From someone who bought this rod for its self, it’s not too shabby its fairly priced the lures are good and not cheaply made, it doesn’t line twist a lot, it can handle all the fish you need it for, it’s a all round normal rod with the added bonus of it being extremely portable. Hope this non-paid for review helps you If you were interested.
@@flamexflameplay8729 don’t put too much stress on the rod because it might break, this happened when I was on a snag and it snapped the rod should really be used for smaller fish
Why are you talking crap about Zebco's? They're excellent reels - for $40, you get a quality reel with high action, bite sensor, and great drag control, already spooled with 8lb spider line fluorocarbon. I've caught all of my PBs on Zebco's: including monster steelheads, large and smallmouths, and a 4' channel cat.
@1205Lucy You're probably running it WAY too loose and wearing it out. I've horsed in steelheads, pike, walleye, catfish, etc. and in 33 years of fishing I've only busted the gears in my drag once or twice; I usually retire a reel once my line gets too short or the bail gets sticky - maybe once a year.
Up here in Gladstone Lake Michigan area, last summer I caught buckets of perch and a few rock bass and pike on the 10 dolla zebco…. Used those pre knotted hooks with a worm. Sometimes simplicity is key
Even if it is a little gimmicky, keeping one one hand while hunting or camping, like when you're not legitimately going fishing, would be a great little thing to pack around. I have broke a couple good rods that I've had on hand when I've gone hunting...something pinching/falling/hitting it in the bed, catching it in tailgate ect ect. Something compact and out of the way is nifty
Just buy a 6ft 2 piece stalker rod with a 3lb test curve. Put 30lb braid on it it'll pull any fish In. This shite hook In to something big and it's bye bye
If you have a zebco screeching sound you might want to grease and oil it. Or you could tighten the drag all the way and backreel your fish in, using the rod to pressure the fish instead of the reel. I guarantee that you never had so much fun in your life. And before you dismiss that idea, ask yourself, why is there an option?
I only have a zebco spinning rod but the drag is silent and its held up on about 7 fishing trips. I have only caught stocked rainbows on it but i have been trying for lmb and small catfish
Is there anyway you could get just the rod and not the backpack combo? I was looking into this but couldn’t find anything with just the foldable rod and no stuff
As a BC resident I love Amundsen they make some of the highest quality mooching reels and I would trust them enough to produce other high quality products
There one like that called rig and ready it's got 3 type on one rod fly fishing spinning and baitcaster you can get reel with it aswell. Rig and ready 2000reel or you can use your own baitcaster reel .2000reel comes with it..
The bass masters was won with a Zebco 808 even there not junk go figure . I've got big catfish and tiger musky with Zebco 888 Boss Hawg rod. But I like the cheeper stuff to use and see if is good enough for fishing 🎣 nice look rod 🧐 and looks good. Nice review
Hope you can make an update video soon-ish, ive been looking for a good pack down rod to put in my car so I can easily stop and hit some lakes if I'm feeling in the mood to fish.
This may be perfect for me. Because of your videos I've been able to pick up fishing this year for the first time ever. Its so hard when I have no space driving my 92 miata lol but the folding kayak fits and if this is a good rod this will cut down on even more space and I won't have to keep a window open or have the top down to fit my pole lol.
While cool, I recently been more cautious with rods that's more than two sections. My first GX2 was three sections and broke it at the joint of the third section.
The sensitivity on those kinds of rods (including telescoping rods) are pretty much crap due to the amount of joints. That kind of thing would be great when traveling on a plane tho.
I’ve recently started watching your videos and I’ve learned a lot and have caught a lot more fish and ever since I seen this fishing combo I’ve wanted one. That is until just seen the price. Since I’m 14 it would take me quiet a while to save up and have one of these amazing looking rods and I know this might sound a bit rude but I’d love if you would send me a combo so I could enjoy and catch more fish when I’m out places where I can’t bring a traditional rod and reel.
how much did you pay for that I got the zebco z spin for $10 at Walmart back in like 2017 maybe 2018 but it's a one piece telescopic it didn't have a rod on it so I put an old Shakespeare interpid on it I had
people always hate on zebco but mine runs just fine and ive dipped the whole reel in the water plenty of times. its fishing quit being so materialistic.

Is it good for saltwater and do a durability test pls
@@siclopsanimations3882 I think the main purpose of this product is portability. Especially for those people that like hiking and then fishing.

I love zebcos. Fishing culture is so judgemental and pretentious in some places. Just have fun and catch fish.
Right, the fish cant tell the difference between a 1000$ reel and a 100$ one

The tent pole style of the rod snapping together is not only satisfying but is what makes its setup so easily and reliable
