Same issue on one side. Now I'm worried that the protective tape is going to rip with the wind movement and scratch my paint! It said no drilling on my 2022 Colorado and it was a lie. I had to drill. I'm hoping it really helps keep small debris from chipping my hood paint.
If you turn the bunpers counter clockwise that moves them up, don't you want to move them down so that it makes room for the space the shield takes up ?

No, you want the bumpers to move up so that it stops the hood sooner.
