about the button, you could use those "webcam privacy covers" and jb-weld or superglue it into place. Since then, its openable (make sure to choose a webcam cover that is kinda tricky or a little bit finicky to open so the guy with coat hanger cannot open the cover) and you can still open the cover and use the button.

I just did a video on a Ainiro safe, I easily pry it open in 13 seconds. I have no doubts I could pry open this safe just about as fast. Thanks for the comment..

While I agree with you that these aren't meant to be high-security bank vaults, I do think that they should provide better security, given what's inside them. Something can both be quick to open and hard to lockpick/brute force; those two concepts aren't mutually exclusive.
I also agree that their general purpose is to temporarily keep children/teenagers from accessing a firearm, and that safety through obscurity (i.e. hiding stuff well) is the best way of doing things. However, kids/teens are way smarter than we give them credit, and they can use the Internet to find easy ways to open these, once they find out where you keep them. All it takes is a longer shower/trip to the supermarket for them to get to your gun while you're gone.

Older kids or teens should be taught gun safety in the first place. And everyone should have a pulse on dangers in their household. If you have anyone in your home that could have any motivations to use firearms to hurt themselves or someone else then these are not the right safes for you. The best you can buy in this class of small safes is Fort Knox they are physically tough and can't be picked, but HandJob Safe has a video on how to drill one hole into the Simplex lock to enter the safe. Only a real UL-listed safe is going to provide the protection you are talking about. Thanks for the comment.

Honestly, I just wish someone made steel lock boxes so that you could use your own padlocks. Seems every damn small safe has a hack to get in. And UA-camrs like Handjob go out of their way to show ways to hack into safes that could get someone killed. I spent $8000 and over a year researching and testing these products, and nothing exists that could keep a motivated person out for too long, and you can thank Handjob Safe for that as well. Got to get those views.

@@exoctactical6153 I agree. I'd argue that any first time gun purchase should come with a mandatory gun safety/education course. We have those for cars, motorcycles and other potentially dangerous tools; why not for firearms too? Basic stuff like "Don't aim at what you don't want to hurt", checking if the gun's clear, etc.
Yes. However, sometimes there isn't the motivation to hurt themselves; just a "I want to interact with that cool gun/emulate someone on TV/the Internet" sort of instinct everyone has while growing up.
I love your idea of steel lock boxes; the issue is that they want their profit margins. If they only sold you the box itself, people would consider skipping the profit margin and making them at home/asking a friend.
Regarding ways of hacking into safes: I'd argue that's a good thing. Imagine you were unaware of amazingly simple hacks and bought a gun safe, thinking it's a great product, only for someone else to open it via basic trial-and-error and something bad happening... exposure of flaws can improve a product, no matter what it is.
You're welcome. Thank you for making this video; it educated me a bit on the purpose of gun safes.

I didn't know "hand job" safe LOL was such a douche. He seems mild mannered and should know better then to do something as low as copywrite strike a small channel. It does seem like he's the lock picking type, rather than a gun guy. I've been watching a bunch of videos for a night stand safe and decided on the Fort Knox with the Simplex lock. I think people should get "real safes" and I want quality myself, but many cannot afford that and it is really just something to keep the kids out. Even with a full size, Made in USA safe, someone who knows what they're doing can get in if you're gone on vacation. So, having a decoy and then hidden main safe, "security mindset" is still important if you're serious. Bottom line, most people aren't "safe/lock appreciators" and just need to keep their kids out and can't afford a several thousand dollar or 5 figure safe that's super legit.

Thanks for you perspective on this, I could have appealed the strike, and easily won, but I do believe it comes off completely this month. I just didn't want to provide Hand J my name and address. But your are right, there is nothing truly safe in this class of gun lockers.
When it comes to security people need to know the limitation and uses for these lockers, and if its a $80 or $400 locker, I plan to show you best uses and limitations.
Your last point is on point, I wish I could tell everyone buy a Fort-Knox, But in real life you can only afford what you can afford.

When it comes to these small safes, they both mirror a lot of views. Just check out LPL's Hornady RFID safe video, he says that children can easily pick it open with his $60 tubular lock tool. At the end of the day if you have any real security problems you may just need to buy a real safe.
