This is an All Mountain Terrain Freestyle board designed for the most fun anywhere on the mountain. This is a volume shifted board which is created to be ridden 3-6 cm shorter than your regular length snowboard. New for this year is a wider range of sizes allowing females and smaller people to ride this board also.

I ride a 156 and I’m only 5 foot 7 150 pounds. I still rip it just fine. If you are a good enough rider, you shouldn’t worry
Lets forget the board, that Shirt is dope 😂
I got a 2022 orca 159 I’m over 200 6 foot size 13 flow binding. It lives up to the hype, at least for Me.
Hell yeah, glad you're ripping it!
6ft, 190lbs. Without gear. Boot 10. 153 or 156 do you recommend? Powder trees. Great channel by the way.
I'm pretty sure that's about the same size as Travis Rice and he rides the 153 on the regular Orca. You could do either though, smaller for more nimble, larger for more stability
Looking to get the 2024 version of this. I'm about 5'11 180lbs i ride a signal park 154 as my daily in southern california. Looking to get a powder board for deep days in whister. What size should i get? 150 or 153?
You could do either, but I think you'd be better off with the 153
Hey man, I have question. What size do you recommend me if I am 6’0 but I have 145 pounds. Thank you.
btw one of the best snowboard review content. ;)
You should do the 153
Thanks for the support!
Here's a link where you can buy it from us: www.radioboardshop.com/lib-tech-orca-21.html
I grabbed a 150cm orca this year. Im 5'10 and 155lb. My other board is a 157cm 2019 proto type 2. Super excited to ride this board and interested to see how such a big drop in size feels on this.
That sounds great, 150 is a good size for you for that board. It definitely looks like more of a size drop on paper than what it will feel like. Thanks, and feel free to subscribe!
Hey mate - great review (and t-shirt!!)
So you say it’s not all-mountain?? I thought it was a do it all, with pow focus vs park of course. Cheers and happy winter all !!
It absolutely is an all mountain board and yes it is more pow focused than park.
Thanks, and don't forget to subscribe!
Just got an orca, thanks
👍👍
Do a T.Rice pro 2021 snowboard review pls
Got that video dropping next week!
Great! I will subscribe then. Cause I just bought it and I really want to know if it was a good choice.
Rode the board, wasn't for me, it's weirdly grabby on soft snow with the magnetraction. Floats well but everytime I carve in soft snow it just slows down. I have more fun on the warpig and the k2 excavator.
Good input, I like the Warpig too
Hey I bought this board (153) I usually ride a Lib tech TRS 154 I’m 5’10 190lbs and size 9.5 boot. did I make the wrong choice ?
Yes that's the right size, I would have said the 154 TRS was maybe too small for you
What would be your recommendation for someone 5’9” @200lbs? Thanks
Go 153
Great review! Do you like the new HP over the older version? I’m 5’9 160lbs, what size do you recommend?
HP is usually always better just because there is higher quality core components. You should look at getting the 150 for this board
Would the 156 Orca hold someone 85kg or should it be the 159?
Yeah I think you would be better off on the 156
Really appreciate you making these detailed videos! Just a heads up - I think that the video volume is a little bit low. It's pretty hard to hear you!
Hey I’m 5’11”, 145-150lbs, size 9.5 boot. What size board would you recommend? Demoing a 147 tomorrow per a shop dudes request, but wanted to know what size you would recommend?
I'd say the 150 would be a good size for you
Hey man how was the 147? Which did you end up picking?
Bostonalext hey dude, I demoed the 147, it was solid but felt a little to squirrelly for me. I tried the 153 that same day and felt like that was a lot more stable but a little sluggish for me when I was trying to turn at slower speeds. Ended up pulling the trigger on the 150. It was a solid choice in my opinion, I felt I get the benefits of both the 147 and 153. I’m tearing it up with this thing.
@@dirtyblonde1707 awesome dude thanks for that breakdown! I’m 5’10 140lbs and was indecisive between 147 and 150. Bought the 150 yesterday and sounds like I made the right choice.
I’m 5’2, 115lbs size 7boot. I found sizes 138 and 144 Im not sure which size to get, pls help🥺
You're kind of right in the middle and could definitely do either. If you want a board that's easier to maneuver quicker go 138, but if you want to be going faster more often go with the 144
Hey man, great review, thinking about getting one. I'm 6'1 and 220 pounds. 153, 156 or 159? Thanks!
You could do either the 156 or the 159. If you like to ride fast more of the time go with the 159. If you want a slightly smaller, more manuverable board go with the 156.
