I just wanted to thank you for your channel and videos. I'm dreaming of someday having land for a cob house. I'm so grateful I have these resources available to me, even if it will be years before I can make that dream a reality.
We sealed the gaps between our wooden window frames and stone walls with sheep wool coated with clay slip. It dried surprisingly solid but is very moist and flexible when first packing it in.
Sometimes the soil is dug from where you dig the foundation footers or foundation ground leveling. If you just dig a hole somewhere for soil, you'll just be left with a hole though.

Same here❤ even though I'm a woman.. not sure I could do it alone .. but, I would try and I love knowing about it.
I hope you know how much I appreciate these videos and learning from you. You’ve given me hope that I can own a home someday. I’m working towards it

This was great - thank you! For the weathering tape on the outside do you put cob directly over it?
I'll actually be putting wood window trim over the tape in this case. Or, you could put metal plaster lathe over it and plaster over it all instead.
After u dig the soil out to build the cob house what do u do about the hole that’s left over in the area that u dug out from
