Great reaction. She already had this presence at the age of 16.

Right?! She's meant to be in BabyMetal!

Great reaction. As you have been told 'Akatsuki' is one of Su-metal's solo songs (Yui and Moa also had 4 songs they would perform as a duo called Black BABYMETAL without Su ... they all got a chance for a rest in shows with the solos and Black BABYMETAL duets).
The Nippon Budokan in Tokyo is a martial arts arena built for the 1964 Olympics - now also the most prestigious venue in Japan for concerts, it is the place all Japanese and many foreign artists dream of playing and only a few get there.
BABYMETAL are the youngest average age female band to ever headline at the Budokan - Su was 16, Yui and Moa only 14 ... they sold it out 2 nights running.

Super impressive. Such a young group at that time and was so successful already that they could have concerts at such an amazing place!

@@lilyanyan So true - they had built up a good following, but these concerts were also just a few days after the release of their first album.

    Nice reaction, thanks!
"Akatsuki" is my absolute favorite song and this is my favorite live performance. I know there are other performances arguably better, probably because of Su-metal's vocal maturity (she was only 16 here), but this one, or better, her three solo songs from that particular concert, made me realize I was a fan.
    🤘🦊

She only has three solo songs? I guess I say "only" since BabyMetal debuted many years ago :) or you mean just in that particular concert? haha.

    • @road-runner
      @road-runner 7 місяців тому

@@lilyanyan She has only four solo songs in total. In that concert she sang all the three she had at that moment. "Rondo of Nightmare" premiered the previous day (at the same venue).
After their second album there has not been more solos by Su. Only "Kagerou" originated as a solo (under the name "Tattoo").
It's complicated. It's been like this probably due to Yui leaving officially in 2018. They used the solos and the Black BABYMETAL (a duo formed by Yui and Moa) songs to give some rest to the others during concerts.
Now that they are a trio again, they could bring back some solos and maybe new Black BABYMETAL songs. But who knows...

    _Akatsuki daaaa!_ 🦊🤘🔥
Another nice suggestion to enjoy a SuMetal solo, the deceiving slow ballad intro turns out it becomes a stripped unique live version with Akatsuki Unfinished Version live at Legend 1997 in 2013, another highly recommended song.
While SuMetal is performing this, the other girls are taking a break to come back after this song and perform their own songs under Black Babymetal subgroup.
This is live at Budokan 2014, reaching this huge goal with only 16 and 14 yo, big international artists performed here like The Beatles among many others, so you get the idea how huge this is.
This song got a tribute to X-Japan, is a power/speed metal ballad, if you want to know legendary Japanese band you should know X-Japan, Yoshiki one of the founder member was the one who suffered serious injury while headbanging during a live concert, that's the tribute in Headbanger!! song live at Legend 1997 is a must.
In this song our queen SuMetal is fighting for a neverending love.
Akatsuki it pronounce almost with the "u" silent so it goes like "Ah - kats- ki", it means "crimson moon" or "red moon", that's why is a homage to "Kurenai" (crimson) by X-Japan, even the beginning with that shout is a tribute to "X" live version.
This is one out of four solo she has on the repertory, the other left are "No Rainbow No Rainbow", "Amore" and Rondo Of Nightmare (if you didn't), same for Black Babymetal subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal, you can find songs like "Song 4" (with Metallica riffs) at this same venue or "Onedari Daisakusen" live at Legend 1997.
Like i said before you can find Akatsuki Unfinished Version live at Legend 1997 which is a ballad version with only a piano playing behind, similar to the new Monochrome Piano Version.
The Kami Band in this Black Night are: Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. Takayoshi is the one with the pink guitar (aka pink-chan) and was Mikio Fujioka's pupil, he also got a golden guitar, everyone loves Taka.
There's another special version live at Budokan 2021 with the grown up and more mature SuMetal vocals and some winks to other versions.
    Next suggestion:
    - Onedari Daisakusen live at Legend 1997, Gans Tomas got this clip safe to react.
Btw yesterday they released a new collab song called "Leave It All Behind" along with F.Hero and Bodyslam, both Thai artists. F.Hero already has another collab song with BM in PA PA YA!! another fun song for your next reaction if you want.
See you next time and don't forget to put your kitsune up! 🦊🤘🔥

Awesome! This is one of my favorite Babymetal songs. Su absolutely kills it with her vocal delivery and performance! This is how a love song should be done haha.
Also, she had 4 solos in their first 2 albums, and Moa and Yui had 4 "Black Babymetal" songs, without Su as well. If you want something darker, then check out *Rondo of Nightmare* from the exact same concert. This time, her solo is about an inescapable repeating nightmare and the protagonist finally gives in to it.
Also, Budokan has ~10K capacity and is a very prestigious stage that many famous Western artists perform at as well. I believe it's invite-only (not sure though)?
Fun fact: Moametal has the record of the youngest female artist to play there (followed closely by Yui and Su) due to this specific show, she (and Yui) were 14.
    Look forward to more! 🤘🦊

They were just teenagers back then! Haha. And wow 10K?! that's crazy big! I'm glad so many people went and supported them!

@@lilyanyan I know! Although they were already fairly big in Japan by then. It was still before the world knew about them (for the most part).

"Going over thousands (of) nights, some love shall survive.
So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears,
I shall keep on cherishing this love.
    Dye crimson! Dye bloody crimson!"
    - Akatsuki
Guitarists that night were Leda Cygnus (black V) and Takayoshi Ohmura (pink guitar).
Hideki Aoyama was on drums and BOH on bass.
This was from Black Night, the second of two sold out nights at Budokan on March 2nd, 2014.
Su-metal was only 16 years old here.
She doesn't need to fear any pyrotechnics since she is pure fire herself. : )
Su performed two other solo songs that night; 'Rondo of Nightmare' and 'No Rain, No Rainbow'.
Yui and Moa (as Black BABYMETAL) performed two songs that night without Su; '4 no Uta' and 'Onedari Daisakusen'.

Suzuka is my favorite female vocalist of all time. She has 3 other solo performances
No Rain No Rainbow (Legend S concert with orchestra present is my favorite)
Amore (Wembley Arena concert is great)
Rondo of Nightmare (Budokan Concert is amazing)
and one solo cover Tamshii no refrain (also beautiful)
If you choose to continue Babymetal has over 60 LIVE song/performances and each be idms different.
