I'm in an emotional wreck right now. Being far away from home makes it so much harder to actually be able to see my parents. This short is literally my worst fears manifested.
Life is not all about going from point A to point B. Sometimes, we need to stand still and admire the view. This is the sad truth of life, we live as if all our love ones are immortal. We treasure them when they becomes our memory.

A really beautiful film. From each gorgeous cinematic shot to how the actors really brought out the emotions. I love how subtly the theme was being built with a very simplistic kind of mystery wrapped up in the foreboding. The video recording of the teacher at the end really brought together the touching story. Makes me want to be there and enjoy the places Ling is showing around.

this is why i disliked the video and the female character seems a little slutty or gentle way - throwing over herself too much which in real life don’t really happen all the time, unless drunk in a night club?
Jacky Phantom its the character’s personality , i didnt mention anything about the slang or accent. anyways its just my 2cents abt this short film and storyboard.
I’m kind of agreed with the logic of some scenes and storyline are a bit off compared in reality. Yet if the female lead is not that enthu, no way this short film was able to be produced. And it’s quite uncommon for the character being able to comprehend what the banana telling her in whole lots of conversations, yet it’s a fake story, so I assume she’s very talented in English language, somewhat gifted😂😂Same applied to the fake banana
- She's so enthusiastic because she already knows him from the mother. She is eager to bring him to all the places the mother wanted him to see. - There are many Malaysians who understand a certain language but can't speak it well. If you notice their conversations, they don't fully understand the whole thing of what the other person says but tend to pick up key words which they understand.
I finally found time to complete watching this. Thanks, it is meaningful to me. Born in Singapore but from a Malaysian mother, I have visited her hometown and been to where she lived and grew up. At least I have no regrets... But it is serves as a good reminder to me and those of us whose mothers are not born in the same place as us.
Every short film he makes is a master piece and his short films like this one always have me in tears in a good way. I'd love to see what he would do with a full film.
ykw i watched this like 3 years ago and i still revisit this channel from time to time and watch these shortfilms again and again .These are actually so good . simple stories with a lot of emotions
This film got me choked up bad, but in a truly moving sensation. I feel this is a particularly common tragedy for most of us asians, although im sure anyone else who had their families immigrate into a different country can relate. I finally got to visit my home country and met my Mother’s family for the first time, and although we never got to go to her hometown I could sense this sensation being portrayed in the film. It’s sad knowing how far they’ve managed to push, and in our own rightful struggles to fight for our own spot, we often forget to appreciate them too especially when they were doing the same thing all while raising me and my siblings from 2 separate countries until we all finally settled in the USA. I was the first born in the US and I feel such a strong disconnect with my family, but this film connects with me in a way of my journey trying to navigate my way. Not necessarily back to the Philippines, but to appreciate the family I have rather than ignoring them simply because there’s another opportunity to be somewhere else. To become my own while trying to love my family is a conflict. In short, i highly admire this short film and the actors & actresses in it. I read the signs so early on, and it just hit me even harder when it finally dropped. Absolutely phenomenal ✨ (Edit) rewatching it, the tragedy of his Mother trying to teach her son the lesson of appreciating the world him to the point of waiting beyond death, hits twice as hard. When you notice how Alan’s attitude is towards his Mother and at how he doesn’t try to even call her back. How he impatiently interacts with a local for slippers (idk the currency but he seems to not care about the change) and only shows interest when she shows to be useful to him in giving directions. He doesn’t attempt to speak or learn a bit of the language, or even interact with the culture and the people he’s effectively coming home to for his Mother’s resting place. His character development is truly caught when Ling gives Alan his Mother’s quote about not blindly chasing point to point. It’s sad how if he just happened to not meet Ling, he may have not truly learned to appreciate his Mother, her homeland, or the world as a whole and might have just flown back to KL grieving and incomplete & his mother may have been waiting beyond the grave for who knows how much longer for her son to “come home”. I’m TOTALLY not obsessed with this film…
This hits me for home. I left Malaysia 18 years ago when I was 12 years old for America and haven't been home since. Haven't seen my family since. Definitely miss it. Unique short story, definitely love it!
Nowadays tears is so hard. After got maturity, we can't normally got into it. But the emotion in this Drama make me cry. I lost my mom in 2015. This drama give me the vibe again how beautiful the mother love could be. Thanks for give me tears in my eyes. Thanks whole team. We have different language, different culture, different region but same emotions. Keep up the good work. 🇧🇩
I'm so glad I came across this beautiful short film though a year later! The story was so wonderfully woven with the scenic beauty of the place and the actors were just amazing! Loved the film😇
I was in Kota Damansara for 3 years, I spoke perfect Malaysian English then, even locals couldn't recognize I wasn't Malaysian. The day I left Malaysia, the accent left me, but every time I heard somebody spoke Malaysian English, my accent came back immediately. How weird.
This is so so heartwarming. It just makes me believe that no matter how busy we are we must spend little moments of joy with our parents. We do get very little time in our lives to spend with them. Keep making more beautiful short films. Great one !!🥺🩵🩵

