I used a spring loader diamond engrave so it cut based on the pressure. Depth of engraving does not have a specific measure. Whenever you engrave glass, the engrave lines create fracture lines. Stressing the glass will cause breaks on the etched lines. However, it is still plenty strong. If a significant amount of heat were added too quickly, uneven expansion will cause breaking at the lines as well. does that answer your question?
@@IDCWoodcraft thats a perfect answer Garrett, I get the picture about pressure based engraving, thank you very much, I love your videos, you talk with a lot of wisedom/dedication and directly to the cam, it feels very natural. Some videos have a bit volume difference with different clips and could use some color correction, just telling you this because you're a pro and you want to know it :)
@@Bart_Depestele Thanks. I know there is some variation. It depends on when I'm using a mic to just phone. Still a work in progress but always appreciate input from you on how I can improve so don't fret in giving suggestions

Ealhaynes, that should be a great technique for that too my friend. I encourage you to try it!
Hi Garrett, how deep do you engrave the glass please? doest it affect the stength?
