I am and always will be a fan of Randy. He's a great actor and he has such a great devotion to the fire fighting and paramedic program. Randy may have aged, but he is still very handsome! I watch Emergency everyday, sometimes twice a day, because I record all episodes!
This man has aged absolutely and completely gracefully. He's as handsome as he ever was back in his hey day and still completely sexy as ever. I loved these shows back when I was a little girl and I always had a crush on Randolph. It's nice to know that he is still around and has supported fire fighters like he does!!!
Randolph Mantooth was a pioneer for the Paramedic profession as we know it today, the stories he shares are fantastic. I love the show Emergency and still will watch episodes here on UA-cam or the Television.
I will be 70 this November but back when the show came on, me, my daughter and husband would be glued to the set. So much that my daugther who was around 2 or 3 years old at the time got a crush on him!!! We thought it was so cute how she would barely breath or blink her eyes just to see him. And look at him now, still as handsome as ever and doing so much good with his service presentations all over the country. What actors of this era have done anything even remotely similar? NONE!
Sadly, both my parents are deceased. My dad night b4 what woulda been his 47th bday in '87, n my mom 2011 got ironically suddenly deathly ill afternoon of her 67th bday on June 28. I had to honor her living will early morning of July 5th all alone. :( I am 46 so born in 70. I too was too cute apparently, cuz I watched in a gaze n so had crushes. I DID get a smacker right on the lips from Erik Estrada when I was about 7-8, n got an awesome pic to prove it. Everybody thinks it's funny cuz it was a big kiss!! If John n Roy had been at the old Baltimore civic center, it woulda been them too! Got pic of me w/Lou/Hulk in character, but I didn't choose the kiss! Lol
I remember watching that show every single day, I was fumon' when they took that off because I have cerebral palsy so I wold never be able to pass the test. I also learned a lot watching them and what I didn't know I went up to the firehouse up the street from my house and asked them because they were also like him a firefighter/paramedic, Glad that you are in remission from your cancer as well as myself.God bless all the firefighters and the paramedics for all the hard work they do helping to keep the people safe,
Illumination 70: Some of Mantooth/Gage's scenes require distinct levels of specialized FF training: personal protective equipment, breathing systems, confined space entry/egress, vehicle stabilization/occupant extraction, high angle rope rescue; hazmat. Bet odds that all cast/crew successfully performed the 2 minute drill. Speaking at an advanced trauma symposium, Randy admitted to performing some of his own stunts. Active technical advisors on the set at all times, when the opportunity to get it safe/get it right/get it done is credo. Training/familiarization were part/parcel of any episodes' filming. Only obvious deficit: no latex/nitrile gloves (70s.) Actual FF were cast members. Off duty/non speaking roles that required expertise: vehicle operator (30' Ward-LeFrance is harder than an 48' tractor-trailer,) hydraulic (pump panel) operator (onboard/preconnect/sump/relay FF options.) And yes, I do in fact have an autographed picture of Randy Mantooth. (Take that, Fee Waybil!) EMT-P/CBRN Tech
one has to wonder where the "paramedic program" would be today if NOT for the airtime that this TV show, "Emergency!" received. Thank goodness fr the notoriety it had.....many lives have been saved because of the [programs put into place nationwide!
Great show! Plus it was clean ❤️. The fact that the hospital scenes actually took place in a real hospital makes for authenticity, as well as some of the actors being actual paramedics 😊. Such great memories, too ❤️
SUCH A WONDERFUL HUMAN BEING!!!! JUST SOOO REAL!!!!!! HOPE HE STAYS WELL....CANCER IS A ROUGH RIDE...I HAVE IT...I AM IN REMISSION LIKE HIM... I PRAY FOR EVERYONE ... WE NEED PEACE, TOGETHER WE WILL SURVIVE.. HERE IS TO YOU MR.MANTOOTH...MAY YOU HAVE NO MORE ...PROBLEMS ...PRAYERS TO YOU, YOUR SISTER IN HEAVEN....
I use to watch this show with my dad....I also had a huge crush on Johnny Gage, he was my 1st crush as a little girl, I was about 7 or 8...He's still very handsome and well spoken 😍
Wow! A Hollywood actor with class and not pumping out leftist drivel. How refreshing. I loved watching Emergency as a kid. It was an inspiration for me to become a firefighter. Excellent video. Thanks for sharing.
This was shortly after the incident with the Arizona Hotshots. I watched the show in reruns because I was actually born between the third and fourth season of Emergency. My mother was inspired to give me the middle name of Norell because she liked actor Michael Norell. He was the initial reason I liked Emergency. Randolph Mantooth was years later after realizing we had more in common than originally thought.
I am finally going to see Randy Mantooth My dream is Finally coming true after a 44 yr Dream I can;t wait Until this fall, I keep telling my family and friends to Pinch me, I have been an Emergency fan since 1972, I bought all DVDs and The final, Thank you Lord, for making Randy Better, again, Hes an Amazing man, to me and Others he s Awesome ,
No self-respecting firehouse crew goes without a publicity poster for "Backdraft" (the movie) and with a autographed picture of Kevin Tighe and Randolph Mantooth leaning against the (studio owned) LACoFD Squad 51! It sits along with the Ward La France Engine at the LA County Fire Museum. The engine used in the show was an actual front-line engine by the department. You've heard it said by dozens of guys that those guys are why they became FF/EMT-Ps, including me.
Wow I remember this show when I was a kid when I was very little after when the show left the air it was hard too remember the show n the characters until the shoe return back on the air in reruns for like I'm guessing three year Johnny Gage is a funny guy he cracks me up laughin,i all remember him play on daytime soap operas as well .
I wish Netflix would do an Emergency! reboot. Kevin's daughter could be in it, of course Johnny and Roy would long be retired, but the show could be about their grandkids.
As a boy and a young man; my best friend and I did a lot of foolish things. Invariably as one of us was laying on the ground trying to catch his breath the other would say; "Should I call for Roy and Johnny?"
+alpha18412 We were kids too playing Emergency!. Sometimes we were Roy and Johnny and other times we were the victims being rescued. I remember moving the trampoline near the house when we pretended the house was on fire and we kids jumped off the roof onto the trampoline. NOT SMART....(but darn good memories now).
Both these comments made me smile. I'm a sucker for the re-airing everyday on MeTV. Here I was starting to think me n my neighborhood friends either got hurt for real n called for DeSoto and Gage. Other times we did stupid stunts (usually involving a long grassy hill in my yard meeting at a cul de sac n Main Street (new hood, lots of kids, adults always on lookout for kids -so cool, but not like that at all once us 'originals' grew up by mid 80's). Our TV antenna and my roof were great locations for fake rescues. Our house was in middle of everyone else n mom was head nurse n never home from we got home from school till near midnight. So we were the house to hang. Anyway, I've told a few ppl about playing it w/friends or 'joking' when truly hurt, but they look at me like you pretended to be rescued by Roy n John? Lol I was starting to feel a need for backup by asking sum those friends I've hooked up with on FB n say help me not be strange!! Back me up!! I'm female tho, so I had a crush on both. Only one other girl my age back then in my hood. Rest were boys, so we'd pretend whichever we had the biggest crush on at the time. What's funny is our pretend incidents sometimes became real, hardcore!! 😀 Kids today don't know what real playing entailed n what is actually illegal now. But we survived! Ha! Sorry wrote this but dang, reminiscing after a long day in the ER (ironically), but cuz I'm 46 n got way too many health probs after always being strong n healthy till last 8yrs. I'd give anything to go for a roll down that hill n land in the tar n gravel in the street at the bottom!! :)
ROY DESOTO JR.: Waaah! I wanna be a real firefighter like you, dad! JOHN RODERICK GAGE JR.: I wanna be a real firefighter like you too, pop! ROY DESOTO AND JOHN RODERICK GAGE JRS. AT THE UNISON: We wanna be real firefighters like both of you, daddies!
I think it's great That Randolph Mantooth does. All these events and fundraisers. I just wonder why? Kevin Tighe never seems to be apart of these fundraisers and events. I mean it seems they always jump to Randy without even thinking of Kevin.
I think that's more personal decision. Kevin still has parts in movies here n there, n some actors even if it did a good thing, just want to separate themselves from THAT one role that defines them no matter what.