Thanks, and don't forget to subscribe!
@@SearchofSnowboarding Perfect man, I will totally keep that in mind when I get mine. Thanks again!
Hey.. 5.11 and 189 lbs… Should i get 153 or 156?
Thanks !!!!
You could do either, but you would be surprised how much longer the 153 rides than you think
@@SearchofSnowboarding i got a friend who s slimmer than me and told me that i would probably sink with 153.😐. I allready bought a 153 and i m in doubt if i have to change it or not.
@@pegas2929 You will not sink with the 153, it has ultimate floatation. T Rice is pretty much exactly your size and he rides the 153 in the regular Orca
Hey Shane, great reviews man! Size question: 5'10, 135lbs, 9 boot. Whats your recommendation? Thanks!!
147 would be a great size for you in this board, thanks dude.
@@SearchofSnowboarding thanks man. Would the difference between a 147 and a 150 be minimal?
I'm 6'1, 190lb with a size 11 boot. Which size do you recommend? I'm deciding between 53 and 56, and I'm mainly getting it as a pow/tree board
You are the perfect size for either, especially since both the 53 and 56 are the same waist width. Since you will be riding in the trees with it you might like going with the 53 since a shorter board will be slightly more nimble.
Here's a link where you can get either from us: www.radioboardshop.com/lib-tech-orca-21.html?id=54088874&quantity=1
Afraid I ordered the wrong size. I'm 6'2 240 and got the 162. I have been riding a 159 rossignol jibsaw wide and I wanted a powder board I could bomb bowls
Size 12 boot
Im looking to get this board, im 5'10 210lbs size 9.5 boots what size would recommend?
Do the 156 and you'll be hyped!
Debating this or a Ride War Pig for an all mountain free ride board that can handle powder. What would you recommend and why?
They are both pretty similar and will ride all mountain and powder great. I felt the warpig was a little more stable because of the flat profile, where the Orca is a little surfier with the hybrid profile
Is this board meant to ride switch? Or just one directional? Thanks.
It is a directional board, but directional doesn't mean you can't ride it switch. It just rides better forward than backward.
Hey is this a great board for beginners to intermediate and what size you recommend I'm 6'1 185lbs and also what step in bindings and boots do you recommend for this board? Thank you!!
Do the 156 Orca, with Ion Step On Boots and the regular step on binding
I’m 5’10 and 160lbs i have the 153 because i like bigger boards, i want either burton genesis or Cartel x bindings but don’t know what size binding i should use people say to go bigger with this board i wear i size 11 boot
Definitely get Large bindings. The Genesis and Cartel x are pretty different from each other. Cartel X is stiff and aggressive, where the Genesis is softer and more comfortable.
Im 5'9 165-170 with size 10.5 boot. Is the 156 gonna be too big?
Yeah, you shouldn't go bigger than the 153
I ride longer boards because im taller, so what t.r. recommends for slopestyle bombers looking for the same results?
Depends on how big you are (height, weight, and boot size)
I am 6'2'' and weigh 220 pounds. Anyone have any idea if i should go 159 or 156.
Go 159 for sure!
Im deciding between 150 and 153 for this board. Im 5’7” and 155 lbs. My boot size is 8. What are the pros and cons of each size and what size do you recommend for me?
Definitely just go with the 150. Not necessarily a thing of pros and cons for each size, but the 150 is just a better size for you
5' 10'' 155 lbs size ten boots... 150 or 153?
Honestly either one would be good for you. I'd maybe put you on the 153, but your call.
Here's a link where you can buy it from us: www.radioboardshop.com/lib-tech-orca-21.html
I have to know how this thing is when there’s no powder? How is it on groomers? Carving hardpack? Choppy skier thrashed shit? I’m stuck between the orca or harpoon
You'll be able to carve harder and get higher on your edge on the Orca over the Harpoon because the Orca is much wider. And it's an all mountain board so it can handle all conditions.
I’m 6” 185 pounds, which size should I go with ? 153 or 156? Going to mainly use it as all mtn board. Size 10.5 boot
You could choose between either. But you are about the same size as Travis Rice and hes rides the 153, I'd maybe lean towards that size.
@@SearchofSnowboarding thank you!
I'm 5'9" and 160lbs and have a 157cm Capita Mercury. Do you suggest the 150cm or 153cm for my size?
