Great video, very informative ! Question , I have a 42 Ford Super Deluxe running a six volt positive ground system. I want to convert it to 12 volts but it came with a new six volt Stromberg e-fire distributor. Is there a way to run the six volt distributor on 12 volts? Maybe by isolating the distributor from the 12 volt electrical system and using a resistor or a drop down transformer to bring the voltage from 12 volts to 6 volts.
Thinking about pulling the trigger on this kit for my 38 plymouth to make it 12v and negative ground. My question is even with the voltage regulator stepping it down to 6v will it still work with the gauges that used to be postive ground? Would you just connect the old postive ground wire to the new postive hot?
Q.I have a 1948 Pontiac 8cyl. "negative" ground" .... you don't mention anything about rotors and points.. but several local shops seem to think they need to change things... I'm not a mechanic- but have rewired my car a few times over 50 years... So I think I can re-wire it myself- but can't get a straight ans. about this area..,and here You mention going from 12v positive to 12 volt neg... I assume I shouldn't have to worry about this am I correct?
Full disclosure they are a sponsor of this video. That being said though, no one on the market makes a better voltage reducer that’s specifically for gauges
I ordered the complete kit from Vintage Auto Garage last year for my 48 F1 but have not installed it yet so this is timely for me. Thanks!
Great! It will practically be the exact same install!
Thanks for sharing this info...seriously helpful! ! Have a great weekend! Be safe!
No problem at all! Thank you for watching
Awesome! I need to start using these
Go for it, they make the install so much easier

I hate to say it but I don’t think it’ll ever run right with any type of reducer, I would recommend buying a 12 volt e-Fire
I sent an email about servicing my car! I look forward to it!
I have been trying to order this but not available, please tell me where to buy it ,thank you

Good Question
What 12v battery would you recommend adding to an 8BA?
It all depends on any accessories you have added to the car. With a stock style set up I always use a 650cca battery
Where can I order this part ?
From vintage auto garage
What is the link to purchase this?
Here is the link Greezy! Just don’t get any grease on those connections!