Saving lives is a very noble occupation. Proud to say that I also trained as an EMT/Paramedic in 1977 because of this series.
I am and always will be a fan of Randy. He's a great actor and he has such a great devotion to the fire fighting and paramedic program. Randy may have aged, but he is still very handsome! I watch Emergency everyday, sometimes twice a day, because I record all episodes!
This year, in 2020, Randolph Mantooth will turn three quarters of a century old on Saturday September 19. 🎂
This man has aged absolutely and completely gracefully. He's as handsome as he ever was back in his hey day and still completely sexy as ever. I loved these shows back when I was a little girl and I always had a crush on Randolph. It's nice to know that he is still around and has supported fire fighters like he does!!!
+Fantazunique1962 You've aged quite nicely yourself!
Thank you. Its very kind of you to say so. You made my day!!!
Randolph Mantooth was a pioneer for the Paramedic profession as we know it today, the stories he shares are fantastic. I love the show Emergency and still will watch episodes here on UA-cam or the Television.
My ex looked like his twin. Both very good looking men. My type for sure.
Wow, that couldn't have been said any better than this, my thoughts exactly.
Truly a class act, so rare.

Randolph is 70 years old this year, so he was 68 here! He's aged VERY well.
I remember watching that show every single day, I was fumon' when they took that off because I have cerebral palsy so I wold never be able to pass the test. Randolph Mantooth is a very nice guy and very funny too so sweet person as well.
I used to believe he was a nice guy...that changed this week.
this is the reason I became a firefighter/paramedic.. I'm retired after 30 yrs..
Wow,
That's so incredible Randolph actually competed fire-fighter training for his role of Johnny Gage now that's dedication to his career!!
No, they monitored a paramedic course. Never firefighters.

