Love this board! This is my first board! Having always used rental boards decided to buy this one based on reviews. Took about 3 runs to find the sweet spots on it but it’s a dream on the runs. I’m 5’ 7” 180lbs and got a 159cm. I consider myself an intermediate rider.

Hi! I am 5ft6, 150lbs and have small feet, mens 6,5. I am medium/advanced and like carving at speed, mostly grooming, occassionally powder but all mountain. I’ve beed riding a 159 board wich may be too long but 147 seems very short. What would you recommend?
Awesome review! This review was the reason why I’m buying the orca. I wanted input on size because I’m about to make my purchase. I’m 6’3 215-220 without gear and size 13 boot. What size would work best for me? I’m thinking 159. Any thoughts?

What i found would be capita Mercury with malavitas/Cartel but im a bit overwhelmed by all those reviews and options

great video, loved seeing yall actually riding the board! I'm 6'1" about 160lbs with gear, deciding between the 50/53, love trees but also am an avid powder seeker. What are you thoughts?
What’s up dude!! Sorry this comment slipped past me, I’m almost exactly your size and I’m on the 153. It has been perfect for everything I’ve thrown at it. The 150 is definitely an option, but the 53 will give you more float and is still crazy nimble in tighter trees. Get it!! Hit me up on my profile if you want to chat more
I had a Hovercraft 156. I bought it last minute before my trip to Japan and no Orcas were available. If I were to get this should I got 156 or 153? I generally prefer riding a shorter board for more maneuverability and normally ride a twin that is 152 but for a normal board that is considered to be very short. I'm 6' 150 or so lbs. Also how much different do you think the Orca will ride than the hovercraft?
Hey! I used to own a hovercraft and now ride an Orca 156. There's definitely a difference between the two but they both have their merits. Would love to chat more about it, hop over to my profile so I can ask you a few questions! www.curated.com/referral/franco.dirienzo
I'm an intermediate rider looking for my first powder board. Choosing between the Endeavour Archetype and the Orca, which one do you think is more intermediate friendly? Quicker turn in trees? Thanks!
Paul C hey dude! I haven’t ridden that endeavor but from what I can see it’s going to have a ton of float in powder and work pretty well on harder snow and groomers as well. One thing to note is that the Orca is a “volume shifted” board which means you ride it shorter than normal, it’s wider which means it will have the same volume as an all mountain board maybe 5cm longer give or take. This makes it super quick and nimble in the trees. The Archetype you would ride around the same length as your regular snowboard, not to say it wouldn’t be nimble in pow, usually those fish shapes are pretty quick turning. My recommendation for quicker turns would definitely be the shorter option. The orca is so easy to turn in deep snow and because of the design of its tail it is also super stable for landings if you decide to take a drop or pop off some natural features. Hope this helped with your decision!! Hit me up with any questions either on here or there is a link to my curated profile here as well! Cheers 🤙🤙
I am intermediate rider with small feet looking for my first powder board. I am not sure should a get a traditional powder board (Endeavor Archetype) or a fat and short powder board (Lib tech Orca). I have small feet so toe drag isn’t an issue for me and I worry fat and short board will be too wide for me, is that mean I better stay with traditional powder board?
I would not buy an Orca if I was you. There are so many good powder boards that have a much smaller waist width. Take it from someone with size 12's and HAS to buy wide boards. A board this wide will feel quite slow edge to edge in anything but deep powder if you have smaller feet.
I’m 5’7”/5'8" 180lbs 10us bootsize, I usualy ride GNU PBTX 150cm. I'm planning upgrade for an Lib Orca 2021/2022. I love carving.. quick truns, gromming, powder. Which size whould you recommend 150(same size I have) or 153 ? or should I go smaller 144cm ?
Hey Alberto! Alex, snowboard expert @ Curated.com ( www.curated.com/experts/alex.v ) - to answer your question, because this is a volume shifted board, I would recommend either the 147 or 150 cm depending on what your terrain interests are. I love my heritage, just need something more playful sometimes. Thanks
@@motiv8m3dia really different types of boards on snow, I like the warpig better on hard pack, it's more playful, and I like the way it turns, but the orca was unbeatable in pow, and still decent on hard pack. Thanks for the review. Which one of these two did you guys enjoy the most, Orca or the Never Summer Harpoon? Any details you can share very much appreciated 👍
Alvaro thanks for the comment dude! To be honest I loved them both. They both fill that slot of the volume shifted pow board that can be a great resort board as well. They both have a similar profile with rocker between your feet and camber zones under foot. The most noticeable difference is the feel, to me the harpoon was just a bit more playful and freestyle friendly than the orca. If you like dipping into the park occasionally I would go Harpoon 100%. I've gotten used to the 153 but I found it very short at first and I honestly still think a 156 might have been the better choice. The 153cm is good in powder, but not amazing, you still have to make sure you keep the nose up, it's not effortless like swallowtail powder boards.

