My goodness...just listen to that classy bass...one hell of a bass player that guy, with galley and cane, a bow to him. I don't care what everyone says about him.
This version is enough to move you tears, rage, an epihpany,, and finally peace. This isn't my favorite album musically by Floyd, but if you're wanting that melancholy, Waters-y take on love and the cost of it, this is the album for you.
Absolutely one of the finest instrumentals by Pink Floyd. I remember I listened to a bootleg of a conncert where Rick was playing some badass Hammond organ passages during GGITS. Does anyone know which concert it was?
Good chance the hammond was actually dave. As far as i know dave played the Hammond parts of GGITS live, as he does here. As a matter of fact dave played a lot of Hammond parts in The Wall. He also played a lot of bass in the Floyd records. The more technical bass parts is all Dave!
Claire Torre did the album version in a single take. I always thought that the singer _must be black_; I mean, who could have the pipes to lay this aria down? But Torre is actually white - nobody after her did it as good, and nobody probably will.
The best Pink Floyd's vocals. Like Mozart in several centuries people will still apreciate
I can’t imagine the feeling someone had for years and years after experiencing an awesome concert like this.

roger waters
Dave is a better bass player.
This bass line is nothing short of art. Absolutely insane. Almost as if the entire song was written around the bass.
Probably one of the things I love most about Pink Floyd is that it was written around the bass.
almost like the bass player wrote it ;)
@@giln4689 totally not like this song was a piano ballad written by Richard and one of the only songs roger is not credited first on
Rick's improv on the keys towards the end. Pure beauty.

Viajei de volta para minha adolescência que foi regada com muito Pink Floyd.

@@frankcaballero2300 yes, as well as One of these days, Hey You and possibly Sheep.
Niente di meglio!!!

Actually she did in 3 takes, then they mixed up all three to put on the final version
in my humble opinion, Sam, durga and Claudia from the Pulse concert did even better than Claire. It took 3 to do slightly better than one.
She did three takes, still the first one is on the record. Bianca Antoinette came very close ...
Actually was in three takes.. and they mixed all these three in the original version.
Whose voices here?
Probably the Blackberries-Carlena Williams and Venetta Fields.
I prefer the original
This version sucks.
Les voix dysotpiques... 😲😂
