What’s your favorite item?
Skelly lenses for a pump my favorite 👍
That awesome International
The airplane parts and lights.
You know mine, you stole it too, great buy.
@@Mr.Howell78k I’ve lived this long and I’ve done much worse as a kid 😆
That is why my wife does not trust me to go to auctions. I will find so much stuff that I don't need that I "have to" have and know that I can make money on.
My wife has a glass rolling pin like the one you bought. She fills it with ice cubes to roll out dough that has butter chunks in it. That old Chevy sedan is the pick of the litter. The 2-tone green paint does it for me.
25:35 - Once cleaned up those lights sell for more than 200 pounds each in the UK.
Like your style man.
I love that Chevy Car you just bought.❤❤❤❤❤
I’m fascinated by the Amish auction team.
I was too. They did a awesome job
They’re great people to work with.
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratchwhat else did they sell to eat? 🍔?
We’ve been spending most our lives living in an Amish paradise
@@Mr.Howell78k Chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, etc. It’s all good stuff
I think the glass rolling pin is designed to be filled with ice, which makes for better dough.
Wrong.... It's meant to be filled with human blood......😢
Those glass squares were made about 15 miles from me, use to be one of the biggest factories around,, the town made a big memorial display for the company.
I still love those glass blocks. I would have bought the lot of them. I recently bought 6 rose-colored blocks that cost around $300...from Pennsylvania, if I remember correctly.
Silas, the optical device you bought is a surveyor's transit. with the wooden case it is probably worth a pretty penny especially as it is a very old one. 🥳👍
I used one during a college geology field class in the the 1960's. Plane table mapping.
@@janblake9468 Same here. but it was a drafting class around 1963. It helped me later when I was a photo interpreter in the military.
@@garycook2355 I was in a high school drafting class in 1963. Teacher thought I was so good that it should be my career. I tried for the Army in 1969 just after college. Wanted to be a photo interpreter because of my extensive experience with aerial photos, but was medically rejected.
Man Silas, I like your taste of odds and ends with antiques included! Nicely done sir ✔️!
Dang Silas, you stole that truck! We really enjoy your auction videos. Keep up the good work!
ice filled rolling pin makes great pie crusts
Hello Silas, which I wasn't half way across the states from you, I absolutely love the jail bar Ford. Hope it finds a good home. Take care 👍
Very nice, thanks for sharing and taking us along!
Sir, there are just a few Aironicas left, there is a club of owners that would maybe buy that frame and mags. They meet yearly and fly their planes to air fields for their meet, it a beautiful old plane.
Great video. I love the auction videos.
That L series International was the pick of the auction. I wish there was a good use for those old timers. I'd like to see more of the old grain trucks saved.
#1 Ford truck, the lights, and the 2 brass/copper lights and all those airplane parts. SCORE!
Those Amish auctions are the best and when the ladies have food and drinks that's an EXTRA BONUS!
That going to be a great profit for you. Congratulations on your big SCORE!!!
I sure miss that ole familiar song of an auctioneer and the smell of barbecue and visiting with people.
Hi Silas the airplane parts you bought maybe get a hold of Jimmy's World UA-cam. He is al about airplanes he might be interested. Awesome what you are going to do with the Chevy clean her up before and after. looking forward to your next adventure.
Great as always!
From: Yorkshire, England . Thank you one again for taking us to one of the very best auctions yet. Trucks, planes, bikes and a car. Happy days. To you your family any well and happy.
4:45, I have a soft spot for vintage International trucks like the red one. Quite a clean looking truck.
Very nice truck and a fair price. No room for me to make anything on it tho
I would try to list the plane parts on a Alaska market. Page only for air crafts. Just a thought
Great video, always an adventure, usually watch these auction videos 2 times, Thumbs up
Here in alaska, plane parts are hard to come by and sell for great money... even the wooden planes are big money .... loved the rigs ya bought
The glass rolling pin was filled with cold water to roll out dough. I have about a dozen filled with vintage marbles in wine rack display.
