I like the way you paint, completely finish one section and then move on to the next colour. It shows progress and keeps you motivated. Excellent video. Subbed.
Wonderful tutorial. I personally like GW paint very much. I’ve been painting for some time & over the years I always go back to citadel paint. Great work
"Just be very careful" should be the title or this vid 🤣 you have incredible brush control! I would definitely struggle painting like this and spill over everywhere, usually paint trim first for this reason haha I might try your method for Kharn though as the result is incredible! I need about 20 quids worth more of paints though despite having about 80 of them! 🤦♂️😂
cool tutorial there just to say a brown shadow is a bit more complimentary than black ,black tends suck everything out of a model brown looks very good with reds and its worth trying mate im not telling you how to paint lol a dark blue blended with red also works well uf i found it gives you that intense cold shadow look
Love the video and the paint job on kharn could you do a video on nurgle marines as I really would like to see how you would paint them keep up the good work
First off, great paintjob, I can't replicate it to that level but just one thing: The whole part where you finish everything on one section is something that would be difficult for me, especially the risk of overspil with the brass bits, so for me it helps if I have already put down all base colours on the model, then I can still correct some bits before I get to the wash and subsequent layers/hightlighting. Not that you should do it differently, just putting it out there. I know GW also shows it like you do, but I can't be the only one who can't keep my hand THAT stable. Maybe impatience is partly to blame as well who knows. :)
Now the way I describe the steps in the video is by no means the only way to approach painting your own miniatures. I find that showing how to paint each section individually is much better for conveying techniques. It also helps out people who are maybe only looking to take away how I tackled one particular colours/material. There is nothing stopping you from painting all the base colours, then the washes, then the highlights :D
Yeah I think it would be too messy to show it if you put all the colours on, I get that totally, was just kinda throwing it out there to others as well who look at this and feel like it can't be done. I mean thats a really fucking steady hand haha ;) What about garroburg for red armour, better than Nuln or what do you think?
Can you do the LSM chapter Raptors? Not the Chaos Assault Raptors, really have no idea how to do it coming back to warhammer, cant find anything maybe its the same as Imperial Guard but not sure :) great vid, I'm all of your vids
Aren't the world eaters blood red (now mephiston red as it is called) would it not be easier to instead spray it chaos black then spray it with mephiston red as it would produce the same colour as the khorne red on the uniform grey as the grey makes the khorne red brighter so it looks like blood red, and the chaos black makes the mephistan darker, making it a blood red. That would work better if you were fielding a large world eater army.
khorne red has a distinct blue tint, I guess it works better as a shadow for the red areas than mephiston red would. notice how every exposed area is glazed over with a brighter, more arterial red.
Most paints needs at least a tiny bit of water otherwise it will be too thick and obscure details and it will be harder to paint with as well. Some colors need more than others but generally a drop of water to a few drops of paint is a good starting point.
Always. I usually dip my clean brush into clean water and dab it onto the pallete. Then, dip the brush into the paint pot and transfer it to the palette next to the water. Then draw the paint into the water. Add more paint if necessary. THEN, clean and dry the brush before getting the paint on the brush from the palette. The paint should be mixed with enough water to allow it to flow off of the brush. But not so much that the surface tension of the water makes it bead up and not so much that it becomes too transparent - unless you're going for a glaze. If you don't mix any water, the paint becomes too gloppy (or even chunky) to control. You'll begin to see ugly brush strokes or a grainy texture on the model.
Great tutorial, I have an unpainted Kharn model sitting on my desk that needs to be painted. Is there anything you’d recommend for a less gold look on the trim? Thanks
Use chaos black but use mephistan red instead as khorne red is too dark on chaos black to look like blood, either way it produces the world eater blood red you need. I would recommend spraying it with chaos black then again with the mephistan red spray to quickly get a base colour on your army.
I need to buy him, I just got my copy of white dwarf (pre-ordered sub) and slaughter priest miniature with it.. so I have him to build and paint as well.. do you recommend getting the game that priest is a part of (gorechosen)?
Haven't played the game yet but if you're after Khorne characters for cheap then it's definitely work picking up. It's essentially buy one get one free on the miniatures then you get a board game thrown in too :D
I attempted the Glaze part over the red but it came out looking a bit too thin and blotchy, anyone got any tips or is it just the matter of having a very steady hand?
And make sure the wash pools into these recesses. Pooling that into these recesses just really brings out the detail. Every time you apply a new wash you just gotta make sure it pools into the recesses, and every time it happens, just make sure you always confirm it, by repeating that the wash really pools into the recesses over and over.
Exactly, as I said at the end of the video the paints can be used to paint most Khorne miniatures both from 40k and AoS. Besides you don't need to use all of the paints in the video, it's a guide on how to get an effect similar to the GWs example. You can quite easily cut out of the final step of each stage and still get a good looking miniature.

