If you were making $980 profit off of someone, simply because they don't know information isn't polite. Please and thank you's mean nothing if the person is robbing you. Lol. Offering the owner more money would have been the polite thing to do, not exploiting her ignorance. But that's just the reality of what you already knew.

@@AlwaysNerdyTV Garage sales are about getting rid of excess clutter in your house all at once. If the seller wanted to get top dollar for each item, they would, but it would take years of ebay auctions and a LOT of time. No one got cheated here. I'm pretty sure you've not lived long enough to have your own home, but if so, not long enough to accumulate a bunch of clutter that you don't use anymore. Most people throw stuff out instead of having a garage sale. They are happy if they make $100-$200 for the stuff they would've otherwise thrown out, PLUS they now have a cleaner house without all the clutter to go with the bit of money they made. This is how it works. I'm going to assume most people who complain about this type of thing are very young.

Growing up with my grandparents we would find garage sales almost every weekend together. I grew to love it very much as a kid. I haven’t been in probably 15 years and my grandfather passed away in 2015. I spend a lot of time watching these videos and reminiscing on those times as a kid :). Thank you!

Great tip I learned. (I buy to upcycle) If something has a sticker that needs to be removed a small crafter's heat gun works awesome! Some hair dryers if hot enough work too. It melts the glue. Be careful and keep a bit of distance if the sticker is on that old fashioned crisp plastic packaging as it might warp it a little. Goo gone can be good for old sticker residue.

You can Test for Bakelite. Original 409 cleaner, dip a Cotton Swab in the 409, rub on the suspected Bakelite for a few back and forth motions. If the cotton swab turns a florescent green or yellow, it's Bakelite. It has to be original 409, no lemon or other additions. Also cotton swabs must be 100% cotton. Try to rub in an inconspicuous spot, and then rinse it off when you are done. Don't get it on rhinestones also. Hope this helps!

Rule of thumb for baseball cards. NEVER buy lots from the 80’s. During the 1980’s more card brands produced, so it wasn’t just topps. You know have topps, fleer, donruss, etc. because of this, 99% of cards from the 80’s are worthless. The 90’s however has some awesome potential because you can hit huge rookie cards such as Derek Jeter. If I buy baseball cards it’s usually pre 80’s or 90’s. Hope this helps :)