Saludes Silas,,,que buenas compras 🎉 mas a tu coleccion 😊
Wow... as an airplane guy... just wow. I recognize 95% of those parts. I used to own a Luscombe 8E like those parked outside.
EDIT: You made out like a bandit. I'm just depressed.
Yes that was cool wow
I am from out of town I enjoyed this auction first for the cool stuff you are hunting but even more interesting is watching the people in the background at this time in my life i doubt I would ever visit this kind of community and all its diversity it was nice to see and share so thanks for that part and all the support actors aka extras
Excellent 🎉
That Ford truck was very well bought. Great haul.
Fantastic score on that truck. We can only dream about finds like that in my neck of the woods (Eastern Ontario). We use a lot of salt in the winter and the rusties have a field day. Not many of the farm trucks were ever stored under cover and the ground moisture just sped up the rot. That light you got with the four lens's looks like it came off a railroad yard switch. The old transit level and case are worth big bucks to a collector or a surveyors office.
At 1 auction there was a 30 lb jug of R12 open but more than 1/2 filled.
I ask the auctionar about it & he said he couldn't sell it, but he didn't care if it disappear
I think you did pretty darn fine for that eclectic haul! I'm betting your reselling the aircraft rudders, flaps, fuselage parts are going to do you proud as art!
Great video, Silas!
That scope is for surveying the landscape lol and you need the measuring stick to that too.😊
That 50 / 51 chevy is a beauty ... great ol Ford you got ... thats a barn full of airplane parts n structures
Weston Meters are awesome retro. And very well made. They made a variety of meters. The black case is bakelite. I’ve used different types of Weston meters working in aerospace.
I loved the old truck. It is in great shape. Should sale easy.
Already did, ask me how I know lol.
The plane props will be super cool wall art.
Enjoy your videos. Love the auctions.
Keep em coming.
And hunting for for mushrooms not to bad.
I prefer the store bought kind.
I Love the old farm trucks !
I'm looking to start buying them for a collection of my own !
Allways good to look around the back areas you might just find the bit your looking for and the seller hasnt a clue what it is 😊
Those 2 Tractor seats and a Couple old Milk cans.......attatch the seat to the lid with a Carrige bolt nut and washer.....instant Bar Stools. Very Comfortable too.
The glass rolling pin came from Pier 1 store it originally had the ingredients for chocolate chip cookies inside. When empty, you're supposed to put ice chips in it for rolling flan. I sold one back in 2007 or so.
Great videos as always. Even tho its cool to be at these auctions as the house was sold too i guess it was an estate of someone who passed. Sad to see someones collection/junk get sold off.
Both of my boys worked for Sensenich propeller in Plant City, FL when they were in high school. I’ve got one hanging on my wall!
You fill the rolling pin with cold or ice water 💧 😊i loved that international truck and Ford truck 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Love the jail bar Ford and the Chevy big time
I had to look up N71617, the tail number on one of the planes. 1946 Luscombe. Wrecked in 2018 during landing, landing gear fatigue. Registration still active, it appears.
The old truck is cool but the 51-52 Chevy is my heart's desire.
Back in the late 70s I had a 51 sedan delivery. It's life was ended by a drunk woman in a Ford Torino. That waterfall art deco grill is the best looking of the late 40s early 50s.
If I had the way and means she would be mine.
Cheers
Terry
My favorite was the magneto in the box. Fabulous 👌
Love those Auctions - Great Truck - Car and all those Airplane Parts and Boxes of Odds and Sorts - You got some very Good Deals on all of the Stuff you bought ! The Wooden Airplane hanging at the ceiling would be my Favorite - followed by all those Airplane Parts - Truck - Car - Lights(these You got sooooo Cheap - wow) ! Great and Enjoyable Video - many Cheers from Australia !!!!
Too bad you didn't get the WW1 helmet..you could use that and continue working during a hailstorm....ha ha!
The items that you were purchasing inside the barn - for $1 each - appear to be wing struts. They would form the inside ribs of
airplane wings. Probably valuable to the amateur aircraft hobbyists that build their own planes. Unique items.
