- First and foremost this video is not mine. I edited the video to start when the first starship appears. Being a Star Trek fan that is the part I am most intreasted in. I posted this video not realizing I made it public. Now that I now it's public it will remain so. Those accusing me of "stealing" the video are quick to judge and slow to ask. Transport a half dozen photon or quantum torpedoes into each basestar and watch the fireworks. Game-Set-Match.
I doubt that one base star could hold up against even one Star Trek ship for more than a few minutes. The Federation ship would be able to locate the power core with sensors then fire maximum phasers right at it. The photon torpedoes do a lot more damage.
Pity they don't do that during the dominion war, or vs borg cubes.
blindandwatching One big flaw is that there isn't a single Cylon raider in sight. Those would have made it trickier for starfleet.

@@curseofgladstone4981 you're thinking of the crappy 'remake' Battlestar Galactica. The Original Series Cylons were MUCH more powerful than the new version.
Granted the Original Series Baseships held far fewer fighters (a full compliment being only 300), but the Original Series Baseships had Shields, dozens of missile tubes (similar to the missile tubes seen on Borg vessels for their Photonic Missiles as well as Star Trek's Photon and Quantam Torpedo tubes), several Mega-Lasers, and OVER a 100 Laser Turrets (watch the final episode of the Original Series where Commander Adama tells that to the pilots).
On the one hand you are EXACTLY correct in saying that the Cylons have NO chance against Starfleet, but that's ONLY if Starfleet fights the new weaker Cylons.
On the other hand, if Starfleet fights the more powerful Original Cylons than the Cylons would win, although just barely.
Just my own personal opinion anyway.

The ships in the original series did have both electronic and armor shielding
@@quacksackerthegreatstarfir6996 Dalek Flying Saucers in the Doctor Who TV Series have very powerful energy shields and missile and particle beam weaponry too as well.
The borg don't use a steady shield frequency but it rotates so the Federations phasers are at a disadvantage sine they aren't normally rotated.
The Borg have an adaptive electromagnetic field, which is honestly absurd since all matter is surrounded by magnetic fields.
I'm glad others have commented on this before me. Great animation, but "in reality" one Galaxy-class ship would take down three Basestars...easily.
A Star Fleet vessel against a Base Star would be like an M1A2 Abrams against a WWII Tiger. Total annihilation.
I get the analogy you are going for, but wwii tanks would to serious damage to modern tanks, I think the comparison would be more like an Abrams against a ww1 tank which sports 1/4” of armour.
Wow, suddenly my childhood days of watching reruns of the original Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek back to back on the Sci-Fi Channel came flooding right back into my mind!!!
The whole video is much better. I always find myself urging the Enterprise D to get there faster while watching Galactica struggle. I have always thought this is how Battlestar Galactica should have ended, with Baltar facing down a fleet of ships from the thirteenth colony.
It's taking WAY too much time for the cylons to be blown out of the stars. Calling the battle a mismatch doun't even begin to cover it.
Pretty sure the Cylons don't even have shields.

Don’t know how powerful basestars mega lasers are but i “bet” that starfleet shields could take the hits. As for the phasers and torpedos?? They would rip through the base stars like a warm knife through butter. The cylon armor couldn’t survive that many hits.
The battle of the Star Ships are just amazing, it blew my mind. How could this be so real? Lets stop making airplanes and space shuttles. Lets make something that is completely so amazing that the Star Ship USS Enterprise to be lifted completely from a television set into real life. I want to see what started as Gene Roddenberry's creation to actually appear in real life. And to create a torpedo that actually be a most effective defense system from enemies.

1 year ago I strongly agree. Plus the Federation's strongest, heavily armed, fast, maneuverable, and top of the line starship in my opinion being the Sovereign class starship (USS Enterprise NCC-1701 E) totally ROCKS! Starfleet makes much better, faster, maneuverable, more advanced, extremely powerful, and very adaptable, combat capable starship's than what the EVIL tyrannical Galactic Empire (from Star Wars) can dish out in my opinion.
A Star Trek BSG cross over movie would be great where BSG finds the Star Trek universe Earth

Pretty sure that Galaxy Class or that Sovereign Class Especially are all that's necessary to take out at least two Basestars. Starfleet's Phaser & Targeting array can just knock out all the Cylon Raiders like a flyzapper.

