    the negotiations between the Greek authorities and the French manufacturer Dassault Aviation have reached an advanced stage. In this context, negotiations are focused on the purchase of up to 10 Rafale fighter jets produced to the F4 standard. Dassault executives are expected to visit Athens for negotiations in the coming weeks.
    The news also states that the Greek Air Force needs to acquire at least 8 to 10 new fighter jets to create a new fighter fleet. In addition, it is stated in the news that the authorized authorities emphasize that the main prerequisite for the retirement of Mirage 2000-5 Mk2 warplanes is the procurement of a sufficient number of new Rafale warplanes to meet operational needs.
    In January 2021, the French government received an order for 18 Rafale fighter jets from Greece. While 12 of these were aircraft previously used by the French Air Force, the other 6 were new warplanes produced according to the F3R standard.
