    Interesting side note: To those of you that are attempting to put an aftermarket stereo in, and are hoping to buy a factory stereo wiring harness adapter to avoid cutting and splicing wires, they used the same plug and pin-outs on the GMC/Chevy `88 to `94 (think 94 was the last year) pickups. (The ones with the actual stereo under the dash just above the gas pedal.) So if for some reason you can't find one listed for this Saturn, grab one for an `88 Silverado and it'll work.

    Thanks Richpin, another great video.
    I have a couple of questions, which I must break into a few coments.
    My daughter got a a new stereo and sub for Christmas from her very generous big brother. We installed it in her 97 Saturn SL2. As usual I started with your site before starting any work. The install went great and the stereo sounds really good, the only problem is, the car will no longer start. It started to kick in for a second or two, twice then died.

    @MrRaiders6769 A new radio might fix the problem because i suspect the problem is in the old one.Second problem have you ever replace the engine coolant temp sensor and the connector and cleaned the throttle body and the IAC valve.

  • @CanadianBackBacon
    @CanadianBackBacon 14 років тому

    I been able to troubleshoot it yet so I thought I should check with you to rule out a couple of possibilities first.
    1. Does the factory Saturn radio (the one with the built in equalizer) tie into the security system, i.e. an engine immobilizer which could shut down the fuel system?
    2. Does a Saturn suffer from a problem some cars from the 90s had in which they would loose their programming if the battery was disconnected for any length of time and require reprogramming at the dealership?

  • @RichpinTv
    @RichpinTv  13 років тому

    @MrRaiders6769 If you want to show your appreciation find my videos with the google adds off to the side and click on them they give me a few cents and it all adds up.Your radio problem sounds like a possible problem with the non switched power wire to the radio or something in the radio and if that is the case i would be looking at a new radio.
