Thanks, Nirmala! Yeah, I've been pleasantly surprised with this plant and how early it's started to flower. I hope I eventually get to try the fruit 🤞

That's looking great for such a small plant Peter, amazing to see flowers on it already , it would be nice if one sets so you can see how far it develops

Thanks, Brett! Yeah, I was amazed that it decided to flower already and while outside too. I don't think the pollen had actually released when I filmed this yesterday, but today it looked like some pollen was coming off when I brushed the anthers. Yeah, it would be interesting to see how far a fruit gets, if it does set. Of course, on such a tiny plant I doubt it would be able to develop in time before the cold weather comes in, but it will definitely be interesting to document.

You've done a good job with that plant Peter. The foilage looks super healthy! It loves that spot. I'm growing mine on a trellis because they are more brittle in the wind than the strawberry guava

Cheers, Paul! Yeah, it does seem to enjoy its full sun south-facing location 👍. Interesting to know about them being more brittle, I'll definitely have to keep that in mind as we do often get strong winds here, especially over autumn and winter.

My ruby supreme guava is not bigger than your lemon. It is a grower though. It has 4-5 fruits on it currently. I plan on only leaving 2-3 so I can atleast have a taste. I have no access to these fruits and will have to bring it inside through the winter. What we do for our plants!
Im assuming it would be possible to graft guavas? That would be more practical for me since I'm limited on indoor space.

Nice! Your Ruby Supreme guava sounds like it's doing incredibly well. It's a different species to this one. This species is a bit more cold-tolerant, but it will probably still need some protection in most winters here unless we get a really mild one. Your fruits might continue to ripen on the plant when you bring them inside over winter.
From what I've read guavas are quite difficult to graft successfully, but I've never tried it.