I don't paint anything by Games Workshop but I love your tutorials. Great work!
Great Tutorial. I love the neatness in your models.
Thank you for this color scheme man, i used this for a khorne knight i was painting, wish i could show ya
Never thought of the oxidizing effect or wash over flesh after all high lighting is done. Always looking for tricks and idea to improve my painting
thanks for the tips on the new kharn didn't have a clue where to start
Five years later, this is the best Berserker armor tutorial
im just in love with this model
Nice tutorial man
Why do you comment on everything?
Because I enjoy all the videos the community puts out and like to support the channels by liking and commenting on their videos :D
Fair enough.
Why do you care?
Simply wow! This is awesome!
Very cool. I'd like to see your approach to bloodletters or other Khorne daemons. Love your style
Ohhh Man....you always surpass my expectations !!! thanks for share your artwork
Your welcome, thanks for commenting!
Should do "the lord of skulls" your paint tutorials are the best.
That Stegadon Scale Green and Temple Guard Blue really need to swap out their names lol Awesome job though!
Fantastic!! I find you are really upping your game as you paint more. Really nicely done.
I'm glad you think that, I've been trying out a few different techniques recently so I'm glad they seem to be paying off.

lmao you can never have too much paint
Really cool man , keep up the awesome paint vids 👍🏻
looks great man
Thanks :D

Fantastic job! I'm looking forward to trying to replicate these results when mine shows up in the mail.
Feel free to share your results on my Facebook page, I'm always interested to see what people take away from these videos.
Really nice! Keep a good work m8!
Thanks!
Fantastic!!
this is awesome

Is priming black to the figure no longer necessary for painting? I just got back into painting after 3 years ago.
Nice vid!
AWESOME !!!
Great tutorial but there was lots of bits missed out and I was constantly having to go back and re do stuff
Awesome video, i'm gonna try this tutorial on my slaughter priest from the White Dwarf, it should be fun :P
Good luck! Feel free to share your work on my Facebook page too
In my school there are painting lessons. Sometimes there is a painting contest and I won this miniature from it

Very nice
Would you recommend a white primer spray or a black one?
Do you recommend I add water when applying paint to ensure the best coverage possible?
Most paints needs at least a tiny bit of water otherwise it will be too thick and obscure details and it will be harder to paint with as well. Some colors need more than others but generally a drop of water to a few drops of paint is a good starting point.

Any particular brushes you recommend?
Very nice. How do you get the glaze to look so smooth
any chance to have a how to paint Abaddon Tutorial soon ? please.
If they release a new mini I might just do that :)
how hard it was to paint legs behind the skulls?
Do you think he would benefit a lot from Zenith highlighting?
Great tutorial, I have an unpainted Kharn model sitting on my desk that needs to be painted. Is there anything you’d recommend for a less gold look on the trim? Thanks
You can dull it down with a heavier wash or use some Nuln Oil instead.
Because I don't like the bare arm of him I put a World Eater shoulder pad (from Forge World) on his left shoulder and painted the arm like the armor
Heresy!
If I don't have uniform grey from army painter. Is chaos black primer still a good choice? Great video
Use chaos black but use mephistan red instead as khorne red is too dark on chaos black to look like blood, either way it produces the world eater blood red you need. I would recommend spraying it with chaos black then again with the mephistan red spray to quickly get a base colour on your army.
Are you able to glue parts on the mini even after you paint it?
Fuck.Yes. Thanks for making this!!!
You're welcome!

amazing)
I miss the Wargamer I wonder where he went
How long did it take you to go from start to finishing this miniature?
Thank you for making these tutorials.
Probably around about 8hrs of work including the filming times/set ups
Thank you very much for the reply :)
also do you have any tyranid video tutorial
I attempted the Glaze part over the red but it came out looking a bit too thin and blotchy, anyone got any tips or is it just the matter of having a very steady hand?
I have the same problem. another coat of glaze usually helps
Yes. Definitely a few thin glazes Just keep building up the color until you get the look you like
How can I improve the flow?
dip the tip of the paint on your brush into water and wipe a little off
And make sure the wash pools into these recesses. Pooling that into these recesses just really brings out the detail. Every time you apply a new wash you just gotta make sure it pools into the recesses, and every time it happens, just make sure you always confirm it, by repeating that the wash really pools into the recesses over and over.
Hoy, can you do the tutorial fort the new noise marine, it's a fucking nitghmare since there are no real indications around.
Took me 16 hours non-stop to paint Kharn...the gold trim was the worst
@8:20 "With the wash dry ... " The wash isn't dry.
It was dry on all of the areas we were going to be painting on that step :P
+The War Gamer I know. I was just poking fun. Finished product looks really nice.
I want to paint Khârn as a African American skin tone but I don’t know any paints to use any suggestions
It’s like $200 worth of paint 😩
He's an awesome model, but it looks like he's tripping over something......
i asked in a games workshop for a cepia shade but only had a sepia shade.
bad joke i know
Got enough paints? Wish I had that much money to throw at a single model
well most of those paints you will use for your hole csm army.
Exactly, as I said at the end of the video the paints can be used to paint most Khorne miniatures both from 40k and AoS. I just mix up colours if I don't have a particular one I need, it's surprisingly easy to do.
