🤞🏻
HeyPatrick! I start my triathlon training on the 4th of July. I wanted to work with a coach to improve me on the bike. Then he talked me into triathlon...
Thanks for the tips! I did my first 70.3 a couple of weeks ago and due to not enough preparing in open water I panicked. Couldn't get my breathing and heart rate down for some reason, I had to lie on my back for 10 seconds every few minutes, I thought I would get pulled out and DNF! I calmed down and for the 2nd half I was able to feel good and complete the swim ok. Since then I've tried to get into open water once a week at least. Great tip to go in to the water with jammers rather than wetsuit, this will get me used to it. Music is an interesting one, I've never considered it, but as I go on to swim longer distances I might try it, thanks! The giveaway prizes look great!! I need those shades 😎 need something comfortable for my rides, currently use regular sunglasses which don't fit very well and let dust into my eyes during rides! That's why I need it! 🚴🏼♀💨
Thank you for the tips 🙏🏽…I don’t want to give a sad story but on June 12th I was going to compete on my first Olympic distance triathlon. I had already done 2 sprints which were fairly easy so I knew it was time to challenge myself. The race was taking place in a big lake which I wasn’t worried since I’ve done open water swimming before but in calm waters. Little did I know, the lake we were going to swim for the race was not calm. It had a current with small waves so when I was 300-500 meters in I had felt the first wave and started to panic. Around 800-1000 meters i started to overthink and quit on myself. It was hard to overcome my failer the next couple days but I am back on my feet and started to run again. I have learn from that situation and put it behind me so I can focus on my next big challenge which is Lubbock 70.3 next summer. Pray for me 🤣
You got this louis, it sound like that lake had a lot of extra complications that are not usually there - I feel you on the waves, tallin was the same! Your next race will be way better I can guarantee it
I wish I could win this gear. I am just starting to train for an Ironman 70.3 and have no real gear. I been watching videos on dos and donts so I know what to do.
I'd love to win the giveaway as I'm training for my first triathlon this August in London. Triathlon training is hard, especially trying to fit all 3 sports in around my full time job and winning the Summaro kit will help me smash my first race. p.s. Love all your tips Patrick your channel is great

I’d love to win the giveaway! I’m a cyclist and just started training for triathlon. I’m a no -swimmer so it’s a huge challenge, but I’m fronting up to every training session and doing my best. It’s hard but I’m seeing improvements every time.

Great tips Patrick, the anxiety has been a major challenge for me in open water. Once I master this I hope to do tris and eventually do a half iron.
Thank you Ephriam! Open water is a tough beast to tackle 👹 I wish you all the best and know that you can do it!
Just what the doctor ordered before my first 70.3 in September!
This was great,The tip about swimming faster is a great one. I am going to use that. Thank you
I will use this equipment to prepare for triathlon and competitions. And one day for Ironman.
Lots of lakes here so open water is the (only) way to go. Also cycling there for a double workout. Means I would use the whole kit in every session!
Great video and amazing giveaway. I love the Sumarpo wetsuit!!!! This giveaway will go great along it.
Great video man!! You are such a gem
❤for training open water 🙏
