  • In this video, I will test The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind on Raspberry pi 5 with box86/box64 and wine using OpenMW 0.45.0 Windows version. This is the only OpenMW version working on Rpi5 during my testing. I also tried the Linux versions but I encountered lib errors.
Due to a music copyright issue, some audio was replaced.

Thank you for taking your time and making a video about Morrowind. I thought it would be possible to launch a version of openmw for ARM.

it depends on libqtgui4, which is replaced by libqtgui5 on deb 11 and 12, which is the minimum version for the pi to boot on pi OS

On Ubuntu-based distros it's absolutely possible -- if you're running Debian/Ubuntu, OpenMW should be available for arm64 straight from the apt repos -- I think there's also a PPA for OpenMW with more current builds. I compiled OpenMW directly from source on RPi4B and it ran very well. No box86/box64 or other compatibility/translation layers were required. You'd probably get way better performance on RPi5 that way too.

another great piece. thx! did you noticed too, there is no overscan option in 32bit raspberry os raspi-config? in x64 i can choose it.

Hi, I think newer version of raspberry pi os don't have overscan option. However, you may disable it from config.txt. I have not tried on 32bit since I am using 64bit on this video.