Wow the Airplane parts in that one shed has so much there is probably near $100,000 worth of parts there alone. But I agree the two trucks are definitely worth picking up if you can get them cheap enough. Wow you did buy a whole lot of stuff and your pockets were a bit empty when you left I am sure. Thanks for taking us along Matt.
Good afternoon I love your channel, a fan from Portugal 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Love the old chevy car, looks to be about a 53
glad to see you get some really good deals here on everything
Good work Silas❤❤❤❤❤
Has to be one of your Best Buy’s ever ! You scored big time. I’m sure I don’t need to tell you but research ALL of those plane parts well. The Aeronca’s are my favorite, i soloed in one.
the 2 brass / copper lights are cool , but then so is everything else , so good
I think that the Ford truck will be a beauty on the road again. Yours Mads, from Denmark
Great score. Some people fly by the seat of their pants 👖.
But in this case you buy by the seat of your pants 😉🤣. Like I said great score.
I was born in 57 as well end of June. Tell your dad Happy Birthday from me.
You will do well with the lamp shades
And plane stuff
But that Red truck ❤ 💯 lush
Really Cold water into the rolling pin makes much better pastry. Love this channel.
Glass rolling pins you put ice water in summer to keep dough Cool and stop getting sticky
You can buy a cheap tripod & elevation stick at HD or Lowes for the transit level
Airplane makes a good hanger for restaurant displays
Glass rolling pin .you pot ice water in it to keep your dough cool
the old chevy"53" i think for sure my favorite
Yeah swap frame add discs and a 350
Eave patina
@user-ht1xu4gv2u good ideal ,I was thinking 351
I know you sold some of it already but the gas pump signs and the fuel pump nozzle would've made some excellent pieces for a Halloween display! I wouldn't be surprised if Silas picks up a skeleton or other Halloween decoration at some auction! 😃🤑👍👍
you can put ice water in the glass rolling pin to work on dough that needs to stay chilled
What a neat auction! Lots of neat stuff!
Great video!!!
The sales are Great , you never know what you will come across!!
Wow,that was cool.i was wishing I was there too.i like the plane frame for the kids seat idea.throw on some little wings that they can use as a table.good film work.😊
Man your a hard-working guy!! I go to those sales by myself too. Sucks having to load all the stuff by yourself...Cool stuff.👍👍👍
Great deal on the jail bar Ford!
The aviation stuff is cool. Great for a desk or shelving.
That glass bread roller is exactly what I need...
put ice in rolling pin to keep pastry cool while rolling for better texture.
For a real entertaining video (for us at least) Silas ought to bring his wife along to the auction just for her reactions to what he's bidding on...
There was tons of cool stuff at that auction. My favorite is definitely the jail bar Ford. Good looking truck!
I really enjoyed the auction video. I like to see more of those. They're very interesting.
Hello from land o' lakes,wi...great vid,,its funny to still see scrap metal in dumpsters today,,,i try to educate as many people as i can,,just scratch the surface it seems,,.i recycle metal here everyday,,fun what i bring home after going to my yard,,😮,,,tnx, pat&family
That old Chevy car was really cool you should restore that bad boy
I think that you have a problem!
And I love it!
Happy holidays to u and ur family enjoy ur videos keep them up ir brings me memories my dad died years ago and we had same thing auctions. Junking treasure hunt thanks for bring good memories
1951 Chevy was a great buy . Suprised not one of the young kids wanted it for a project . The trim on that car is worth $2'000.
Glass piece is a rolling pin for pastry
The truck is nice I hope you get it started
With airplane tail was thinking of movie second hand lions lol ty brother u put a smile on my face
Just found this channel, it's friggen awesome!
Very cool vid u did good silas go go go 😊
Don't forget to wave your wings when you fly over my house Silas so I'll know it's you.
🤓👍
Glass rolling pin is to be filled with ice and water, to keep the butter in the pie crust solid and the crust flakey and wonderful.
That plane parts pile you scored is worth something to someone for sure. Those skies for the aircraft are worth the most I am guessing.. but you didn't get those. Oh well. Nice haul, great share.
Airplane parts.were awesome.
Good evening man
Those wings with “2136B” are from a Luscombe.
