    Poor Dave. I think if you would have told him by taking the slim off the line with his lips he would have caught more fish he would have done it. Seriously it happens that way sometimes, one guy just has the mojo. Great trip and video. Keep them coming.

    Nice catch. Hope your hand gets better.
    I am right handed but I can use reels with right or left hand retrieve. I actually prefer the left hand retrieve on rods with longer butt sections because I don't have to swap hands after each cast.

    AJ,Hate trying to use left-hand baitcaster,went trolling the Causeway many years ago with a buddy and I was totally uncoordinated trying to reel in nice speck with my left hand,just hard for this ole boy to do.Had fun time yesterday fishing good bit S of yall and on W side of bridge.Was tough at times with wind wanting to mess with casting,etc and gotta say I really LOVE my new set-up,Daiwa Coastal 200 TWS mated to 7'4" Duckett heavy action rod,dem reds out there plus lunker specks and doormats got NO chance,especially with 17 lb fluro.We noticed the water clarity seemed to get much better with the strong E winds that started ripping before we headed home,around 10:30.My favorite spot did NOT dissapoint,though I lost a log speck,probably every bit of 23-24 inches right at side of boat and my fishing buddy likewise lost a nice speck,probably close to 18 in,and we used exactly ONE color,Vampire in 3.75 in Shaker,think that fat profile entices big fish to attack with a vengeance!!We boxed 6 nice specks,added two doormat flounders and know for sure we missed quite a few.Everyone fishing our general vicinity was courteous and we saw at least 4 yak fishermen and a few boxed some hefty fish!!Coil was indeed the culprit!!

      I thought about just bringing the left hand one but then I thought if something happens like a bad backlash it wouldn’t be good. But I used it for all but one fish.

    Looks like you and David did well Saturday. David wanted to charge you for a bait when he caught the first fish or two, then you started to show the fish who was the boss, you caught up real quick! You could have made money back selling your baits to day! LoL.
    David was ready to move off the cat fish & onto trout!! You must have edited out David taking the catfish slime off of his line per your instructions!! HaHa.
    Looks like Davids boat handled the rough water well and y’all stayed pretty dry.

      If u ever get a chance to catch some sheep head try boiling the meat off the bone with a little CRAB boil and the meat comes out like lump crabmeat and is GREAT for stuffing flounder ( way cheaper than crabmeat )

    Yep,AJ,Like ya always kidded me bout monkey see monkey do-I almost went to E side,maybe we coulda caught a few more and can tell ya one time I did fish the "wrong" side with a buddy and we has serious falling tide,damn red nabbed Shaker and made an easy bee-line towards E side and he ran my line smack dab across a piling and snapped off-was a fine red.It was a chore casting into wind but was even more of a chore getting tight line pronto!!Got awesome tide and weather conditions shaping up for both Mon and Tues and a client with a fine camp on Clara Drive(Carr Drive area)invited me to stop by this Monday.They caught six specks Sunday,got a late start,and said they have been catching fine and fat crabs!!!I did notice as the day wore on,boats started leaving and I lost a fine speck not far from my iconic landmark on NSide and was casting WITH the wind!!Hate Left-Handed baitcasters,leave dat to Lefties!!

    But only caught 2 keepers I'm having a hard hard time getting the hang of this spot I stayed by the Tressel but fishes the causeway side trolling with my 80lb trolling motor wind was killer it was soo hard keeping close enough to cast I wanted to get on the inside where yal was but by the time I got out there water wind tide was too rough it would have been pushing me Into the bridge

      The tide was falling but the wind was blowing east. More boats were on the wrong side. We found it easier to cast with the wind

    • @anthonycyprusjr7829
      @anthonycyprusjr7829 Рік тому

      @@Laproduceman I think either side worked as we fished opposite of the side yall were on and my feeling is the tide shoulda been falling BUT the strong E wind negated a falling tide and we saw plenty fish being caught on W side.Had the tide been falling harder,I woulda ventured to E side.

    • @Laproduceman
      @Laproduceman  Рік тому

      I’m saying it was easier to fish with the wind at our backs but that’s just us as most people were on the west side. Your right if the tide was a falling just a bit harder then you wouldn’t have a choice you would’ve had to fish the east side.

I wish you had edited out that 20+ " trout you kept You know the ones that keep spawn going for our kids to enjoy. Now I wonder if you had truth in what you told me in your response when you wrote to me Yes that BIG trout was released and you were not about to re-adjust your camera just to show the release of that trout in question By MANY watchers that trip.