You could really do either, but I would suggest the 150 for you
Hey man, I’m 5’11 265lbs with a 9.5, do you suggest the 156 or 159? Thanks
Definitely go with the 159
I’m 5’11 150lbs 11.5 boots do you think I should go 153 or 156. I’m in SoCal and ride big bear and mammoth
You should do the 153 with your weight. Plus the waist width is the same on the 153 and 156 (both 26.7cm) so you'll be fine on the 153 with your boot too.
Here's a link where you can buy it from us, thanks and don't forget to subscribe!
www.radioboardshop.com/lib-tech-orca-21.html
I am 5’8, 183 lbs but size 7 boots. Should I get the narrower 150 or 153?
Get the 150
6"3" and about 180 with size 13 boot. A little worried about the width of this one and thinking of this or the Ejack Knife. Any suggestions? Do you think the 156 or 159 would be wide enough with my big feet? Thank you!
Go with the 156. The 53, 56, and 59 are all the same width: 267mm which is very wide and plenty for your size 13 boot.
Thanks, and don't forget to subscribe!
@@SearchofSnowboarding thanks so much!
What would you say about 144cm vs 147cm? I looked at the stats and they don't seem very different in various dimensions. Just figured with the HP I could size down this year. I think the 144 will be quicker but I don't wanna lose any float or stability either. Any thoughts?
5'5", 140lbs. Size 7.5 boots.
You could do either size. In general any board that is bigger will be more stable, and any smaller board will be more nimble. The 144 is only 2mm narrower than the 147 so it will still float well.
Hope that helps.
Thanks, and don't forget to subscribe!
@@SearchofSnowboarding i figured it was probably 6 to one, half dozen to the other! Using that exact logic, I went with the slightly longer 147cm just for extra edge stability and surface area.
@@tannerk3732 Yeah that's exactly right. You'll be hyped on that size
What bindings would you recommend pairing with the Orca?
The Union Strata would pair great. Here's a link where you can buy it from us, and don't forget to subscribe
www.radioboardshop.com/union-strata-21.html?id=54578086&quantity=1
@@SearchofSnowboarding Thank you! I've always tended to buy Burton in the past. Is there anything specific about the Strata that makes it a great choice? Also would the Burton Step On's be a good option, or is that just crazy talk?
The Strata just has a surfy feel that matches the feel of this board, but you could definitely do Burton as well. The Genesis would probably be the best Burton option for this board.
Step Ons would be a great option too if you're ok with buying bindings and boots. For the step on bindings you would enjoy the regular binding as opposed to the step on x for the orca.
@@SearchofSnowboarding Fantastic! Thank you so much for your help
NOW pilots or IPOs
I run an older pair of NOWs on my volume shifted slush slasher and that skate tech is a great match with those surfy decks.
Hi what size you recommend 5’7” 200lbs size 8 boots?
Do the 153
Hey man, I’m 6’ 155lbs. What size is suggested? 150 or 153? Thanks
Definitely go with the 153, you'll be stoked!
Thanks, and don't forget to subscribe!
@@SearchofSnowboarding Thanks for your response!
6'1 250 lbs. I should rock the 159? U think ?
Size 14 boot
Yeah definitely the 159!
I’m 5’5-5’6 130lbs i recently bought a 150cm. Would that be perfect for me or too big?
It's ok, I would have put you on the 147
Hey, I'm 5′ 9 height and about 173-177 lb weight(Foot size is eur 42.5). Actually i am planning to use this board on off-pist and pow weighted, maybe sometimes in the pist. Which size do you suggest for me?
150 would be a good size for you in the Orca
@@SearchofSnowboarding actually I was going back and forth between 156 and 153 and 153 made sense. Can we evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of 150 and 153 in a little detail.
For almost all snowboards out there a rider will usually have the choice between two sizes like deciding on a 156 or a 158. When choosing between two sizes like this going with the smaller board will mean the board is more maneuverable, while going with the bigger board means it will be more stable at higher speeds
I’m 5’9” and 155. What size should I get?
Get the 150!
Do I need to wax this board and tune before riding?
You're good to go because it's factory tuned
Hi, I’m 6’3” ,shall I go with 159? Thanks 🙏🏻
How much do you weigh?
@@SearchofSnowboarding 196
You could do the 159, but the 156 might be better with your weight.
Here's a link where you can buy either size from us, and don't forget to subscribe!
www.radioboardshop.com/lib-tech-orca-21.html?id=54088875&quantity=1
Im 6'3 around 185-190 and I went with the 156
To me these graphics suck compared to the ones from last year's model
The first year Orca graphic was the best
Pfff, right? If Travis rice can ride this board, anyone can
