Hey, that's a slick bind off! I'm unhappy with many BO's because I don't like that knit stitch that is often left on one side or the other. This BO is easy, stretchy and will blend in! So glad the robot overlords' algorithm dropped your gem of a short video into my feed. 🙃
Thank you! Working with brushed alpaca and metal needles, the yarn kept slipping when I was attempting to make the second knit stitch. So I used a crochet hook, and it worked smoothly. I always used a crochet hook for the cable cast on.
Thank you for actually stretching the finished (bound off) sample so we can get some idea of how stretchy it is. I watched about 5 videos trying to get that moment as I'm not quite convinced it is stretchy enough for the shawl edge I'm currently working on. Cheers!

Hello, thank you for your question! The selvedges on this sample piece are a simple garter stitch selvedge: knit the first and last stitch of every row.

How about 1x1 rib would you knit on p stitches?
Great question! You'll work this bind off the same way no matter what stitch pattern you're binding off.

Hi Joode! It's not much different than tinking a plain bind off, you'll just need to uncross your X's as you work backwards. Happy knitting!
Looks easy and practical, but isn't in effect the same as knitting two stitches and then pulling the first stitch over the second one? 🤔
The first stitch is slipped, not knit, so it's basically a sl1-K1-PSSO with less steps :)

How do you keep your stockinette from curling?
We steam all our swatches so they look nice for the videos! (You can see it trying to curl up again at the bottom left.)