Galaxy, Sovereign & Defiant ships I recognise but what is that sort of Voyager but not? Cylon baseships wouldn't have lasted 10 seconds against just one of them anyway.

Cylon ships don't have shields or hulls made from a scifi materials like starfleet does. If the raiders would even make it close and somehow were not vaporized on the spot by full spread phaser barrage, they would do no damage to the shields or the hull anyway. In the end it would not matter. 1 photon torpedo would be enaugh to disable if not to straight up destroy the base star.
forget the photons, one Quantum torpedo from Ent E would vaporize a base star

One galaxy-class pre-dominion era is probably what you'd need to take out 2 starbases, maybe all of them if Picard snaps
There are no sci fi space ships that can compete with Star Trek. Most all other sci fi shows base the ships on real physics and realistic weapons abd damage. Star Trek is totally different. From the shields to the transfasic torpedoes. Cant compare because not apples to apples. But I do like the video.
Nice rendition that takes the 3 dimensional approach. I doubt it would take much for a star ship to destroy a basestar. A basestar would have to send out little bitty fighter ships to protect it, which would have no effect on the shields of a star ship. Meanwhile the star ship could take its time to target the core of the basestar with a couple of photon torpedoes

I love the Cylons tanking the Federation ships, but I wish they were depicted dishing out just a bit more.
Both Star Wars and Star Trek throw around some wild numbers for their weapons and shields. This depiction feels like the shields are on par with the Federation (if not better since they're out numbered) and I could go for more Federation ships peeling off with damaged nacelles to match the Colonial's fear of them.
Too bad so many people want to cast the Cylons as wimps. I could go for a Galactica series with the Cylon Basestars like in your video.
This battle reminds me of the Iranian oil platform bombardment by the US Navy.

Cylons have no shields and only lasers as weapons.
Lasers can't even penetrate a Starships navigation shields let alone there main shields.

A Base Star does have missiles and the dreaded Mega-Pulsars but that is also a type of laser.

@@Debbiebabe69 small fighters are pointless in Star Trek because of how powerful the shields and weapons of capital ships are. Any time someone tries to take on a capital ship in a shuttlecraft they are instantly disabled or destroyed without ever being a threat to the larger starship. Star Trek ships have too overpowered of targeting systems and they could clear out hundreds per minute each.

Several things:
1st - great video dude;
2nd - that being said however, I'd like to point out that like EVERYONE else, you completely REFUSE to use the FAR MORE POWERFUL Cylons from the Original Series Battlestar Galactica, and INSTEAD use the weak Cylons from the PATHETIC 'remake'.
It occurred to me within the last year just EXACTLY why everyone uses the weaker Cylons from the PATHETIC 'remake/reboot'..
That reason is this:
The Cylons from the Original Series Battlestar Galactica are simply TOO POWERFUL,
I'll give a PERFECT example:
An Original Series Cylon Baseship carries a FULL complement of 300 fighters, has several dozen Missile Launchers (the ONLY Solid-Projectile weapons that either a Cylon Baseship OR a Battlestar has I'd like to point out); at LEAST 4 Mega-Lasers (the bigger shots originating from the OUTER EDGES of the Cylon Baseship, and OVER 100 Laser Turrets.
Now I obviously DON'T know how many Tie Fighters even a Super Star Destroyer carries, but I'd imagine that it's NOT 300 fighters.
So here's my question in a hypothetical 'what-ifs scenario:
Let's say that the Cylon Imperious Leader somehow discovered a 'wormhole/Spatial Anomaly'' that leads to a galaxy "far, far away".
Let's further suppose that His Eminence the Cylon Imperious Leadet sends ONLY 100 Cylon Baseships.
Right there, that's 30,000 Cylon Fighters armed and ready.
My question is this:
Just EXACTLY how many Star Destroyers (INCLUDING the 'Executor-Class') would it take for the Galactic Empire to deploy a SIMILAR number of fighters?
I'm not saying, I'm just saying.
Do you think the Cylons could hack the Starfleet ships?

