😆 My dear, while I may find movies about infidelity incredibly fascinating I really hate adultery. Especially when, in cases like this for example, it’s downplayed or treated as being secondary. Also, don’t present struggle love to me in a movie and then try and package it to me as soft love as if I don’t know what soft love should look like. You’re taking me for a mug at that point. 😠
In fact I was at a Wema bank and Nollywood event yesterday where the creator of the show was also present and I said to the people on the panel that once the current season of Arese’s very popular show is over, I’ll review it. So I’ll review it soon. Hang tight. 👊🏽🎬🍿
Yikes! 😬 Ok, but would people really be keen on watching a romcom where a woman is the one who ‘saves’ or purses the man? Especially seeing as the prevailing audience of romcoms is women? PS: I have nothing against feminists or feminism. To be quite honest with you I’m not too sure I fully know what feminism is because it’s been thrown around so much and there are different versions of it so when it’s brought up like now, I’m not even sure what version of feminism or type of feminist were talking about. I’m very open to being enlightened about it though.
@tito na wa for u. Have u not heared d quote "Dare to be different" 😂 must man always go the woman . Who says u cant change d formula. That mentality is affecting a lot of relationships. Watched it and enjoyed it
Well, you’re right sha. It doesn’t always have to be a man that seeks out the woman but at least let the man be worth it. Or let the woman’s offense be so big that it’s understandable for her to go and seek him out to make amends. I just didn’t feel like Eddy was worth all the effort that Zandi put into that relationship. Also, HE WAS MARRIED FOR GOODNESS’ SAKE! 😤🤯😤 And it didn’t even feel like him and Amaka were really over. They were way too casual for a couple where one party claimed to be done with the marriage.
There 4 character arc archetypes namely: postive (character becomes a better version of themselves), Negative (becomes worse), Anti-arc (becomes a completely different person e.g Saro in 'Anikolapo') and then flat-arc (Doesn't change e.g Zandi in 'soft love). I think Zandi being flat was intentional. I think the 'soft love' is an antithesis cos nothing is ever as rosy as it seems. I don't think it's a reinvention of the rom-com formula but just an attempt to give us something different.
Before I watch
Tito I missed yewwwww, I kept saying I’d come and disturb you on instagram. I feel bad you beat me to it. Oya make I watch your review
