You have no clue how much I love the hint with the small dots in the flames, it is just a small thing but yet so amazing! Thank you very much for that one!
Great video. The Dark Imperium boxed set is great, though it is a nightmare for perfectionist OCD mold line cleaners like myself. I hope to have finished cleaning up the box before christmas for priming by January.
Wow, looks awesome and most certainly would love to see painting tutorials on all the Death Guard individually. As certainly helps more visually seeing on each, as i am one of them that needs to see it on each i.e seperate one for plague marines, foul blight spawn, the tallyman etc. Would love to see individual ones on all the Death Guard. Regardless that is one finely painted model. 🙂
I always love watching your videos. There are so many useful tips and colour schemes to pick up. Whilst all my death guard armour is painted in the pre heresy colours, the tips on the flesh and guts here are definitely going to be used! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The thunderhawk highlight - though sounding peculiar at the start - compliments the black very nicely. Used to paint a lot of WH40k but I ve taken a break last couple of years. Always good to watch a nice tutorial .
Smooth guide dude, makes me want to paint again. I have painted 1 or 2 combat squads of infantry and 1 transport for Tau,Ultramarines, Imperial Guard, Space Wolves, Skitarii and Orks. Thinking of buying a Genstealer squad and their transport (that Goliath seems sweet ! ) to paint but I have to invest again in paints cause they are dried up from not using. Cheers
i'm about to paint this miniature, im not nearly as good with the edging or anything but so many of the techniques you used wer amazing, i really like the skrag brown rust effect i've never thought to use that, video liked and shared
When you paint the fleshshade over the Celestra gray are you using contrast medium on the fleshshade? I’ve tried your method a dozen time to get that flesh look and it never covers the grey the same way- it’s always splotchy, spotty and never covers well
Thanks, I won the Nurgle half of the Know No Fear boxed set on Ebay, and whilst I've enjoyed speed-painting basic Plague Marines, I was looking for tips on how to do justice to the Lord.
Great video as always, just wanted to ask if you could do a video on how to paint Daemons Of Nurgle that are harmonious with this colour scheme? Cheers.
I do like them but I deliberately avoided them in this video. I wanted to show people how they could achieve such effects using their regular paints. If you interested in using the Technical paints on Nurgle minis you should check out my other tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/Qg_v-A_A6kU/v-deo.html
I am, getting the marines ready for priming spray. Only issue I have, is I forgot to get ogryn camo, is there another green that will work? Or should I just wait till I can get it?
i am doing the lord of contagion now, must say, your video is a MAJOR help in it :) I got Ogryn Camo so that was no issue, watched this about 8 times now whilst im painting him :) big thank you again.
Great video! I've noticed that you've started using a lot more water vs Lahmean medium in your layers than previously. Is there a particular reason for this? Thank you!
It really depends on the use, if I'm blending layers of paint then I will probably make use of Lahmian Medium as this helps to provide smoother transitions. If however I applying washes or just want to make the paint a little more manageable I use water. Hope that clears things up a bit!
Apologies in advance for the long the winded answer but here goes.. On an overall darker miniature like this, bright colours tend to 'pop' and draw the eye to them. So I try to keep the brighter colours on areas of detail that I want to draw the eye to, such as the tentacles and intestines. Nihilakh oxide is quite a bright colour and would be quite prominent against the darker colours. However, I wanted the verdigris effect to be more of subtle detail rather than an obvious one. So I opted to use Ahriman Blue instead, it's a similar hue but a little darker and less eye catching. Hope that explains my decision!
How important are the brushes in this process? The videos I watch all have people using brushes with tips like a razor that hold their shape so much better than the ones I have.
Apologies, I’m quite new to the painting. When you say 2 part paints to 1 part water, do you thin your first application? Or do you just go straight from the little bottle for the first application?
It's not the best Spray Paint to use as a primer but it works. I would recommend a spray varnish afterwards though if you plan to use your models on the table.
Looks fantastic. Personally though, I think that 'smoke' should be like poisonous gas. I wonder how hard it would be to paint and achieve that effect..
Is there a Vallejo or Army Painter alternative for death guard green? I haven't been able to get to my game shop to visually compare yet. Thanks so much for all the awesome tutorials. Your skills make me jealous. 😀
I would say that Combat Fatigues from the Army Painter is a fairly good approximation but you might want to mix in a little army green to darken it down ever so slightly.
ahh thanks, ill just drop him in a cabinet when done so should be fine then:) thanks for the info, been wondering since the warhammer tv video made it sound like it could be used as a primer aswell
If I wasn't painting them for a tutorial I would have omitted these areas but as they made a perfect area to demonstrate the technique I thought I would paint the cracks there.
One part water to one part paint means 50% water, 50% paint. When he says 2 parts paint to 1 part water that means twice as much paint as water. Watering down paints helps not only make your paints last a heck of a lot longer, it looks significantly better on models (though due to that, it requires a few layers of the watered down paint sometimes to get the effect you want)
This channel is more like a step up and forward from Duncan Rhode's tutorials. For when you want to explore more techniques like the the crack painting, faded drip stain weathering and similar, while also upping your paint game some. :)
I followed this tutorial and the model turned out great, thankyou!
You have no clue how much I love the hint with the small dots in the flames, it is just a small thing but yet so amazing! Thank you very much for that one!

