Hello. Would you match a pair of brown leather monk straps with light brown chinos, or what kind of pants work the best with monk straps in your opinion ?
Anson belts are hands down the best belts I have ever owned. They seem better than my $100+ belts. Also, you can't even compare to the customer service that they provide. I had questions and a co-founder of the company was the person I dealt with. Amazing, that's one word that describes Anson belts.
Great stuff, Antonio! Probably one of my favorites you've done in a while. I love it when you do videos with more specific instructions. A lot of very helpful guidelines, you didn't focus solely on formal or casual but gave examples and advice on both. Great all around. Keep making videos like this.
Lonnie Davis MUSIC!! Honestly he could wear that jacket with every color possible because it's neutral. Pastels, Dark colors, whatever. If it didn't have that leather shoulder patch it would work well with black too.
I have 1 easy outfit matching rule and I apply it everyday. Wear all black. It's easy and I don't have to worry about matching colors. Also wearing all black makes feel more confident.
This has been one of my favourite videos from you so far. It's very clear and explains in detail all the basics that are needed to make a complimentary or matching outfit. Even someone who only has little knowledge about style would be able to understand this.
Here I was thinking I knew all this stuff from all your other vids.... But then seeing how you synthesized everything, it really added an extra dimension to it. Really nice to see how you keep growing! First getting your info in order, and now expanding by improving your delivery. Now, everyone also understands your thinking process!
I work in sales for suits, have to wear one everyday and this channel has been a godsend, I send guys here and to your app literally every single day. The info graphics and articles have been awesome for showing guys what I mean when trying to explain certain styles or ways to compliment their outfits. Keep it coming man, subscribed for life haha
Real Men Real Style Thanks! Keep it coming. I originally found you on art of manliness a while back but since finding the app have decided to get more involved. Cant wait for more content man. :)
I came across your video while looking for color matching tips to help my son pair up a v-neck sweater with a collared shirt. The content in this clip didn't help me in that specific regard. However, I liked the impressive production quality, clear presentation, masculine tone, consistent cadence, and positive nature that I stuck around to watch the whole video. In a testament to how well you did, I subscribed after my first time visit. That's something I rarely do. Excellent video, I look forward to discovering more fun and practical ways to improve my wardrobe.
Real Men Real Style picking just five would be extremely difficult! Particularly love the ones where you go over the fundamentals. The ones in which you spoke about how to identify good quality garments, taking care of your shoes, and of course, “Fit + Fabric + Function” are some at the top of my head. Keep up the amazing work! :)
I like the point about not mixing levels of formality. Yesterday I saw a man wearing a polo shirt with shiny basketball shorts. . . definitely a stand out look and not in a good way. Antonio hit on this without really point blank saying it: Know what can/can't be dressed up or down, and how far. That keystone navy blazer, for example, can be dressed down for an evening at your favorite pub, or dressed as far up as boardroom formal. Quite a range! A tuxedo on the other hand pretty much has one level to work with. I recommend a simple over the door hook to develop your matching sense. Hang it in a room with good light. You can quickly swap pieces in and out then stand back to take it all in. Saves time of putting on, taking off, buttoning unbuttoning, etc. It's also a great place to get that pocket square just so when you're prepping the next days' outfit, and even hang the next days' outfit to make your morning that much smoother.
the thing that i like about you the most is consistency... antonio.... thankyou for being consistent i watch all of your videos and i have just started to comment on videos .. so i have no idea on what to comment sorry..
Have you made a video on improving posture and mannerisms yet? I try to straighten out and still look like I am slouching in photos or in the mirror. Lurch like. lol
I like how the jacket and shoes complement each other. On the wheel the colours opposite blue are yellow and orange which , when mixed, make black. I am a big fan of boots especially the leather and swayde. These videos have helped so much.
