Thanks for your tutorial. I have jacket with just one slider- and I am considering converting it to a two slider zipper like the one you have here. Can I simply stack a fix n zip below my existing slider to convert the zipper?

I have a jacket (parka) with just one way zipper but I would like to turn it into a double way zipper to be more comfortable when I seat. I would like to open the bottom a little bit instead to open the entire jacket and close it every time I step up! Is that be possible with this zip? Let me tell you my jacket has a big plastic squared stop at the bottom that comes from stock so idk!

That's not my issue. The top zipper goes up & down, but the bottom zipper (how pointless!) is down at the very bottom, and stuck. So I can zip the working zipper all the way down but it stops when it hits the stuck zipper, and I have to climb out of my coat. (Curse you, Eddie Bauer!!)
This does not work as depicted. Most zippers have a locking mechanism where you cannot string one through the zipper into another one. I have tried several different variations. One zipper works fine, but it doesn't work as depicted with two.
Has anyone actually gotten this combination to work with a fixnzip? If so, chime in.

I bought a very nice Eddie Bauer down coat for half off at their Warehouse store in Columbus, Ohio. It never occurred to me the plastic zipper would not zip.. They have a no return policy.

No sorry. I had to take it to a seamstress and had her sew in two 5” zippers at the hips. Works great now, but cost me $50
It seems like a lot but I didn’t need to spend another $3-400 for a while new jacket

Same problem here. It looks like the lower slider is one or two teeth out of alignment and will not line up equally with the stoppers at the bottom. .
What about a pair of coveralls the top zipper wont zip and theres no way of starting one on
When you replaced both sliders, you demo-ed the top slider only. I assume the bottom slider can zip up and unzip the jacket as well? Thus providing more hip room at the jacket bottom. Can you confirm this? This is what I really want to do to my jacket, add an extra slider at the bottom to my already working zipper.

Yes, as long as the jacket was originally a double zipper, you can replace the bottom one and zip/unzip the bottom one.

What if the bottom zipper drops away from the zipper?
For the fixing the just one top zipper, you didn't show how you got the original zipper off. I got a used jacket that is a double zipper but I cannot even get the other side into the top zipper at all. I love the jacket and don't care if it's a double zipper or not. I just want to be able to close it. So how would I get off the top one to make room for the fixnzip?
Hi Wendy,
I would slide the old one to the top of the zipper track first, then install the fixnzip to test it out. If it works well, then remove the old one. If you check out our other videos, we have one for removing the old slider.

So, where did the old slider go?
You can either slide it out of the way to test ours out, or you can remove (we have a video on that)
That zipper replacement looks hideous
I don’t think it’s meant to stay on the zipper and replace the zipper, is it? It’s just to fix the zipper and then you take it off.

Guys i have a jacket
Has 2 zips one on outside and othe on the inside
Outer one closes fine
But i dont get the one on the inside
It has zips on bothsides and bothsides has the thing inwhich the other part goes inside and zip closes
And inside one and outside one zips are different so i cant xip inside one with outside one
I dont know why its there (the jnside one)

I think the most common reason is for when people sit, or bend down etc. Sometimes the bottom of a jacket can make that difficult when zipper up.
