Love the Jazz bass with PJ pickups.
I ordered last year a hybrid sand beige and the fretboard was very bad. The middle of the fretboard was ticker then the sides.

I got my aquamarine quilt from eBay. A Japanese vendor was selling his stock on their.
I bet that Fender still uses those crappy switch toggles that you most certainly will replace with the ones from Switchcraft for an additional 30 USD. Matches exactly the mindset of using a crappy 3-saddle bridge on the Tele.. but hey, it's "authentic"..
And for the basses:
- still a crappy position for the truss rod adjustment, but hey it's "authentic".. and it sells them more of their expensive truss rod adjustment wrenches that die so fast (how about trust rod adjustment like on Musicman for once?)
- still a string tree that only goes over D- and G-string, leaving the A-string rattling in that nut (how about a string tree over 3 strings and a height-adjustable brass nut?)
- still using "authentic" grub screws that require a non-metric hex wrench (how about just a slotted screws, where the tolerances are higher and you can adjust the height with even a knife)
Oh wait, it's Fender they don't need to do anything other than having some new configurations and designs. Underwhelming... They can sell you a Fender Mustang PJ MIM with grub screws that don't match with the included hex wrench and when you want to have 3 replacement screws (because ONE actually fits), they want the instrument to be sent in (!!). And yeah, same for the 3-way toggle switch.