Yet another fantastic video, Antonio! I've always been naturally talented with matching and combining clothes (used to help my sister pick outfits for holiday dinners etc.), but there's always room for improvement. For most of my life I've been chubby, but last November/December I started dieting, and by April I'd lost 20kg. I'm now 20 years old, 180cm, 75kg, and need to refresh my wardrobe. These tips will come in really handy. I'd just like to thank you and the other men's style channels like Alpha M and TeachingMensFashion for helping with motivating me to improve myself physically, as well as with style and confidence/social skills. I can finally walk around in public with confidence and draw attention from men and women alike. My social skills still need some work, as I was pretty quiet and a bit of a loner in school, but I'm getting better every day. I don't think I could have managed it without the support from you and my close friends, so I once again just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have been part of improving my life (as well as many others' lives, I'm sure) for the better, and I want you to know that we appreciate your hard work! - Love, Daniel
Hey Antonio, Great video. I've been following your videos for over year now. Love the jacket you're wearing in this video! Where did you get it from? Looks like a sharp shooter's jacket!
That thing with the color-wheel and the opposing colors was really helpful. I have been thinking a lot about how to match colors, but haven´t really figured out a system. Thanks!
Wow! Thanks for the reply! I am trying to build myself into the novice of style. I just got a pair of sunglasses to go into the summer, but my next step is to get a belt from Anson. They look better than my current belts and my belts are starting to wear out. Do you have a video on how to take care of belts?
Saw your video on the FB group. Seemed perfectly timed with a lot of this topic popping up on it. I feel like it's helped understand the matching/ complimenting better and that some colour rules can be broken when executed correctly. Really like the suede jacket Antonio.
Real Men Real Style Real Men Real Style expermentining I suppose. I don't necessarily agree with you on the matching the formality. Sometimes I match one of my Seamless Wholecuts (which are probably the most formal) with dark wash jeans and a casual white shirt and tend to get a hell lot of compliments. But I suppose this comes into the experimenting part so there isn't any contradiction on your part. Also I loved the explanations of different patterns on the shirts aswell as why you wear darker shirts. Gonna be using that more often.
Real Men Real Style I liked the formality matching point, it's really helpful. Also I liked the idea of matching different fabric and leather textures and patterns. Great video as always, keep it up.
Currently I'm looking for new pieces of clothing and your video confirms what I have in my mind with color choices. I find it very helpful even if I already knew some of your advices from previous videos.
I bought my first suit today to bring in the new year and yep, 9:24 I went with a navy suit and 13:37 I got a white, a grey and a light blue shirt. Next stop ties and shoes. I'm thinking some brown wing tips and a gold and or burgundy tie. Thanks for the tips RMRS!!!
Hey, Antonio! Something you said caught my attention: you have to know what you're doing with brown. Now, I have a dark brown leather vest (NOT a biker vest) that has really gotten me compliments. I'm very attached to it and tend to wear it whenever it doesn't get too hot. I tend to gravitate towards plaid or checked shirts, usually green, red or blue, sometimes a khaki or dark, mustard yellow. It goes well with my body type (I'm athletic, or so the doctors told at the ER) and I usually wear my shirts with my sleeves rolled up to reveal my arms. My question to you is: what else do you recommend to go with a brown leather vest? I'm - once again - very attached to that vest, I made it myself and consider it a signature piece. I'd go as far as saying that people recognize my from that particular garment.
Antonio, I have been addicted to your videos lately, especially the longer ones. Love when you go into the details, however some of the terms you use are confusing me. Guess I Will have catch up. 😁 The video was great and I really hope more like this are yet to come. Thanks
I've always had great results with the reddish-brown palette: oxblood, merlot, burgundy, etc. I'm now looking for a good burgundy cordovan watch strap.
Hey Antonio, if you see this, can you do a behind the scenes of your recording? Like what's the white background and what types of cameras you use and if anyone is helping you, thanks.

Loving the suede jacket! Goes great with the navy shirt.
Love the combo!
Maybe even a notch better with forest green.
agreed- a lot of darker shades go great with leather and suede in my opinion