That’s no joke. This show did more for emergency medicine then anything before or since.

Such an amazing actor and great tv show.
I loved this show from the start.
I use to watch this show with my dad....I also had a huge crush on Johnny Gage, he was my 1st crush as a little girl, I was about 7 or 8...He's still very handsome and well spoken 😍
Toy action figures were made of the man and sold with Han Solo and GI Joe. You don't get anymore bad-ass than that!
They can see him on the COZY Chanel. I watch him every day.
My God I had a crush on him when I was younger and I watch the old episodes of Emergency! and I still think he is cute!!! :)
Laura Degner me too.
I did too!
Same here!!
Wow! A Hollywood actor with class and not pumping out leftist drivel. How refreshing. I loved watching Emergency as a kid. It was an inspiration for me to become a firefighter.
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing.
Amen to that! Randolph Mantooth is a class act.
before Emergency paramedics were uncommon in the USA.After a few years the numbers skyrocketed
Good show my Grandfather drove Cadillac Ambulance and that’s how I remember the show and the station..
THANK YOU SO MUCH STILL WATCH RERUNS
This was shortly after the incident with the Arizona Hotshots.
I watched the show in reruns because I was actually born between the third and fourth season of Emergency.

That's AWESOME Suzy. Tell us how it went being the comments are a couple of years old.
I have them all except season 6..

dpm1982 and Mike Stoker was a real fireman who was hired to drive it because he was the only one that had a SAG card
@@lovemuffin1963 What is a SAG Card??
Watchin' it right now ! 👍💪👋👊💗

Randy Mantooth is so handsome for his age he's aged better than Kevin Tighe
I love how women half his age are fawning over him!
I loved in still love emergency

Loved this interview. Thanks so much for posting it
Lo que más me fascinó del bombero/paramédico John Gage en ¡Emergencia! fue su increíble sentido de humor.
Emergency 51 was a wonderful show in the 70es I was born in the 70 from brendon
Who would have thought that he'd be still talking about this 40 years later?
I wish Netflix would do an Emergency! reboot. Kevin's daughter could be in it, of course Johnny and Roy would long be retired, but the show could be about their grandkids.

Missy Myers Really enjoyed reading your post. It brought back a lot of memories. :)
FIREFIGHTERS are my Favorite professions!
From Australia thanks for showing this.
He seems like he's the most laid back actor there is.
Many thanks, I love this interview.
Cozi TV every day. Squad 51 for life.
My hero.
Randy Mantooth is as hot as ever , and I swear this is the last message from me
starlight76able Don't hold back! It's refreshing and honest, a good combination.
I swear I never saw that opening and I watched it then and watch it now
Like Randy said, the footage was from the pilot only. The music by Nelson Riddle was used in the first 4 seasons theme song
God bless the fire men and their families and their friends and family members
Most importantly Randolph mantooth
we on our way
Una cosa que el bombero/paramédico John Gage disgustaba tanto eran los crótalos o las serpientes de cascabel.
And the paramedics too oh the fire women
ROY DESOTO JR.: Waaah! I wanna be a real firefighter like you, dad!
JOHN RODERICK GAGE JR.: I wanna be a real firefighter like you too, pop!
ROY DESOTO AND JOHN RODERICK GAGE JRS. AT THE UNISON: We wanna be real firefighters like both of you, daddies!
The Seekers?? Never heard of it
I think it's great That Randolph Mantooth does. All these events and fundraisers. I just wonder why? Kevin Tighe never seems to be apart of these fundraisers and events. I mean it seems they always jump to Randy without even thinking of Kevin.
+Jeff Leach ~ At age 70 Randy's looks have faded. He should think about retiring from acting and just stick to fundraisers since it helps others.
I think that's more personal decision. Kevin still has parts in movies here n there, n some actors even if it did a good thing, just want to separate themselves from THAT one role that defines them no matter what.
Missy Myers Kevin looks worse than Randy!
SUGAR XYLER ! Hope you live in a cave at 70.
I think about my uncle Bill and my cousin jhon Schwall
They had to as to be realistic and for their safety as well.
Love you Jon and Roy
Emergency Jon and Roy
One of my heroes. :)

Beautiful!
That’s so true.
I feel so bad for these celebs! Poor things can,t even use the bathroom and pee in private! I like the part about the airport! :-)
THAT IS NOT ANY THEME SONG I KNOW!!!
That is the theme song from "Emergency!", which aired in the 1970's.
yes but now that i look at all the episodes i found out it was the pilot theme, but thank you :)
OK, thanks ... :)
Sad these actors don’t get residuals like many lesser actors from TV shows…
Like emergency Jon gage
❤
Too bad Johnny Gage didn't have love relationships with young nurse Sharon Walters! 💔
Who is this ditzy broad who called him Randolph Mans? He might forgive her if she needed mouth to mouth.
Emergency Jon and gage Roy desto
Emergency Jon gege
WOW, MAN HAS HE AGED!! (yeah I know this show was aired EONS ago) LOL