Hey Gerald, I think you'd enjoy the 156 more out there on the west coast. I ride a 156 here on the east coast and weight about 30lbs more than you. The 153 might be lacking a bit in deep pow. Feel free to hit up my profile we can chat more about it! www.curated.com/referral/franco.dirienzo

stevros48 yeah I have ridden the 53 and the 56. The 53 is plenty stable for drops but you’re right about the 56 being even more stable. You’re going to notice it does feel like a lot of board, rides like a 163+. To give you some perspective.. Travis Rice is right around your weight and he rides the 153 down insane big mountain lines and some epic pillow lines and it performs incredibly well. It seems like 153 will be too small at first but I promise once you ride it you will understand how the design makes it possible. The “whale tale” technology makes it super stable on drops, it almost shoots you forward and up out of the pow when you land.
@@colby87 ok so the 56 feels like a 163 up ? yeah I will be riding in NZ conditions so a lot of exposed wind affected alpine at my local mountain , yeah I have the libtech mc wayfinder in 153cm so guess I didn't want too much crossover and watched Kevin from snowboard pro camps take on going from the 53 to the 59 although he a very tall guy but he weighs about same as me. Im leaning towards the 53 though as I have got plenty of big boards already in the quiver including the nitro cannon which is 173cm.
Andrej Cat what’s up man!!! Good question. Both have a directional shape of course and are on e stiffer side. The Flight Attendant has camber under foot primarily with a rockered tail and a really rockered nose. That board really excels at holding an edge and going fast. The Orca is camber/rocker/camber(c2x) so it’ll have more of a playful feel too it and charge in deep snow! If you have anymore questions hit me up at curated.com/experts/Garrett.Waliky
SNOWCHANNEL I noticed a slight difference in weight and dampness. I ride the 153 in the 2020 which I love. But just after 2 runs on the 2021 I could feel the changes. Definitely not drastic, but if you’ve ridden the 2020 a lot you’ll notice it for sure 🤙🤙

Alex, snowboard expert @ Curated.com ( www.curated.com/experts/alex.v ) - to answer your question, because the LT Orca comes with a volume shifted shape, meaning it already has a mega-wide waist, you'll want to size down on it 5-7 cm shorter than your usual size. Hmu thru my profile link above if you have any more questions! 🤙 I'm usually pretty quick to respond!
What size would you recommend if I'm 5'8" and 145lbs? thanks!! sick review tho
What's up! I'd recommend you go with the 153 or even the 150 depending on where you plan on using it.
Franco DiRienzo same size riding all mountain, groomers, powder. Park city utah. I ordered the 150 2021
hi there great review im in the market for a new board.. i currently ride a 10 year old burton Vapour 158 and im looking for a change - i ride mostly groomers a little off piste fun hardly ever go through the park. im 5'11 and weigh about 83kg i was looking at a 153 would that be a good size option. thanks again :O))
Hey Jason! Sorry for the late reply!! 153 would be perfect, shoot me a message on my Curated profile if you want to chat more in depth about it!! www.curated.com/referral/colby.henderson
Hi, what bindings would you recommend pairing with the Orca?
Hey! I personally ride the Now Drive on mine, but you can’t go wrong with Travis Rices choice, Union Falcor. There are plenty of bindings that would work on it also if you want to chat about some options AND get 10% off your first purchase shoot me a message at www.curated.com/referral/colby.henderson
Burton's Step Ons
5'10 140 pds. boot size 10. 144 or the 147? thanks in advance
I Just got the 153, Im 5'10 150lbs. Perfect size for me
Hi, I am 6' tall 169lb weight and size 10 boot. is 50 ok for me or 53 is better? as it is a wider board, a bit confuse with the size. thanks a lot
Depends on where you ride, but I'd say 153 or maybe even a 156. Head to my profile we can chat more about it! www.curated.com/referral/franco.dirienzo
You could get by with the 150, but I'd recommend the 153 or 156. You're not going to lose anything with the extra length, but you will gain better float and a more stable ride.
@@francodirienzo6031 Thanks mate

