Thanks so much for watching you lovely people!😊 Would you hike on a glacier? If you liked the video, please give it a thumbs up👍🏼 it’s the easiest way for you to help our channel and means the world to us, see you on the next one!
Thank you so much and welcome to our adventures. Perito Moreno is an incredible place! It's impossible to take your eyes off of the glacier when you're there, we went twice during our stay and still couldn't believe it. Hope you get a trip booked there soon, it's worth the effort!
That is awesome to hear, we're so glad our videos helped you to plan your trip. Enjoy every second you have a lot of fun ahead by the sounds of it! Thank you for the lovely comment, let us know if you have any questions along the way!
Ahh the shades of blue in the glacier are incredible to see 💙 🥰 thank you for explaining why the shades vary...and why the glacier is blue, I really didn't know why. I would also be nervous trekking on the glacier...when you can hear parts of it crashing down 😳😬 Yeaaa for celebrating with whiskey and chocolate 🙌 what an unforgettable adventure!
We had no idea why it was blue until we went to the glacierium, it’s something I’d never thought about until I saw them in real life then read it. Glad I’m not the only one that would be nervous, the whiskey went down so well!🥃😄
Wow this is incredible and I’ve never heard it before! Thanks for sharing this beautiful spot with us. We are definitely putting this one on our list! Amazing!
Argentina is full of incredible places that definitely aren’t marketed to the wider world, other than travel groups, vlogs and blogs we wouldn’t know about half the places we’ve found. Definitely put it on your list, it’s breathtaking! ❄️🧊
That glacier is incredible! I didn't realize how big the national park is there and now I want to visit for sure. It does sound slightly expensive, but what an experience! I think we'd only do the 3 hour trek if my hubby would even be able to do that - but I think he'd want to try for sure. Craig was killing it with the quotes in this episode 😂 The blue colours are stunning. Loved the outtakes!
It is definitely an experience to remember! The hike isn't too strenuous it's more that it's fairly slow with the footing on the ice. Craig and his jokes! 😂
This is the most beautiful glacier! Don’t think I’ve ever seen it before. Love the epic music you chose to show the glacier in the beginning. The cracking sounds are quite scary though 😅 I’d definitely keep my distance on those viewing decks 😅 Hiking the glacier looks like an ultimate bucket list experience!!
Absolutely amazing. How I would also love to see the melting arch it was incredible. The blue ice was something else beautiful. The national park is huge I did not realise
Hello everybody! There's an excurtion the guys didn't do, and I think it's the best one to know the park, and in the same awesome and unforgetable scale of the treaking, and it's the navigation trough Lago Argentino. You get to see so many other glaciers, big and small, like Upsala, the biggest in Argentina, and Spegazzini, the tallest, and it reaches Perito Moreno too, so you can see the north face from the boat too. I did the treaking and the navigation in 2009, they are not cheap, but I would regret so much going there and not doing both, I was lucky I could afford it. So guys, you need to come back now!!!☺
We almost booked the navigation too but yes the trips are so expensive in El Calafate 😅 we need to come back as the border to Torres Del Paine was shut so we can do the navigation one day when we return to this part of the world 🌎
@@TideKnotTravellers Yes, it is expensive, even more for us argentines, because it seems they kept the prices on an international level… It was expensive in 2009, it is even more for us now, sadly. I hope you can return! Good luck.
That is awesome, we’re so glad our videos help you to plan. We recommend everything (except the 27 hour bus of course 😅) that we have done so far, there is not one part of the trip that we would want to go back and change. Hope you have an incredible time!
@@TideKnotTravellers Maybe I'll skip the bus. I am definitely inspired to visit Buenos Aires, Ushuai, El Calafate and the Iguazu Falls sides. Have to plan out the days that I'll need. Will surely check out your videos on-and--off for any parts unclear. Thank you for the fun thoughts so far! :D
Were you able to book excursions at the blue rate before reaching or were you able to do so only upon arrival with the tour? Is there like a pay when arrived option? I’m worried about availability of the excursions. Any advice would be great.
@@TideKnotTravellers sabían que los barcos japoneses atrapa-iceberg en la Antártida , son llevados a Japón y envasados y cuestan 1.000 dólares el litro?
The fall of the ice that is seen is not due to climate change, on the contrary it is due to a natural process that gives rise to a wonderful spectacle and occurs approximately every four years. The glacier in its growth reaches the peninsula of land forming as a dike Not being able to circulate, the water raises its level and begins to press against the wall of the glacier. Leaks begin to appear that erode this natural dam until that ice bridge that can be seen in the image is formed. Finally it collapses and the cycle starts again

We're coming to El Calafate in November. What company was the trek on Perito Moreno book with? Is it worth booking it on the spot as opposed to online to get the cheaper price?
You will get it much cheaper by paying in cash because you can use the unofficial rate (see the prices we put at the bottom of the screen, huge difference!) but I would recommend booking with Hielo y Aventura the first day you arrive in El Calafate, they are right on the main high street with all the restaurants and tour places but they are the only company that operate the glacier trekking. The best advice I can give you is arrive in El Calafate with a lot of pesos on you already as there are only two WU’s to get cash and they have a small limit 60-80,000 pesos and often run out altogether.
@@masaksenja thank you, you’re welcome. We have a few videos coming up that will be helpful for your trip, stuff we wished we’d known before visiting 😅 Argentina is beautiful, you’ll have an amazing time!
We walked into the office and booked it for four days later. There is only one company that you can do the ice trek with: Hielo y Aventura. Yes there is a waiver to sign. You can visit the park and glacier anytime without a prior booking like we did on the first day in this video.
With the mini trek that we did here you’ll be walking on the glacier for about an hour it’s not strenuous. As long as you can walk an hour normally you should be fine, enjoy, it’s still one of our biggest South American highlights!
The thought definitely crossed my mind several times too 😊 it's one of those things though when you're there you can clearly see what is safe and stick to the guided route.
