  • Many students think that remembering and using complicated words will improve their IELTS scores. Many websites and UA-cam videos say that you should learn a list of complex words and use them to boost your vocabulary score. This is wrong.
Why? Watch the video above to find out.

The IELTS people use very good passages for reading section. So after finishing my reading section (i had 15 min in hand), I picked 5 difficult words from these passages. And started to scribble them on scratch paper.
In my writing section i smartly used these words, and viola i scored 7.5 in writing with overall score 8.
I am not saying that this is the best way, but even good english users can have thought block under time pressure.
    But Chris knows the best

@@Ieltsadvantage Thanks! the problem here is that there are hundreds of schools and centres that teach students a lot of bad habits including so-called ''advanced' vocabulary and advice that an examiner or experienced IELTS trainer would never give. De-progamming students and getting them onto natural, context based learning is one of the first steps to IELTS success.

It is true but in my locality people are only willing to spend time on watching UA-cam and spending time on memorising difficult words which can magically enhance their scores but are not willing to learn from the articles or the books because they find them time consuming. After doing all these things or spending enormous amount of money on taking the classes, they think that teacher have a magical drink or something like that with which they can give exams in 15 days or less. Like is this a joke?
I love your methodologies and just wanted to know that how many band scores Task 1 and task 2 consists each.
