I am glad someone enjoys this movie as much as I do. I wanted to find out whatever happened to the actress that was in the movie so I sent an email to whom I thought it would be. It was kind of fun trying to find her on the internet. She replied back!! She only ever did this one movie when she was just starting high school and said it was a memorable experience. She became a successful lawyer and still practices today.
So he sees the turtle , puts it on the grass on the other side of the road , and last scene is of the turtle , who had turned back around, headed out towards the road again. It seemed even the turtle had grown weary of the living and was just going back and forth across the road , hoping for a truck or car to bring it to it's final end , and never reaching it. How awful that would be !! Thank God for Heaven and living in our buff glorified bodies !
“For some... time passes so slowly... an hour... can seem like an eternity... for others... there's never ever enough time... but for someone like Jesse Tuck... time didn't exist.”
I remember seeing the 2002 version when I was little and I had such a crush on Jesse Tuck. But now I'm older than 17 and I watched it again recently and was thinking "I guess Miles is pretty hot"
Miles has been where it's at for me, even when I was younger. Yeah Jesse is cute, but a baby face isn't always attractive to me, especially one without even a little facial hair, as Jesse. I'm 30 now, so I'm still young.
Thank you for uploading it. This is one of my favorite movies ever. A better ending: she drinks the water at 17, right on the day Jesse comes back for her. They live happy ever after. :-)
The part where Jesse is working the merry-go-round, is one of my favorite moments ever in any film. When he speaks to the little girl, she for a moment somehow reminds him of when Winnie! Reminding him of his sadness.
@@limelightraver5690 Plausible interesting twist and point of view that had never occurred to me? To me, it's just another day for him and all of a sudden he's reminded of someone else years ago he cared about.Thanks. Just yesterday I was watching a video on how to play Rush's song Limelight. Lol
Thanks for posting these Tuck Everlasting videos. My sister will be so happy to see this again. Shes been looking for it on VHS or DVD for nearly 20 years with no luck. She hoped it would have been included with the remake DVD version. Thanks again! This is quite a classic for us from our very early childhood years.
OMG...soooooooooo happy to see this, I'm going to watch it again and again. Brings back memories, such a good flick, the best of the two versions, it's so real, so down to earth. THANK YOU so much for making this possible!!!! I wonder why they waited so long to come back for Winnie? I'm sure the town would have burned her at the stake long before for not aging. I figured they'd be back for her in a few years. Would you have drank the water?????
That was absolutely marvelous to watch again after so many years. Thank you immensely for posting this. As 'updated' as the new movie might be, I refuse to watch it on principle. THIS is Tuck Everlasting ...
I would have drank the water because then Jesse wouldn't have been lonely and I think Winnie would have been happy w him - really sad she didn't and glad I watched the movie instead of reading the book all over again. My teacher read this to my class in 6th grade once and I only just remembered a few things and forgot about hating the ending. loved the movie overall but I had no idea it was so old I mean the 1981 film that means the book 's even older, just a few years older than my big brother.
Spellbinder what is it? the people you love live their lives and die while you, an immortal, cannot go with them? I get that but I still disagree, being immortal wouldn't be that bad especially if you had someone to spend all that time with and even more so when you know they understand how you feel.
shygirl2927 you only get one life, so everything you do must mean something special to you, but if you live forever than eventually you'll grow world weary and haggard about life, spending your days longing for the sweet kiss of death to take you away and end the horrible existence you call immortality only for nothing to happen.
Spellbinder yeah I still disagree. i'd be immortal so tuck wouldn't have to be alone. and I don't believe I missed that at all. i'd say that's a more specific way of saying what I said but it's still the same. I would still drink the water.
Just watched both this and the 2002 version. This was way better. Amish Miles is pretty dang nice to look at. B-) The last time I saw this was back when I was a kindergartener in the 1990s and I just remembered the dad burning his hand.
There is something magical about this version I think. It seems as one poster put it, real and down to the earth. I don't want to watch a stupid Disney version where everyone looks perfect.....
I can't believe I remember this movie. I was helping my sons study the story from the book and I remembered this from '81. Could it be the same story I vaguely remember? IT IS!! I am so thankful for the poster to put this on the tube. Being originally from Medina, NY. I remember the shot coming up from the canal basin and the glimpse of Medina Parts. It was pretty exciting waiting for this 4 - 5 second shot. I'll have to watch the entire film soon. Thanks again.
I know this is an old comment but I was hoping to ask if you know where the diner is? I found the Medina parts scene on Google street view but have no idea where the diner is. I know it's an odd question but I'm just curious.
this movie warmed my heart to the bone it makes me want to find that majicle spring tho its only a tale but still ohhh how i wish i lived back in the olden days things these days are just so cruddy and cheap i hate it back in the old days wen people trvled by horse things were so mutch more beautiful and filled with mutch more exitment and people were so manerly its not all about the matierialistic things like today
I would have drank the water because I am afraid of death to be honest. I have NO idea why they waited so long to come back. Maybe because of the sheriff thing and then they had to go on the run from the law.
I never saw this one I saw the remake is this one any good? I saw the other one after my teacher in fourth grade read it to us. Then I rented it and my mom watched it with me.
You probably think that, because the book says different stuff.. This is the original movie, but the book says Mae is the one that shoots the man in the yellow suit, and winnie should be talking to a toad... and some other details

What about the guy who played Jesse?
Wow that is a great story! We watched this movie in like 4th grade, like 22 years after this movie came out
To me its so heartbreaking

Honestly the 2002 version of this movie made me cry more then 1981 :/

I got the implication that she was Winnie’s descendent and he was beginning to suspect it and realize it.

if you would have drank the water then you don't really understand what the message of this story is.

I thought she poured the water on a toad...
Me too
David Hopkins me too
i like turtles
The movie you watched was a remake, in which Winnie was MUCH too old. She's ten in the book, and twelve in the 1981 movie.
Saddst tragic ending ever
she died in 1948
it is frog tho in the book XD LOL
You probably think that, because the book says different stuff.. This is the original movie, but the book says Mae is the one that shoots the man in the yellow suit, and winnie should be talking to a toad... and some other details
Actually Mae just hits the man in the yellow suit with the side of a shotgun on the head. The man still dies later.

The 2002 Disney movie was awful, and Winnie was much too old. Better read the book.
