E38 740il M62 Alternator regulator

E38 740il M62 Alternator issues? Voltage regulator changeover.
If you have low voltage while engine is running, and or battery is going flat.
Maybe your regulator needs to be swapped, prior to buying a whole new Alternator which is very expensive.
Check for 13+volts on your battery terminals (while engine is running). If its any lower, maybe the regulator is worn out, not necesarily needing new alternator.
They are only $50 or so.

I changed mine, and very little difference before and after. I think it was 13.6 before, and 13.8 after, or something like that.
I changed my regulator because the alternator was very accessible at the time with engine out. It might give a new lease of life to an Alternator which while working well, had seen 300k, 24years of service already. The brushes were very worn so I'm pleased to have done this once a quarter century service so cheap.