yes thank you thank you i bought this individually off ebay just for painting so glad to see it get love over multiple youtube channels
I'm glad to be of service!

Glad I could help!
I got this model in the know no fear box set , nice figure .
I recommend using reikland flesh shade as a wash for metallics like balthazar gold. It gives nice definition to the model.
This is awesome ! Great color scheme !
The thunderhawk highlight - though sounding peculiar at the start - compliments the black very nicely. Used to paint a lot of WH40k but I ve taken a break last couple of years. Always good to watch a nice tutorial .
I'm a big fan of the blue/black combo and use it on a good number of my own minis.
Cheers
And I would love to see a tutorial on painting / converting Guev'esa, those Tau / human auxiliaries. Just a thought :)
Really nice painting. very nice cracking effect on armor. A+
Thanks!
Such a talented painter
Thank you!
Nice Job...wish this video was about when I got my lord of contagion with Warhammer 40k conquest
Ya know that new garskargs sewer contrast paint, has a very nice rust effect over white, at least imo ne way, very nice for tank tracks
i'm about to paint this miniature, im not nearly as good with the edging or anything but so many of the techniques you used wer amazing, i really like the skrag brown rust effect i've never thought to use that, video liked and shared

Awesome tutorial, so much detail on that guy
This is definitely the shining gem of the Dark Imperium boxed set in terms of detail!
Wow! This is amazing! How long does it take to learn this technique? I've never painted models befor.
Wow man that paint job is bat shit crazy. Well done.
Brilliant tutorial - great model

After watching this vidio this channel now my favorite place for painting vidio i also do all my death guards like this and i love how well they look
You deserve way more subscribers. Excellent as always!
Thank you :D
Love your videos even thought I don't use GW paints. The techniques are well worth the time.
What do You think about technical paints? Like adding nurgle's rot to the gut or typhus corrosion to the axe or chainmail for example
Truely phenominal work.
May I request you paint a Hexwraith in its WG scheme? Id love to see how youd paint one.
When you used the rhinox hide to create cracks, what color would you use to do that with space wolf armor?
getting it on Thursday, going to use this to add these to my sons army. Thanks.
Enjoy!
I am, getting the marines ready for priming spray. Only issue I have, is I forgot to get ogryn camo, is there another green that will work? Or should I just wait till I can get it?
You could maybe use Elysain Green? Slightly darker but would do the job still.
i am doing the lord of contagion now, must say, your video is a MAJOR help in it :) I got Ogryn Camo so that was no issue, watched this about 8 times now whilst im painting him :) big thank you again.
your vids and painting technics are so good!

