    Thank you for taking the time and effort to do such comprehensive testing. This video and your other testing videos are very informative. I have the same detectors except my GPX 5000 is not modified. The GPX 5000 and GPZ 7000 have both found considerable weight in small and large nuggets for similar time spent. The GPX 6000 has found many more small nuggets with a few large ones but not as much weight for time spent. Each has good and bad points.
    Have a great day,
    Chet

    Great test! It's not really fair to expect a 25" DD to beat a 19" mono coil though, is it? The 25" DD is more like a 25x12" elliptical mono given how a DD works, which means it should be expected to perform similar to 18" or 19" round mono, but with DD capabilities. Would have been great to compare the NF 25" Evolution (mono) instead.

    Hi Maurice ,a great idea for a video,would be to plant a large target at a depth where the 5000 is UNABLE to get a RESPONSE AT ALL, in the stock standard settings that yr using at the time, and then put it in modded mode and then see if you can get it, you do great videos anyway, but that’s what I would like to see, I’m getting a modded 5k too, but mick can’t do it until June for me, thanks Maurice👍😃

    Great video, I am Glad to find your channel. I have been looking for someone that does exactly this! I am new infact I am doing research to determine the best Mindlab to get into. I was planning on the Gold Monster 1000 but I was told it is just for hobbiest not professional guys like you. I'm a little perplexed on what to buy to get started as it seems mindlad prices them by the model number and I can't afford $7000 for a detector yet. Also can you mod the 1000 like you did for the 5000?

  • @robmadaffari6270
    @robmadaffari6270 7 місяців тому +1

    Both are great videos, however had you used the 7000 in normal mode, the target response would have been almost equal to that of the 5000 with mods if not louder. I suspect the modified version would be a crisper tone.. If you are knowingly look for big gold with a 7000 you would run in normal, extra deep with the sensitivity cranked up. (deal with the extra noise but you will never miss anything within range of the coil). Having said that the 7000 deals with EMI's very well. The modified machines would be excellent for people who do not wish to commit to the expense of the 6 or 7000 or who already own a 45/5000.

      iyo how deep would the 7000 go on large solid gold in the 1 to 5 toz range? I have an SDC2300 and its quiet by 30cm out in the air and probably only practically useful at 25cm for such pieces...to my surprise. Still debating with myself over what I should buy for deliberate targeting of large gold in rubbish free ground with some hot rocks

    A few comments and observations. 5000 standard was getting that target easy. Did you try Enhance or just Fine Gold? Also, I wouldn't be using Quiet Audio as that chokes the audio a little. If you do, you need to back off the Stabilizer (higher numbers). For a big target at depth, DEEP audio type is the go. On the GPZ the signal was more defined in Low Smoothing. I can only use Smoothing off when my sensitivity is quite low, otherwise I find that borderline target signals get lost in the extra noise. That 17"x13" has been glued to my Zed ever since I put it on. It punches deep, and still very sensitive. At the end of the day, let's be honest, none of the combos tried missed it. Maybe the 6000 in Auto 1 was the only one that wouldn't pull you up.

      Hello I have a question on the frequency switch and manual tune knob ,speci manual tune around 255 ? Tiny maybe 180 to 200,Large or Big 90 ,What I ask if you bracket the frequency switch into 8 divisions and split the manual tune into 8 divisions.Does that work to best of the mods ability.Cheers

    Try it in hot ground the 6000 and 7000 will win hands down, the gp series will drive you mad trying to dicifer a target from ground noise , there's a reason why there's a huge price difference,

    Your videos convinced me to modify my 5000. It took a couple of hours of adjusting to the more noise of the 5000 but after my first gold i am impressed. Using a NF 12 x 8 and in tiny frequency and 3 o'clock i have found speci's with pinhead size gold within 100mm. BB bullets are easily found. Same settings with 15inch evo NF found gold weighing 0.1g at 100mm. Also found small bolts at 300mm easy. About to try the 19inch NF next. I have a 25 inch, but is the mono version so hopefully not noisy.
    What manual tune settings you operate at? Is the setting affect sensitivity?

  • @beergold
    @beergold 9 місяців тому +1

    A few points, on a standard 5000 how would the response have been if the gain was raised?, and the 7, what if the setting was in normal or deep?
    I can tell you i did this test many years ago at Castlemaine in the side of an old timers hole, i cut the top off a coke can and laid it flat at a measured 1metre and with my SD2200d on its deepest setting with a stock 11in dd coil gave a strong signal, i can't remember if i raised the coil to see how far above the ground the coil picked it up, but i'm confident i would of got another 15-20cm , that around 4ft, those machine are incredibly deep, but then we must also remember that any ring shape gives the very best signal as that specific shape produces the most powerful eddy currents, try cutting that disc with pliers into a jagged shape and watch the depth almost halve.
    By not showing the best settings on each machine your testing comes across as disingenuous and that there might be an agenda at play, but i won't go there, to truly be thorough with this kind of testing could take many hours and would be best documented so then you have something to refer to, i have been wanting to do this myself but don't want to waste time when i get out to the goldfields, but i will do it once i can get down to Vic and spend a few days so i can really get an understanding of my 5 and 2200d.

    • @eurekagold
      @eurekagold  9 місяців тому +2

      I agree with you the best testing is on undug targets such as ua-cam.com/video/eOAPc2T4Ssw/v-deo.htmlsi=BVImdHV9CR7Zk8yi . I have no agenda at all I am just trying to show a target response on different coils and machines I know there are many variations but still need to compare to something . Any way as I said on the thumbnail you decide . But I hope it helps someone Testing takes a long time and videoing and editing . Most people won’t do that work . Always more to learn and I’ve been doing since 1979 and still learning . Cheers

      The 2200d is proven on large gold over the years but to get 4ft on an 11" and a dd are you serious 😂😂😂

    • @beergold
      @beergold 5 місяців тому

      @@ozyprospector If you can get a hold of one try it yourself, but i can tell you, ground is everything, i'm pretty sure if i had done that on some highly mineralised ground in say Wedderburn for example, i would of struggled to hear it at 3ft.
      I have some more that will blow you away, i did this test recently at Watts gully in Adelaide hills.
      5cent piece laid flat buried at 15inches, with the 15in Detech Ultra DD on the SD2200d i could hit it at another 6 inches above ground that's 21 inches, that's ZED depth, and my 5000 with a 14in Detech Ultra Mono set in SHARP i could also hit it at 21 inches.
      Do you own a ZED? i would be really interested if someone with a ZED could do this test on its deepest setting to see if you can get this same or better depth?

    It appears to me, that the moded 5000 seems a little noisy. Would a Double D coil be a alternative coil option here? I guess it's a trade off between larger targets and a little more ground noise.