- There are many Malaysians who understand a certain language but can't speak it well. If you notice their conversations, they don't fully understand the whole thing of what the other person says but tend to pick up key words which they understand.
Anyone notice that she took him to all the places his mom wanted to take him...this film is so sad but so heartwarming 😭🤚🤚
You did it! It reminds me of my grandma and my father. Thank you for made a beautiful, touching short-film..
Watching this again for the 3rd time. How can this not be an award winning short film. It's so touching and memorable!
I finally found time to complete watching this. Thanks, it is meaningful to me. Born in Singapore but from a Malaysian mother, I have visited her hometown and been to where she lived and grew up. At least I have no regrets... But it is serves as a good reminder to me and those of us whose mothers are not born in the same place as us.
jinnyboy short film just can’t go wrong. Quality on point 💯
This short is incredibly moving. Well done, guys!
moving pa nga 😂😂
This short film is so well shot. So many instances where I thought to myself, "wow this looks like Hollywood level production value'
Got me eyes watering all day. Thank you for reminding me on how much I miss and love my father ❤️
Every short film he makes is a master piece and his short films like this one always have me in tears in a good way. I'd love to see what he would do with a full film.
omg i literally cried in the ending this film is so amazing
We need more short films like this. Excellent production, and keep it up.
ykw i watched this like 3 years ago and i still revisit this channel from time to time and watch these shortfilms again and again .These are actually so good . simple stories with a lot of emotions
Absolutely phenomenal ✨
(Edit) rewatching it, the tragedy of his Mother trying to teach her son the lesson of appreciating the world him to the point of waiting beyond death, hits twice as hard.
One of the most beautiful ending I've ever watched (and also the story itself of course!). I'm satisfied and cried. Thank you for this! 🥰
All the sceneries of this short flim was so amazing and the last scene was the best.
I absolutely love the scenes, transition, timelapse, storytelling etc. Love from India🇮🇳
This was really beautiful! Thank you for making this
Everything is beautiful in this film....story,acting, emotion.....👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻bravo for the writer .... well done 👍
I BURSTED INTO TEARS. It's a 10/10 for me, keep up the good work. I want a fujifilm camera now!!! 👏🏻💯
This hits me for home. I left Malaysia 18 years ago when I was 12 years old for America and haven't been home since. Haven't seen my family since. Definitely miss it. Unique short story, definitely love it!
i just really cried so hard at the end................loved it. so natural acting....
OH! Really?
Same... Too emotional
I love the picture, this is well-made. So cute, I can see the romance blossom between them.
I'm in love with the song....so calming, soothing, pure, shrine, melodious ❤
Joey sounds like the typical malaysian teen girls with that accent for both chinese and english 😂 I'm singaporean.
This story is a bit of a representation of me not being there when my mom needed me in her last moments. thank you.