Awesome video as always! Any particular reason for using watered down Ahriman insteaed of Nihilakh Oxide?

thats insane!!! so freaking good!!! i dream to have your painting talent!
Just keep on practising and trying techniques outside of your comfort zone! It's the best way to improve your painting skills :)
great vid. Is the Death Guard Green spray useable on a bare model or does it need a base primer such as black or grey? Keep up your great content
It's not the best Spray Paint to use as a primer but it works. I would recommend a spray varnish afterwards though if you plan to use your models on the table.
The War Gamer thanks 😀will be using this as a guide for my death guard. Looking forward to future vids
What is that track used in the background? I’ve heard it on so many hobby videos and tutorials!
definitely better than the GW one!
Wow, thanks! That means a lot :D
waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better.
Always is. The kairos Fateweaver video is my go to tzeentch tutorial!
Great video and very helpful!! Thank you!!!
You're welcome!

Another A class tutorial.. thank you
I am collecting money for an ultimate Citadel paint set so I can follow ALL your tutorials!
Very cool vidéo the lord of contagion are so nice😆
Can you do a Death Guard tutorial where you use nihilakh oxide Riza Rust and Typhus Corrosion
I'll keep it in mind :)
The War Gamer thanks man absolutely love you're vids👍
shame GW can't do videos this good anymore. Thanks for the videos!
You're welcome, thanks for the comment!
Nurgle would be very proud!
awesome tutorial, exactly what I needed! thanks a lot man keep it up!
Really nice!
Awesome! Way better than the official GW one
Thank you :D
pls do a Tutorial on any seraphon miniature
Can you use the deathguard green spray as a primer, on the GW site it says it needs to be used over a basecoat?
Anders Sørensen if you're using a varnish to seal the minature after painting I've had no problems using it as a primer as well :)
ahh thanks, ill just drop him in a cabinet when done so should be fine then:) thanks for the info, been wondering since the warhammer tv video made it sound like it could be used as a primer aswell
Very nicely painted, seems a tad clean for a Nurgle miniature, though.
He's in his Sunday best ready for his meeting with Papa Smurf.
Matt Fucking Ward!
Does alchemist workshops take US dollars cause I’m only seeing pounds
I really liked this video, but one thing bugs me. The cracks painted on the back of the leg would just be covered up wouldn't it?
If I wasn't painting them for a tutorial I would have omitted these areas but as they made a perfect area to demonstrate the technique I thought I would paint the cracks there.
The War Gamer fair enough. Keep up the great work.
Is there a Alchemist Workshop type of store in the USA. I loaded my cart with stuff but seems they wont sell to USA. Rip.
Not that I'm aware of sorry!
Can someone explain the one part paint to one part water thing? I am kinda new to this.
One part water to one part paint means 50% water, 50% paint. When he says 2 parts paint to 1 part water that means twice as much paint as water.

ARescueToaster Thanks for the reply!
Awesome
This vid is good, but u are all crazy if u think Duncan’s is bad.
Thank you this is the best ive seen by far. :-D
Thanks :D
Did you ever work for GW? Your style is exactly the same as theirs. Great work love your videos
Nope, I've never worked for GW. Not even one of their stores.
FCKING amazing !!
What brushes do you use?
On this miniature I made use of a Windsor Newton Series 7 Size 1 and Size 00. I also used a citadel small layer brush for the metallic areas.
This man could replace Duncan Rhodes...
This channel is more like a step up and forward from Duncan Rhode's tutorials. For when you want to explore more techniques like the the crack painting, faded drip stain weathering and similar, while also upping your paint game some. :)
this guy is truly a master but yea as the other guy said duncans is for easy mode beginner painting
For Nurgle!
GW really needs to rename their Balthasar Gold. Even they use it for bronze/brass.
Obviously Balthasar Gelt is just really bad at differentiating metallic colours.
THANKS. REALLY. 😆
I should have paint this figure separately... shit it was pain to try and get to all the little nooks
Love your work❤️! Have you made any conversions för the Turnip28 game yet? If not I think you can deliver amazing stuff for this game.
step 1, have 50 paints.
F
Not bad but I’ve seen better not to be mean it’s more basic I like challenge