There's no real doubt here , given the matter of fact superior shielding and other tech , of the Star Trek universe . And I'm not just referring to the later versions , but also the original .
I love both franchises , but it's pretty obvious neither Battle Star Galactica nor Star Wars producers , were envisioning a debate over superiority . Lol.
A fairer simulated fight , should be between the Battlestar Galactica universe vs Star Wars . Or Battlestar Galactica vs Buck Rogers, etc

To this day, all those channels who post 'what-if' scenarios involving two separate universes have NEVER posted a video featuring the Original Series Cylons. They ALWAYS use the new weaker Cylons from the crappy 'remake'.
Well, at least as far as I know. If anyone actually HAS done a 'what-if' scenario video using the Original Series Cylons I'd LOVE to watch it.
I honestly don't care whether the Original Cylons win or lose, I'd simply LOVE to see a FAIR 'what-if' match-up utilizing ALL of the Original Cylons strength.
The 'what-if' vs scenario I'd love to see the most would be 3 Original Series Cylon Baseships taking on Star Destroyers from Star Wars. To give the Empire a fair chance, I'd give the Empire up to 20 Star Destroyers, as well as a Super Star Destroyer. I say that because the Star Destroyers have to CONSTANTLY reposition themselves to fire at an enemy vessel since the MAJORITY of their Turbo-Lasers face forward, while an Original Series Cylon Baseship has a 360 degree firing range thanks to it's circular shape. And you take into account that a single Original Series Cylon Baseship carries a FULL complement of 300 fighters, has dozens of Missile Launchers (the ONLY Solid-Projectile weapons that an Original Series Cylon Baseship OR Battlestar has I'd like to point out), at LEAST 4 Mega-Lasers (they fire from the outer edges of the Cylon Baseship), and OVER 100 Laser Turrets (which going by what was seen in the Original Series Battlestar Galactica are at LEAST as powerful as the STRONGEST Turbo-Lasers of any Star Destroyer we've seen on-screen).

Uh, where are the raiders? Cylon basestars are basically carriers. They have over 300 raiders and you take that out, theres no fight lol
Most of them were destroyed fighting the Colonial Fleet. The Galaxy Class cleaned them up. You don't see it because this is an edited video of the original. Search youtube " Star Trek vs BSG " and you'll find the full length original. It's 23 minutes long.

How do we know that the cylons didn't create the Borg?
Either they evolve into the borg or the borg force them to assimilate. I do think that the concept of machines evolving from bio creators is inevitable just like skynet.

It would be cool to see the federation vs cylons in an on world fight. Or deta vs a cylon. Of course halfway through the fight deta would feel conflicted the picard or troy would rush in and help him deal with it. Then the cylon deta was fighting would turn good and then take worf's spot on the enterprise while worf is on ds9. After st2wok the star trek universe just went gay.

The fighters might give the starfleet ships a problem since they could doge the phaser beams. lots of tiny pricks till they bring down the shields.

1: It's boring... just a group of ships picking on a smaller group of ships [No character interaction] (Even though I know the background of both groups i.e. "White hats" vs "Black hats") it's just a group of bullies in action!
2: It's riddled with pseudo-fantasy fictional inaccuracies:
...A) while the base ships are a VERY stable platform, their weapons systems [mono-frequency beams (LASERS)] would be hopeless against the Federation dynamic shielding.
...B) The Fed weapons (Both Phasers & torpedoes) are being fired from weapons platforms that are moving so erratically that only a Cybernetic Intelligence would have a hope of accurately aiming at their targets... and we all know there's only one ship with a C.I. and it's not the Defiant. Also who is to say that the C.I. in question wouldn't side with the Cylons... He (IT?) was tempted by the Borg in First Contact.

No way Star Trek universe ships could lose. They can fight while moving faster than light.....the Cylons cannot. Federation ships could literally outrun Cylon direct fire.
