Galaxy S9 FIXED! Black Screen / Won't Turn On/Off (2 Possible Solutions)

- If you have the black screen on your Galaxy S9 or S9+ and you can't turn on/off (reboot) try these two easy possible solutions.
1: Press & Hold both Volume Down and Power button at the same time until you see the Samsung logo. If no go give it a few more tries and if still no go, try option number 2.
2. Same as option number one but this time you also want to plug in your charging cable.
Last week while on vacaction i woke up to a black screen of death on my S9. Usually step number one will get it back up and running however for me, for some reason it only worked after i connected the power cable then did the volume down and power button combo (aka force restart) and my phone came back on. Hope this helps!

I woke in the morning to find the power company in my country upgrading the powerlines, thus no power. I quickly go my anker powerbank switched off my phone and connected my power bank. After 30 minutes I tried switching on my phone but the screen remained blank. I stumbled across your video and tried your solution and it finally came back on after plugging it to the wall outlet and holding down volume rocker and power button for 5 seconds.

Thanks heaps, you saved me. I was using one of those mini fans you plug into the lightning port (it’s now in the bin) and after I pulled it out about 30 mins later I went to use my phone. Even though it wasn’t flat before my phone was now off and wouldn’t turn on. Even when I put it on charge nothing happened. It wouldn’t charge, wouldn’t turn on. I did the volume down and hold home key and viola it turned on! Thanks, and lesson learned lol

My S9 plus just did this black screen of death thing today (it started out fine but never fully woke up like it usually does). I never knew this was a thing with these phones. This trick fixed mine. Didn't need the PC connection but I did have it plugged into the charger. Thank you!

Great help! My S9 died when out taking pics in the cold i assume the cold killed the battery and then it wouldn't charge or turn on but this reset worked a treat wile plugged in and it rebooted 👍🏻

@iLuvTrading Hey! I know this is kinda late but my sister was having the same problem and i told her what to do and showed the video but she was worried if everything would get deleted. So i did it with her to show her that nothing gets resetted. So when i did it, my phone did the exact same thing in the video but my sisters phone didnt do the same. It still shows the leds at the top. I tried it again about 4 more times but it just had the same result. At this point would it be something broken in the phone?
The second trick worked for me. It needed a power source (even if it was charged fully) to do the trick. I waited for like the double restart and boom! Fixed!
Also note on my s21 ultra the same thing happened and the solution is the same.
