  • HOW TO TRAVEL NORTHERN ARGENTINA: Quebrada Flechas, Cafayate & Ruta 68
In this video we wake up in the tiny desert town of Angastaco, where we unexpectedly stayed the night before, you can see what happened here if you missed the previous video: • HOW TO DRIVE RUTA 40 A... we were so glad we stopped when we did because the scenery that we woke up to was not something to miss by driving by in the dark.
After spending a few hours admiring the incredible scenery we completed the drive to Cafayate where we had some lunch and wine in a beautiful bodega called Piatelli which not only had great wine but also amazing food, service and views to die for! We explored the town of Cafayate before making the famous drive along Ruta 68 where we stopped off at all the incredible places along the way and explored them all. This route really is a must drive. We have driven some incredible roads in Argentina but this one really wowed us with it’s dramatic scenery and the places to see along the way between Cafayate and Salta.
    Next time!
Join us next time for part 3 of Northern Argentina as we explore the Jujuy region starting with a 4 hour drive North of Salta, to another desert town before making the steep ascent from Humahuaca to another high altitude spectacular feat of nature the Hornacal 14 coloured mountain.

Loving your videos. They are so well done. I had heading to Argentina in 10 days visiting Buenos Aires, Mar de Plata, Iguazu Falls, El Calafate, El Chalten and then down to Ushuaia for a few days before catching a 20-day cruise to Antarctica. I've really enjoyed the videos of where I am going soon but these past videos are making me think I need to come back and visit the northern part of Argentina. Muy Gracias.

The diverse landscapes of Argentina is incredible! That drone shot in the beginning is out of this world 😍
It honestly looks like you’re driving on another planet between all those rock formations! Lol, yes, as I typed this, Craig said it looks like Mars 😅
Wooow! The amphitheater 🤩 definitely Petra vibes.

And Day TWO! Wow, look at those views, you can should post those drone shots on IG Reels and UA-cam Shorts! It does look like a fantasy land, agreed! The lunch spot is SO NICE, wow! The dining experience is so worth to wait for 20 min, great location and thanks for the recommendation! The natural amphitheater feels of the rock formations are insane, it does have the vibes of Petra, Jordan - agreed! Great video!

hello guys, how are you, let me tell you that in cafayate, they have their own wine from argentina, it's called torrontes, it's a white wine with fruity notes and very rich, this grape from Salta grows down to the province of la rioja, try that delicious wine, I send you a big hello

Such a beautiful area - the landscape is wild. I agree with Kirsty, totally looks like a fantasy land! That lunch looked quite tasty, and the wine would be such a treat. The main squares of the little towns looked cute. Loved that rock frog! I'm loving these videos and getting to see around Argentina.

Wow you two, just watching the intro I was like ...yes, Yes, YES! I want to visit all of these places 🙌
Even though you have to take your time to get there, visiting the canyon does look worth it. The landscape is so unique.
I was glad to see your visit to the winery went so well. We have also been traveling and felt we were under dressed for some of the places we have visited before. It was so nice to hear they were welcoming...and even better that the prices were so reasonable.
This episode just makes us want to visit even more 😁

Hi guys, love the videos. Did ye find it safe driving? Feel apprehensive renting a car in case of breakdown, car jacking etc.

    • @TideKnotTravellers
      @TideKnotTravellers  4 місяці тому

We felt totally safe but we did insist on a half decent car because breaking down in the middle of desert rubble doesn’t sound fun 😅
There was never any fear of carjacking, the people in this area are more likely to pull over and help you, we actually had that happen when were stopped somewhere filming, someone thought we had a problem and checked on us. It was very reassuring. Enjoy your trip, it’s an incredible place and don’t let media stories scare you.

YES ! Bariloche is very appealing to us.

We didn’t witness anything like that, Argentina as a whole is very multicultural and friendly so I’d be surprised if it was a problem but you’re right in factoring in the history of this particular area. Depends on where in the country you are. The provinces of La Pampa, Santiago del Estero, Formosa, Santa Fe, Entre Rios and the interior of Buenos Aires Province are quite dull for the most part, But even in those there are many interesting places and hidden gems. The rest of the 23 provinces are full of amazing landscapes, many of which were not shown in these blogs for obvious reasons.