156
Hey guys im 6”0 about 175-180 size 12 boot. Im leaning towards the 153 seems like it will be fun to ride a smaller wider board. I usually ride a bigger board 160 mainly for boot size. but im seeing alot of guys saying 156 is the way to go. Im a cali/utah/Co rider.
@@francodirienzo6031 appreciate the help. 156 is the way ill go!
Awesome vid! I’m 5’11 215, size 12, Utah rider. I’m thinking 156? What do you think?
You're the exact same size as me except I'm a size 10 and I ride a 156, however I'm on the east coast. If I was out west I'd probably go 159 for the deep days. Definitely head to my profile if you wanna chat more about it! www.curated.com/referral/franco.dirienzo
I’m the same size and the 156 is perfect
6'0 195lbs. Leaning towards the 156. Thoughts on the 153 instead?
Hey Kevin! I'm about 15 lbs heavier than you and I ride the 156, but I also rode Colby's 153 and it was super fun. I think it really depends on where you ride, we're both east coast riders. Feel free to hit up my profile we can chat more about it! www.curated.com/experts/franco.dirienzo
I saw you were riding a 150. How much do you weigh?
I rode the 153, I’m 165. If you want to chat about the Orca and what size would be good for you and your riding shoot me a message www.curated.com/referral/colby.henderson
If you guys could grab one, pls review the new GNU Gremlin 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I can’t wait to ride the Gremlin. Hopefully we can get a review up early season
Im 5foot8" tall and size 10 or 10.5 boots , I weigh about 86kg with all my gear on ,Was thinking 156 but could I get away with 153?
stevros48 100% could rock the 153, I would push you in that direction over the 56
@@colby87 thanks I just thought the 156 might give some more tail and stability on pow drops ... I presume the waist width is same on the 156
Have you tried both sizes ? is there any noticeable difference ?
stevros48 yeah I have ridden the 53 and the 56.
How does it compare to Burton Flight Attendant?
Andrej Cat what’s up man!!! Good question. Both have a directional shape of course and are on e stiffer side. The Flight Attendant has camber under foot primarily with a rockered tail and a really rockered nose. That board really excels at holding an edge and going fast. The Orca is camber/rocker/camber(c2x) so it’ll have more of a playful feel too it and charge in deep snow! If you have anymore questions hit me up at curated.com/experts/Garrett.Waliky
is there a big difference in weight and pop to the 2020 model?
SNOWCHANNEL I noticed a slight difference in weight and dampness. I ride the 153 in the 2020 which I love. But just after 2 runs on the 2021 I could feel the changes. Definitely not drastic, but if you’ve ridden the 2020 a lot you’ll notice it for sure 🤙🤙
@@colby87 yeah, i also own the 2020 153
SNOWCHANNEL such a good snowboard. Did you get to let it eat this season?? Any real deep days on it?
@@colby87 unfortunatly not.. Just a bit.. nothing really special, but the orca is amazing!
@@colby87 Hi Colby, can i ask whats the difference you've felt? Also a 5'9" 176lbs should get what size board please?
for all mtn more piste than park
Orca Mtn twin or frontier or DOA
5’10 165. 150 you think? My fear is toe drag as I have size 8 feet. Should I be concerned?
Hey Drew! You could definitely ride the 150 or 153. They are both plenty wide enough at 265 and 267mm respectively. If you want to chat more about that board shoot me a message and we can get you on one!!! Curated.com/experts/Colby.Henderson
I have small size 8 ft. Will the 150 feel too wide? Is volume shift not an option for someone with small feet?
@@dangerdrew313 it’s going to be slower edge to edge than something standard width but still doable depending what your goals are and what terrain you’ll be riding. If you want to dive deeper into this shoot me a message on curated! It’s free!
Size for 6ft 170? 150 or 153?
Tim Hunt 153 for sure. Hit me up on my profile if you wanna go more in depth 🤙🤙

Hi! I am a 5'5" and weigh about 130 lbs. Intermediate rider that is looking to get better at trees and moguls, and love to carve down the mountain with high board tilt. I was wondering which size would be great for me, the 147cm or the 150cm. I had some guy who works at a retail store recommend a 144cm, but I think it would be too short for me.
Matti I would say the 147 would be the way to go at your size, that would give you the most versatility and float. Feel free to head over to my profile we can chat more about it! www.curated.com/experts/franco.dirienzo
50
What did you end up getting? I am similar (5'6" / 135) and was thinking about the 147 ... ride a 150 Jones Ultra Mind Expander but everyone says "go shorter" on the Orca
Awesome review! What size would you recommend? I’m 5”11 240ish size 9. I’m considering the 156 or even the 153, I normally ride a 158-160. Thanks in advance.
Hey! I'm the same height as you but weigh 210 and I ride the 156 currently. I'd definitely recommend the 156 at a minimum, maybe even the 159 depending on how you plan to use it. Feel free to hit up my profile if you wanna chat some more about it! www.curated.com/experts/franco.dirienzo
Juju M hey dude! I think for your weight the 156 would be the one. Head over to my profile if you want to go more in depth with me 🤙🤙

Hey guys!! I’m 6.3 230. Is 159 good for me? Thanks.
I am the same size and that's what I have been riding, it is a game changer.
True or false: These graphics are worse than the previous model
Oh man I have heard mixed opinions on that one haha. I have last years so I have to go with that graphic. The cool thing about this season is the work they are doing with the Orca Conservancy. Pretty cool stuff you should check out their site www.orcaconservancy.org/
@@colby87 yeah i think its really good good what they are doing for the Orcas.
They must have heard you, the 2022 graphic is awesome!
